Abstract

This study aims to provide a descriptive overview of self-efficacy among twelfth-grade students who are facing intense academic demands and transition challenges. Self-efficacy, defined as an individual’s belief in their capability to organize and execute actions required to manage prospective situations, plays a critical role in determining students’ motivation and perseverance. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed with 119 students as respondents. Data were collected using a self-efficacy scale comprising items that measure level, generality, and strength dimensions. The findings show that the majority of students have moderate to high self-efficacy, which implies readiness to face academic tasks. Descriptive statistics further reveal variations between class groups. This study highlights the importance of promoting strategies that maintain and enhance students’ confidence in their academic capabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate measurement instruments for assessing teacher–student relationships and student resilience in the Indonesian educational context. The teacher–student relationship scale covers seven dimensions such as proximity seeking, emotional support, and open communication. Meanwhile, the resilience scale comprises eight dimensions including emotional, cognitive, relational, physical, motivational, spiritual, and adaptive aspects. Data were collected through two try outs using Likert scale questionnaires distributed via both paper based and Google Form to middle and high school students. Validity was tested using Pearson correlation, and reliability was confirmed through Cronbach’s Alpha. The results show high validity and reliability for both scales, with a positive correlation (r = 0.489, p < 0.05) indicating that better teacher–student relationships are associated with higher student resilience. This study contributes practical measurement tools for educational interventions to strengthen psychosocial student development in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety in college students. The method used in this research is a literature study. The data collection technique involves collecting several studies to answer the analysis technique used, which is the content analysis technique. To maintain the integrity of the assessment and prevent incorrect information in the data analysis, bibliography checks and literature re-reading were conducted. The results of this study as well as the conclusion are that there is a strong negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety in students. The higher the self-efficacy, the lower the academic anxiety of students. The conclusion of this research is evident from several other research results that have been carried out previously that are relevant to the topic we take.

Abstract

In the learning process in high school, students have the potential to experience stress due to task demands and their inability to complete learning tasks. Stress in the learning process is called academic stress. Various causes of academic stress include assignment demands that are considered too heavy, low test scores, a large number of assignments, and the surrounding environment. In other words, high school students need mental toughness in studying. The aim of this research is to reveal the influence of mental toughness on academic stress in high school students. This research is quantitative research. The subjects in this study were 65 class XI high school students in City 'X" who were selected using accidental techniques. The instruments used in this research were the mental toughness scale and the academic stress scale. The data analysis technique in this research uses linear correlation. The results show that p is 0.000 and the regression coefficient is -0.761 and the R2 value is 0.579, meaning that the influence of mental toughness on academic stress is 57.9%. This shows that there is an influence of mental toughness on academic stress in high school students in City "X". Abstract

This research aims to determine the importance of self-efficacy for each individual to improve student academic achievement so that students can understand the importance of self-efficacy in developing their own abilities to achieve the maximum possible achievement. This research is motivated by various cases related to students who have low and high self-efficacy which affect academic performance. The research method uses a literature review with a qualitative approach. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively to find out how important the role of self-efficacy is in student learning achievement. The results of the literature review show that the components of self-efficacy consist of cognition, encouragement, compassion, and decision making in improving student academic achievement. Self-efficacy has the potential to increase the ability to attribute results to success in learning. Students who are considered to have high self-efficacy are able to complete assignments by believing that they are able to formulate plans, get answers quickly, and can solve the problems they face optimally. Conversely, if students do not adhere to the principle of self-efficacy it will be difficult to solve the problems they face. In this article, data was obtained showing that high self-efficacy plays an important role in achieving student academic achievement. Meanwhile, low self-efficacy will not achieve academic achievement.

Abstract

Self-confidence is a crucial psychological factor that influences adolescents' ability to participate socially and overcome academic and emotional challenges. This study uses a qualitative case study approach involving in-depth interviews and direct observation of a 17-year-old high school student in a rural area of Lamongan. Data were collected from the student, parents, and peers, then analyzed thematically to explore patterns related to self-confidence. The findings reveal four dominant themes: low social validation at school, authoritarian and emotionally distant parenting, dependence on external support, and negative academic self-perception. The subject's self-confidence only increased in an emotionally safe environment. These results indicate that the self-confidence of the subjects studied in a rural context is influenced by interpersonal dynamics and self-concept. These findings are contextual to one case and cannot be generalized, but they provide valuable insights into the importance of emotional support in shaping the self-confidence of rural adolescents.

Abstract

This study presents a case of a first-year female student at Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya who experienced intense homesickness during her transition to a semi-military academy. Drawing from direct observation, alloanamnesis, and autoanamnesis interviews, the findings reveal how her strong emotional attachment to her family, especially her mother, created persistent emotional instability that affected her academic focus, motivation, and social interactions. While she possessed adequate cognitive abilities and discipline, her emotional state often led to procrastination, withdrawal, and fluctuations in concentration. However, the student gradually developed adaptive strategies, such as peer support, marching band participation, watching videos, and structured communication with family, which strengthened her emotional regulation. The novelty of this research lies in documenting the interplay of attachment and emotional regulation within the unique context of an Indonesian semi-military academy—a field rarely explored in existing literature. Beyond theoretical contribution, the practical implications highlight the need for structured emotional regulation training, psychoeducation for parents, and peer mentoring programs to support first-year students in overcoming separation distress. By emphasizing both the challenges and adaptive processes, this study provides insights for institutions to design interventions that balance family attachment with autonomy development.
