Abstract

Indonesia is one among countries that has a growing rate of internet users. As any other country in the world, various activities in Indonesia are held inthe internet, such as communication. Despite its positive side, internet has anegative side that allows criminals to commit crimes within itself, such asfraud. This kind of crime is executed by the criminal by deceiving its potentialvictim with false information in order to fulfill its personal gains through thevery function of the internet, communication channel. The condition will getworse as the crime is undertaken transcending national boundary whichmake it more difficult for law enforcement agency to solve regarding thedifference of jurisdiction. To deal with the case, Indonesia has been in aninternational police cooperation called Interpol and works through itsNational Central Bureau, NCB Interpol, in Indonesia. This research aims toknow the role of NCB Interpol Indonesia in handling transnational internetfraud case and to analyze the efficiency of it. This research is descriptiveanalytical which employs qualitative method and theory of internationalorganization with liberalism paradigm to analyze the data collected throughliterature studies, documentation, and interview as well. The result showsthat NCB Interpol Indonesia has the role as a facilitator of the two parties,Indonesia and Interpol, and is efficient enough in the field.

Abstract

Europe has been the continent in the spotlight since the middle of 2015, UNHCR report in 2015 showed 1,000,573 refugees from the Middle East fled to Europe because of the endless war and security uncertainty. Unfortunately the European Union is still divided over the refugee crisis. Although the European Union Commission has made a decision regarding the relocation scheme for refugees to be distributed fairly among EU countries, there are still some countries that reject the decision. As will be discussed in this study is the decision of the Portuguese government to accept refugees and the decision of the Hungarian government to reject refugees. The purpose of this study is to find out why Portugal and Hungary implemented different policies regarding the Middle East refugee problem. Specifically this research uses the theory of the national roles conception that see internal and external factors as forming the meaning of a country's national role. The study was conducted with qualitative method and descriptive research by using literature review in data collection. The results explain how different meanings of the national roles conception can influence the policies of the governments of Portugal and Hungary in the issue of accepting Middle Eastern refugees.

Abstract

This research identifies the causes of the United Kingdom’s violation of the Basel Convention in the case of disposal of electronic waste from United Kingdom to Nigeria in 2003-2010. This research is using grounded theory, the research method draws conclusions and theories from the empirical data. The results of this research showed that the UK's non compliance to the Basel Convention lack of the UK's commitment to environmental and health issues. UK often received a warning from the European Commission and other countries regarding their transgressions of environmental issues at the global and domestic level since UK is more focusing on traditional issues of international relations, such as military, security and political issues. In addition, Nigeria's population demand on used electrical and electronic equipment is quite high, because many citizens are involved in this sector, either as recyclers or consumers. This is why UK continues to dispose its electronic waste to Nigeria.

Abstract

Keywords : Tiongkok, partisipasi, Arctic Council, adaptive behavior.

Abstract

This research aims to determine why the Syrian refugees choose to seek shelters inLebanon and to analyze the role of identity on their influx to Lebanon. Lebanon hasbecome the second largest refugee host country in the world, receiving nearly 1,2 millionrefugees as of 2014. In fact, Lebanon is a country with a limited economic capabilitiescompounded by sectarian conflict, resource scarcity, and a political instability. From aconstructivist approaches, this researches argues that there are non-strategic considerationsthat underlines the refugees' decision to travel across border to Lebanon, particularly thepresence of kinship, brotherhood, and common identities which underlies the openness forrefugees and a positive reception from the Lebanese people. Those primordial ties led to acollaborative, integrative, and positive relations between people from two countries. Thisresearch further proves a constructivist assumption that in transnational relations is notmerely driven by a rational considerations, but also in a non-rational aspect in thisparticular case, under the basis of primordial ties.

Abstract

Trophy Hunting is a hunting activity with the aim of obtaining animal carcasses which are used as symbols of the greatness of the hunters. In its continuation, this practice was carried out by Western hunters from both the United States and Europe who introduced it as the most effective conservation tool for Africa instead of controlling the magnificent megafauna within. This is what makes this practice one of the issues that are currently being discussed because it relates to the environment and the lives of animals in Africa, especially Zimbabwe. Therefore, this study will discuss the implications of trophy hunting activities through a postcolonial approach to the ecological damage of wildlife in Zimbabwe. Furthermore, this research will use anthropocentric environmental ethics to reveal the implications of this practice in more detail. This research uses a descriptive analysis approach with sources obtained from literature studies and analyzed using the discourse analysis method. The findings in this study are trophy hunting is a subtle form of control over megafauna in Africa, especially Zimbabwe, which still legalizes this activity. The persistence of Western power has had a negative impact such as disrupted food chains, declining animal populations, stress levels experienced by animals and other impacts that are also felt by the surrounding community.
