Abstract

The occurrence in clothes retailers in Bandung indicates subpar product quality and inadequate promotion, which influences consumer purchase decisions.  This study intends to examine the influence of product quality and advertising on purchase decisions in apparel stores in Bandung since various factors contribute to this situation.  This study employs a quantitative methodology utilizing a survey technique by disseminating questionnaires to individuals who have purchased items at the clothes store.  Statistical software analyzes data and examines the relationships among the researched variables.  The study's findings indicate that product quality has a more significant impact on consumer purchasing decisions than promotion.  Beyond direct influence, product quality exerts an indirect effect via promotion, hence amplifying its impact on purchasing decisions.  Simultaneously, advertising directly affects purchasing decisions and correlates with product quality.  The significant impact of product quality and advertising on purchasing decisions indicates that these elements are crucial in influencing customer behavior.  Nonetheless, additional factors external to this study also affect purchasing decisions, albeit to a lesser extent.  In light of these findings, apparel retailers in Bandung should prioritize enhancements in product quality by emphasizing material standards, design, and durability to align more closely with consumer preferences.  Furthermore, it is essential to employ more imaginative and focused advertising techniques to capture the interest of potential buyers and enhance client loyalty.  Integrating enhanced product quality and efficient promotional tactics is anticipated to influence future purchasing decisions positively.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of work motivation and compensation on the performance of employees in the service division of a car company in Bandung. Work motivation and remuneration are critical variables influencing employee performance in an organization, particularly in the service industry, which requires optimal productivity and service quality. The employed research method is a descriptive analysis utilizing a quantitative methodology. Data were gathered by distributing questionnaires to personnel in the service division of the studied organization. The data analysis employed Pearson Product Moment correlation and coefficient of determination analysis with IBM SPSS Statistics software. The study's findings demonstrate that work motivation and compensation positively influence employee performance. A regression study demonstrates a robust correlation between job motivation and compensation for employee performance. This condition suggests that elevated job motivation and an improved remuneration structure will significantly enhance employee performance. The study’s results indicate that job motivation has a more significant impact on employee performance than compensation. Both aspects concurrently contribute significantly to enhancing employee performance. These findings underscore organizations' need to prioritize work-motivating aspects and offer equitable and competitive remuneration to enhance employee performance. This study's conclusions can inform the development of firm policies that enhance employee performance through improved human resource management practices. By recognizing the significance of job motivation and remuneration, corporate management is anticipated to cultivate a supportive work environment, foster excitement, and enhance staff productivity within the automotive service sector.

