Tujuan penerbitan jurnal ini adalah untuk mendiseminasikan pemikiran konseptual serta gagasan-gagasan inovatif yang berkembang dalam bidang pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Ikrar: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berfungsi sebagai wadah untuk mengeksplorasi, mendokumentasikan, dan mempublikasikan berbagai hasil kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilaksanakan, sehingga dapat menjadi sumber pengetahuan yang kredibel sekaligus rujukan bagi wilayah atau institusi lain yang memerlukan inspirasi maupun solusi dalam menghadapi beragam permasalahan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze community empowerment strategies through the optimization of the role of traditional elders in the dispute resolution system in Pulau Rajak Village, Banyuasin. Amid the strong trend toward legal formalization, traditional institutions are often viewed as marginal, yet sociologically they remain a key pillar of village stability. Using an empirical legal research method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and literature review. The results indicate that traditional elders in Pulau Rajak Village effectively serve as mediators by applying restorative principles of local wisdom. Community empowerment is achieved through the strengthening of local autonomy in independently resolving internal conflicts. This study recommends the integration of customary rulings into village administration, as well as the need for a formal legal framework at the regional level to strengthen the position of customary institutions without undermining their cultural essence.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to strengthen the understanding of the Pulau Rajak Village community in Banyuasin Regency regarding the role of customary institutions in preserving customary traditions and local wisdom. The background of this activity is based on the importance of customary law in the social life of South Sumatran communities, including the legal tradition derived from the Simbur Cahaya Law as one of the written customary legal references historically applied in Palembang society. In the context of Banyuasin Regency, the existence of customary law communities and the compilation of customary traditions have been recognized through Banyuasin Regency Regional Regulation Number 9 of 2012. This activity aims to provide education to village officials, customary leaders, community figures, and residents regarding the function of customary institutions as a medium for preserving traditions, maintaining socio-cultural values, and resolving social issues through deliberation. The method used an educational-participatory approach through socialization, discussion, identification of local customary values, institutional assistance, and evaluation of participants’ understanding. The results show an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of customary institutions in preserving customary traditions, strengthening social harmony, and maintaining the cultural identity of the Pulau Rajak Village community. This activity is expected to encourage the strengthening of village customary institutions as part of the sustainable preservation of Banyuasin customary traditions.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to improve the understanding of the village government, MSME actors, and the community of Pulau Rajak Village, Banyuasin Regency, regarding the importance of managing village economic potential as a source of Village Original Revenue. Villages have the authority to manage their resources and assets to support development and improve community welfare. However, in practice, village economic potential has not always been identified and managed optimally as a source of village revenue. This program aims to provide education on the sources of Village Original Revenue, mapping of village economic potential, the role of village-owned enterprises, utilization of village assets, and strategies for managing local MSMEs as part of strengthening the village economy. The methods used include counseling, interactive discussion, village potential mapping, and evaluation of participants’ understanding. The results show an increase in participants’ understanding of the importance of planned, transparent, and accountable management of village economic potential. This program is expected to encourage the Pulau Rajak Village Government to develop sustainable village economic policies oriented toward increasing Village Original Revenue.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to improve the understanding of MSME actors in Pulau Rajak Village, Banyuasin Regency, regarding the importance of simple and measurable financial management, particularly in fulfilling customary obligations within the community. MSME actors often face difficulties in separating business income, operational costs, household needs, and social or customary obligations. This condition may affect business sustainability when customary obligations are not calculated based on proportional economic capacity. This program aims to provide education on how to calculate income, expenses, net profit, and fund allocation for customary obligations in a simple manner. The methods used include counseling, interactive discussion, financial calculation simulations, and evaluation of participants’ understanding. The results show an increase in participants’ understanding of financial recording, separation of business capital and personal needs, and the calculation of customary obligations based on real economic capacity. This program is expected to help MSME actors maintain a balance between respect for customary values and business sustainability.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted to strengthen the understanding of village officials in Pulau Rajak Village, Banyuasin Regency, regarding the importance of accountability in managing Village Original Revenue as an effort to prevent abuse of authority. Village Original Revenue is one of the sources of village income, which may derive from village business activities, village assets, community self-help and participation, mutual cooperation, and other legitimate village revenues as regulated under Article 72 of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages. Village financial management must also be carried out based on the principles of transparency, accountability, participation, orderliness, and budget discipline. This program aims to provide legal education to village officials regarding the governance of Village Original Revenue, recording and reporting mechanisms, internal supervision, and legal risks related to abuse of authority in village financial management. The methods used include legal counseling, interactive discussion, risk mapping, and evaluation of participants’ understanding. The results show an increase in participants’ understanding of accountability principles, the importance of administrative documentation, and the need for prudence in managing Village Original Revenue to prevent administrative and legal problems. This activity is expected to encourage more transparent, accountable, and integrity-based management of Village Original Revenue in Pulau Rajak Village.
