Abstract

Background: Malnutrition remains a serious public health problem, both globally and nationally. As a strategic effort to address this issue, the Indonesian government launched the Free Nutritious Food Program (MBG) in 2025. The determinants of malnutrition are not limited to direct interventions such as food provision, but also encompass socioeconomic, environmental, and behavioral factors. Methodology: This study employed a descriptive correlational study conducted with a cross-sectional design. The sample was drawn from the population using stratified random sampling. Analysis was conducted by examining the frequency distribution, mean, and standard deviation to describe the characteristics of the respondents. Analysis using the Pearson Test and multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression to determine the simultaneous influence of determinants on malnutrition. Results: Statistical results showed that the following factors were associated with consumption patterns (r = 0.45; p = 0.001), parental income (r = 0.38; p = 0.003), parental education (r = 0.35; p = 0.005), environmental sanitation (r = 0.30; p = 0.010), MBG food quality (r = 0.52; p = 0.000), and MBG food distribution (r = 0.41; p = 0.002). Conclusion: The results of this study confirm that the MBG program has a positive impact on improving nutritional status, but its effectiveness is influenced by various multidimensional determinants. Program food quality is the most dominant factor, while socioeconomic and environmental factors continue to contribute significantly to the success of nutrition interventions.

According to Riskesdas (2018), central Java is the province with a smoking prevelance pf 23,19%. One of the causes of smoking behavior is a lack of knowledge about its dangers. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge about the dangers of smoking and smoking behavior in adolescents at the Purwodadi National Development Vocational School. Method; this study was a quantitative researtch using a restroperctive approach and a case-control design. The sample consisted of 176 respondent out of a total population og 676 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure knowledge and smoking behavior. Result; Respondents with low knowledge and smoking behavior totaled 58 (33,0%). A comparative test using the chi-square menthod with computer assistance showed a p-value of 0,000 < α (0,05), meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Conclusion; There is a relationship between the level of knowledge about the dangers of smoking behavior. The Odds ratio was found to be 13.533, meaning respondents with poor knowledge are 13.533 times more likely to engage in smoking behavior.

Abstract

Background: Menstrual cycles should occur every month with intervals of 21-35 days for each cycle. Irregularities in the menstrual cycle can indicate problems with the hormonal and metabolic systems. Several factors influence this cycle variation, including stress. Stress levels and nutritional status also play a role in disrupting the menstrual cycle. Methods: This study employed a descriptive correlational approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample used in this study consisted of 88 individuals, divided into 44 subjects for nutritional status analysis and 44 subjects for stress levels. Data processing was performed automatically using SPSS software, performing univariate and bivariate analyses, and the statistical test used was the Chi-square test. Results: The univariate analysis showed that 60% of respondents experienced mild stress and 67.4% exhibited an irregular menstrual cycle. The univariate analysis also showed that 60% of respondents suffered from malnutrition and 67.4% experienced an abnormal menstrual cycle. The first bivariate analysis showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a relationship between stress levels and menstrual cycles. The second bivariate analysis showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a relationship between nutritional status and menstrual cycles. Conclusion: This study concluded that there is a relationship between nutritional status and stress levels and menstrual cycles in female students, with a p-value of 0.001.

Abstract

Background: Hospitalization in children can cause anxiety that negatively affects recovery and growth. One non-pharmacological intervention that may reduce anxiety is Qur’anic murottal therapy. This study aimed to examine the effect of listening to Surah Al-Ikhlas murottal on anxiety levels among hospitalized children in the Pediatric Ward of Sari Asih Karawaci Hospital. Methods: This quantitative study employed a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 38 children aged 6–12 years selected through accidental sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Indonesian version of the CSAS-C questionnaire before and after the intervention. The murottal therapy was administered for 20 minutes, twice daily for three days. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis and the Wilcoxon test. Results: Prior to the intervention, anxiety levels were predominantly classified as severe (36.8%). Following the intervention, anxiety levels decreased to a moderate level (44.7%). The Wilcoxon test indicated a significant difference in anxiety levels before and after the murottal therapy (p = 0.000). Conclusion: Listening to Surah Al-Ikhlas murottal therapy is effective in reducing anxiety among hospitalized children and may be recommended as a complementary non-pharmacological intervention in pediatric nursing care.
