Abstract

This study was conducted to describe how education is implemented at SMPN 42 Pekanbaru. The implementation of education includes strategies and obstacles faced by educators. Information and data were collected through direct observation and interviews with teachers. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. The learning strategies implemented at SMPN 42 Pekanbaru are still relevant to the independent curriculum, with the aim of keeping pace with the times. In the implementation stage of this learning model, teachers at SMPN 42 Pekanbaru have prepared several strategies for preparing students and managing the classroom. However, there are also several obstacles that hinder the implementation of these strategies in the learning process, such as obstacles from the students themselves and disturbances from outside the classroom. From this study, it can be concluded that teachers play a crucial role in the learning process in the classroom to ensure that the learning process runs effectively. Additionally, the implementation of the learning model also plays a significant role in the learning process to achieve more optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the role of parents in supporting Social Studies (IPS) learning at home for elementary school students. It focuses on how parents contribute as facilitators and motivators in their children's learning during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Using qualitative descriptive methods, the data were collected through interviews and observations of parents at SDN 1 Rejo Agung. The results show that parental involvement is often situational and depends on school assignments. Various teaching tools such as textbooks, YouTube videos, and real-life examples are utilized. However, challenges such as limited understanding of the subject, time constraints, and lack of access to learning resources hinder the effectiveness. This study recommends enhanced collaboration between schools and parents, and the use of interactive learning media to improve IPS learning outcomes at home.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the improvement in students' learning motivation by applying the snake and ladder game media based on local wisdom in the Pancasila Education subject, specifically on the material of the Exemplary Figures of Pancasila Formulators, for third-grade students at SD Negeri Putat Jaya IV/380 Surabaya. The research was motivated by the observed lack of student engagement and motivation in monotonous learning activities. Using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, this study was conducted in Class III-A, involving 27 students. Data were collected through questionnaires and direct observation during the learning process. The questionnaire responses were then analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The study was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of four stages. The results indicated a significant increase in student motivation, with an improvement of 11% from Cycle I (75%) to Cycle II (86%). This percentage demonstrates that the learning motivation of Class III-A students falls into the high category, affirming the effectiveness of the snake and ladder game media in enhancing engagement in Pancasila Education lessons.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of grade V students in IPAS subjects through the application of the Problem-based learning (PBL) learning model with a Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach at SDN Pakis 1 Surabaya. This is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) with reference to the Kurt Lewin model. The subjects of this study were students of class V-A SDN Pakis 1 Surabaya in the academic year 2024/2025 as many as 28 students. This research is based on several considerations that show that the low learning outcomes of students are characterized by several students obtaining IPAS scores below KKTP 75. Some of the factors that influence low learning outcomes include a lack of understanding of concepts, low student motivation, minimal student participation in the learning process, and the incompatibility of the material with the reality of their daily lives. The way researchers collect data uses the test method. Indicators of success in the study can be measured from the acquisition of student learning outcomes that show in cycle 1 student learning outcomes reached 82% completeness and in cycle 2 reached 93% completeness which before class action research was carried out student learning outcomes reached 71% completeness. Through the application of the Problem-based learning model with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. has a significant impact on improving student learning outcomes in IPAS subjects. Indicating that the learning approach.

Abstract

The history of the Indonesian nation's journey, cannot be separated from the role of the Muslim community, especially in the struggle to expel invaders from the face of the Indonesian earth. Through the education sector, Islamic leaders established Islamic education to strengthen the foundations of religion and for the people to fight the education system brought by the Dutch colonialists. The Islamic education system is the only formal education that has its own system and management which is different from the education system brought by the Netherlands. The Dutch government regulations that are so strict and harsh on the activities of madrassas and Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, do not make Islamic education paralyzed and in ruins. On the other hand, the spirit of Islam was still well preserved, where the ulama and kyai were non-cooperative with the Dutch and they moved away from places close to the Dutch. Similar pressure was experienced by the Islamic education system during the Japanese education era. Where the Japanese government requires teachers to learn Japanese and obliges the Tenno (Emperor) to respect. The strength of the principles of Islamic educator leaders has shown the ability of Islamic education to survive in accordance with Islamic principles, without the influence of any power that is in power.

Abstract

Problem formulation is a fundamental component in educational research because it determines the overall direction and focus of the study. However, many researchers—particularly students and education practitioners—often make mistakes in formulating research problems, such as being too general, non-operational, and irrelevant to the research context. These errors directly affect the quality of the methodology, the validity of the results, and the effectiveness of the research in addressing real educational issues. This study aims to identify common types of mistakes in problem formulation and to offer concrete strategies to avoid them. The approach used in this research is qualitative, employing a literature review method. The findings of this study include overly general problem statements, problems that are not based on theoretical review and preliminary data, problem statements that are inconsistent with the research objectives and methods, and problems that are difficult to measure.

Abstract

Ministry of Education Regulation No. 12 of 2007 concerning Standards for School/Madrasah Supervisors states that every education unit supervisor is required to have six competencies, namely personal competence, managerial and academic supervision competence, educational evaluation competence, research and development competence, and social competence. Two core competencies directly related to supervisory activities in educational institutions are managerial supervision and academic supervision. Managerial supervision aims to improve the quality of school management, while academic supervision focuses on enhancing the quality of teachers' instruction, ultimately leading to improved graduate outcomes. As mentioned earlier, one form of supervision is managerial supervision. This supervision is very important because management is the engine of the organisation that drives all school programmes, starting from leadership, curriculum, student affairs, facilities and infrastructure, budgeting, community relations, and so on. The guidelines for educational supervision in terms of policy can be explained as follows: Law Number 20 of 2003 on the National Education System, Law Number 14 of 2004 on Regional Government, Law Number 5 on Civil Servants, Government Regulation Number 19 of 2005 amended by Number 13 of 2015 and further amended by Number 19 of 2015 on National Education Standards, Government Regulation No. 74 of 2008 on Teachers and Lecturers, Government Regulation No. 17 of 2010 on Discipline of Supervisors, Presidential Regulation No. 14 of 2015 on the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between students' learning motivation and their academic achievement at SMAN 2 Banjit. A quantitative methodology was adopted, specifically a correlational design. Sampling was conducted using simple random sampling involving 60 students in grade XI. Data collection tools included a learning motivation measurement questionnaire and documentation of semester reports for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The findings revealed a strong positive correlation between learning motivation and academic achievement (r = 0.628, p <0.01). This indicates that as students' learning motivation increases, their academic success also increases.
