Abstract

This study investigates the impact of transformational leadership on teachers' creativity at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Karawang Regency. Most teachers adhere to conventional teaching approaches and do not incorporate novel concepts or advancements, as evidenced by the 65% success rate. The data was analyzed using quantitative methodology, which included surveys and analytical techniques. The study found that transformational leadership significantly impacted teacher creativity. The T-Statistics values of 3.331 exceeded the critical T-table value of 1.699, and the P-Values of 0.000 were less than the significance level of 0.05. The research hypothesis states that transformational leadership positively affects teacher creativity in Karawang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the implementation of a social entrepreneur-based curriculum at Santa Maria vocational school. This study uses a qualitative method approach by applying an illuminative evaluative model using observations and interviews. Based on the results of the study, it was found that social entrepreneur-based curriculum planning in Santa Maria vocational school involves considerations and foundations that lead to the philosophical and social entrepreneurial goals. The implementation of the social entrepreneur curriculum runs with planning that is in line with the vision and objectives of the social entrepreneur curriculum in the education unit. The obstacles that occur indicate the internal motivation of students and they still need training related to social entrepreneur integration in subjects and their development in learning activities. Overall, this evaluation explains that the process of implementing a social entrepreneur-based curriculum can run well and receive positive responses from students and teachers.

Abstract

This paper examines the impact of COVID-19 on higher education institutions in Indonesia and the United States using qualitative document analysis dedicated to higher education institutions. The findings suggest that the perplexing problems found in higher education institutions have downcutting the ability to achieve equal distribution of quality education, and the crisis caused by COVID-19 has made higher education less accessible specifically towards under-privileged students. Hence, the utilization of EdTech is pivotal in creating equal access and distribution in higher education. It is expected that the prevalent use of such technology is expected to stick in the long run.

Abstract

This study investigated the multidimensional landscape of students' perceptions of mathematics learning using principal component analysis (PCA). Data were collected from 102 high school students (grades 9-12, mean age 16.2 years) in Indonesia. The survey, adapted from validated scales including the Fennema-Sherman Mathematics Attitudes Scales and the Attitudes Towards Mathematics Inventory, assessed various aspects of mathematics learning perceptions. Analysis revealed fifteen initial components that were subsequently consolidated into two major factors. The first factor encompassed variables related to external and environmental aspects: learning interest, parental support, motivation, difficulties, resources, school facilities, approaches, classrooms, materials, and methods. The second factor comprised internal and cognitive elements: conceptual understanding, self-confidence, learning models, anxiety, and techniques. The PCA results highlight the complex interplay between cognitive, affective, and contextual factors in mathematics learning. The findings suggest that interventions should adopt a holistic approach, addressing both environmental and cognitive dimensions. This research contributes to educational practice by identifying key areas for targeted intervention while demonstrating the effectiveness of PCA in understanding complex educational phenomena. Future studies could explore these factors' generalizability across different educational contexts and their longitudinal evolution.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of archive digitization on the efficiency of storage space and management of administrative documents. The method used is a qualitative descriptive case study at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Banyuwangi, including direct observation, interviews with archive managers, and data analysis before and after the implementation of digitization. The results indicated that implementing the digital system succeeded in reducing the need for physical storage space by 80%, with important documents that must be in physical form still stored in an organized manner. In addition, the implemented cloud-based system allows for safer, faster, and more cost-effective archive management. Digitization not only improves efficiency but also supports space optimization for other purposes and the institution's embrace of the modern technological era. This research concludes that digitizing archive systems is an effective solution to overcome space constraints and improve the quality of administrative management in educational institutions.