Abstract

The modern entertainment industry is a significant business. The mass media currently focuses on popularizing and idolizing celebrities in the entertainment field. Public Relations practitioners who work as publicists play a crucial role in this industry. Gaining positive publicity or reframing negative publicity from issues and controversies can attract more attention at a significantly lower cost than purchasing publicity through advertising. Henry Cavill is a well-known actor and celebrity who consistently ranks as one of Hollywood's most prominent actors. Recently, he received news that he would not return to portray Superman after announcing his departure from The Witcher. Following the announcement that the DCEU was letting go of Henry Cavill, rumors appeared regarding the reasons for his potential dismissal. This situation is where Henry Cavill should engage a professional Public Relations agency. This research explores Henry Cavill's Impression Management strategies in this situation. The research method employed is a qualitative approach. The subject of the study is Henry Cavill's Impression Management regarding the actor's change for Superman on his Instagram account @henrycavill—data collected through text analysis and literature review. Henry Cavill could enlist a professional Public Relations agency to dispel rumors about his departure from The Witcher and counter the allegations that he is a poor worker. With the assistance of a professional Public Relations agency, the situation could improve significantly.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore and evaluate the impact of motivation, work discipline, and work stress on the performance of employees, with job satisfaction as a moderating variable, among Civil Servants in Banda Aceh City in the wake of the government’s regional budget efficiency policy. The budget efficiency policy implemented by the local government, as a response to fiscal constraints and economic dynamics, has various implications on the tasks and performance of Civil Servants. In Banda Aceh City, this policy represents a strategic step in optimizing resource management without compromising the quality of public services. However, reductions in operational budgets and employee expenditures may affect employee motivation, discipline, work stress, and job satisfaction in carrying out their duties. The population under study consists of employees from the Civil Servant category, which includes PNS and PPPK statuses, within Banda Aceh City. Accordingly, this study employs purposive sampling combined with incidental/convenience sampling methods. These sampling methods are chosen due to the convenience of selecting respondents when the total population size is unknown. Respondents are freely selected during the data collection period in June-July 2025. Data analysis was conducted using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method. The research results show that in the basic multiple linear regression model, work motivation and work discipline both have a significant impact on employee performance. However, work motivation is found to negatively influence employee performance. In the MRA model where job satisfaction acts as a moderating variable, work motivation and work stress exhibit a significant negative effect on employee performance, while work stress alone remains statistically insignificant. When job satisfaction moderates work motivation and work discipline, both variables positively and significantly influence employee performance. Conversely, work stress moderated by job satisfaction still does not have a significant effect on the performance of civil servants in Banda Aceh City, following the government's implementation of budget efficiency policies. Thus, human resource management in the Banda Aceh City government needs to prioritize job satisfaction as a central focus in efforts to improve employee performance under the budget efficiency policies introduced by the government. Programs aimed at increasing work motivation and work discipline will be more effective when accompanied by efforts to enhance job satisfaction through the development of a supportive work environment, provision of adequate rewards, and safeguarding the psychological well-being of employees—so that work stress can also be reduced.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine and evaluate job satisfaction as a moderating variable that affects the relationship between job satisfaction, motivation, and employee performance in the context of the government's budget efficiency policy implementation in Aceh.  In light of the present government budget efficiency policy, the performance of Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) staff is a pivotal element in attaining this efficiency.  Optimal employee performance not only facilitates the achievement of corporate objectives but also ensures the effective and efficient utilization of available funds.  This research population comprises all ASN personnel, including both Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) and Government personnel with Pegawai Pemerintah dengan Perjanjian Kerja (PPPK) under the Satuan Kerja Perangkat Aceh (SKPA).  This study used purposive sampling in conjunction with incidental sampling strategies, given the substantial population size.  This sampling approach is selected for its practicality in identifying respondents when the overall population size is indeterminate.  Respondents were randomly chosen throughout the data collection phase in June-July 2025.  The Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method was employed for data analysis to evaluate hypotheses. This study's findings indicate that job happiness and work motivation significantly influence employee performance.  A multiple linear regression model indicates that job happiness adversely and significantly affects employee performance, whereas work motivation positively and significantly influences employee performance.  In contrast, the MRA model reveals a substantial and inverse interaction effect between job satisfaction and motivation on employee performance.  Social support serves as a moderator that enhances the positive and considerable impact of job satisfaction and motivation on employee performance, particularly in relation to budget efficiency implementation in Aceh.  Consequently, organizational management within all SKPAs in Aceh must prioritize enhancing social support in the workplace as a fundamental strategy to alleviate the adverse impacts on job satisfaction and optimize the beneficial effects of work motivation on employee performance.  This strategy will not only enhance the work environment but also improve human resource efficacy in addressing problems posed by the budget efficiency policy, therefore fostering optimal and sustainable performance.

Abstract

Darul ‘Ulum Islamic University (UNISDA) stands as the first private higher education institution in Lamongan Regency and ranks among the oldest universities in East Java. Situated at Jalan Airlangga 03 Sukodadi, UNISDA was initially established in 1985 as a study group and has continued to develop amid globalization and rapid technological progress. To enhance the interest of prospective students, UNISDA has adopted strategies that emphasize electronic word of mouth (e-WOM), scholarship initiatives, and content marketing. This research investigates how these three factors affect students’ decisions to enroll at UNISDA Lamongan. Data were collected via questionnaires from 90 respondents who were recipients of the KIP Kuliah scholarship and active users of social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that e-WOM, scholarship programs, and content marketing all significantly influence students’ decisions to pursue higher education. However, brand image only served as a mediating variable in the relationship between content marketing and the decision to study; it did not mediate the effects of e-WOM or scholarship programs. There was a notably strong indirect effect of scholarship programs and content marketing on decision-making through brand image. Based on these results, it is recommended that UNISDA further optimize its e-WOM strategies, enhance scholarship offerings, and improve the quality of content marketing to better attract new prospective students.