Abstract

This research investigates how EFL students utilize Free4Talk to improve their English-speaking abilities. A significant number of EFL learners face challenges related to anxiety and self-doubt, which can impede successful communication. Free4Talk offers a flexible and nurturing atmosphere where students can engage with both native and non-native speakers. Adopting a phenomenological approach, this research gathered data through semi-structured interviews to explore students’ experiences. The results show that students view Free4Talk favorably, noting enhanced self-confidence and better speaking skills. They value the supportive environment and constructive feedback, which promotes ongoing practice. Although there are obstacles like technical difficulties, students suggest implementing a more organized approach to fully harness Free4Talk's advantages. In summary, this research emphasizes Free4Talk's effectiveness in enhancing the speaking skills of EFL students and highlights the vital role of positive perceptions of educational technology in influencing learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students are influenced by the application of Quick On The Draw-based learning strategies. This research methodology uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The experimental class and control class received two different treatments as part of the Quasi Experiment Design research design. This study used two tests, namely validity and reliability tests needed to evaluate the test instrument. In addition, this study also used normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. Of the three tests, the hypothesis test is the most important data analysis test used to determine whether the Quick On The Draw strategy affects students' critical thinking skills. Where the results of the hypothesis test show that Ha is accepted or there is an effect of the Quick On The Draw strategy on students' critical thinking skills, in addition to hypothesis testing, the impact of this strategy can also be seen through the average value of students which results in a difference in the average value of the experimental class of 78.23% and the average value of the control class of 58.23%, so there is a difference of 20% between the two sets of data.

Abstract

Education is an important aspect in shaping human character and intelligence. However, the modern education system often experiences a separation between science and moral values, which has an impact on identity crises as well as spiritual damage. Islamic philosophy of education is based on the values of revelation and reason, while secular Western philosophy of education emphasizes more on rationality in the absence of spiritual values. This study aims to compare in depth the two educational philosophies based on Ahmad Tafsir's thoughts. This research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, which is sourced from the works of Ahmad Tafsir and other supporting literature. The results of the study show that Ahmad Tafsir emphasizes the importance of integration between science and the value of faith in the education system. He considers that the failure of the Western secular education system in shaping the entire human race is due to the loss of the spiritual dimension. In conclusion, Ahmad Tafsir's thinking offers a relevant alternative educational paradigm, namely by making revelation the main foundation and without ruling out reason. The balance between revelation and reason is the ultimate foundation in shaping man intellectually, morally, and spiritually.

Abstract

Critical thinking is a vital skill for students to interpret data and make informed decisions, especially in data presentation. This study focuses on developing and evaluating animated video-based learning content using Powtoon software to enhance critical thinking skills in data presentation, following the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) instructional design model. In the Analyze phase, a needs assessment was conducted to identify gaps in students' critical thinking skills regarding data interpretation. During the Design and Develop phases, instructional videos were created to target key critical thinking components, including analysis, interpretation, and evaluation. In the Implement phase, the content was introduced to an experimental group, with a control group using traditional instructional methods. A quasi-experimental approach with pre- and post-tests measured critical thinking improvements in both groups. Results demonstrated a significant increase in critical thinking abilities within the experimental group, with mean scores improving from 55.2 to 82.4, compared to the control group’s increase from 54.8 to 65.3. The study concludes that Powtoon-animated videos are an effective tool for fostering critical thinking in data presentation, offering practical implications for multimedia-assisted learning in mathematics education. Recommendations for further research on technology integration in education are discussed.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of professional competence on the authentic assessment skills of Indonesian language teachers at MTS Pekanbaru City. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation method. The population in this study were MTS Indonesian language teachers in Pekanbaru city. Samples were taken randomly with a total sample of 52 teachers. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, documentation and observation. The analysis used is validity, reliability and prerequisite tests. Hypothesis testing was carried out using a correlation test with the help of the SPSS version 25 program. The research results showed that professional competence had a positive and significant influence on authentic assessment skills with a correlation test result of R= 0.678. So it can be concluded that the professional competence possessed by Indonesian language teachers at MTS Pekanbaru city has an influence on authentic assessment skills, professionally competent teachers have the ability to assess and evaluate students, one of which is carrying out authentic assessment in Indonesian language subjects with the aim of measure students' abilities in various possible solutions to problems faced in real world situations or contexts that appear as the end result of a learning process.
