Abstract

The city of Batu is known as one of the main tourist destinations in East Java with abundant natural potential, ranging from agriculture and plantations to beautiful mountain ecosystems that can be developed into ecotourism that emphasizes a balance between economic activities, environmental preservation, and community empowerment. Educational institutions can play a strategic role in the development of ecotourism, both as centers of learning, drivers of entrepreneurship, and facilitators of community empowerment. Through the establishment and development of ecotourism business units, educational institutions can create practice-based learning experiences, while also building the economic independence of the institution. This training aims to provide comprehensive understanding to tourism stakeholders, particularly ecotourism managers, in supporting the sustainability of ecotourism businesses.

Abstract

The transformation of Kampung Kue into a culinary tourism area is reinforced by the industrial cluster approach, where the geographical grouping of cake producers creates production efficiency, ease of access to raw materials, information exchange, and product innovation. This cluster approach is considered effective in strengthening the regional economy and increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs. The role of universities, particularly the Community Service Team of UPN Veteran Jawa Timur, has also encouraged the capacity building of MSMEs through socialization and discussions related to the creative economy. The article also emphasizes that the creative economy, especially the culinary sub-sector, provides added value through flavor innovation, packaging development, branding, and digital promotion—which then expands market reach. The synergy between the production cluster and the creative economy has made Kampung Kue not only a culinary hub but also a local cultural icon and a model for inclusive community-based economic development. These efforts are expected to continue improving community welfare through SME strengthening, product innovation, and culinary tourism promotion.

Abstract

This community empowerment program focuses on enhancing the visual identity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Wonocolo District through guidance in logo and brand design. Many MSME owners still have limited understanding of how professional visual identity influences marketing effectiveness, causing their products to be less competitive despite good quality. The mentoring was carried out using a qualitative method, involving field observations, interviews. The results indicate that the program successfully improved participants’ knowledge of branding elements, including color schemes, typography, taglines, and the application of visual identity across promotional materials. Participants were also able to produce new logos that better reflect their business identity. Furthermore, the program strengthened their ability to use basic design applications and increased their confidence in applying branding strategies. Some challenges were encountered, including low digital skills, limited facilities, differences in creativity, and varied learning speeds. Nevertheless, these issues served as valuable input for future program enhancement. The program recommends organizing advanced design training, offering continuous assistance, and providing easily accessible learning resources to support consistent branding implementation across both offline and online media. Overall, this activity contributes to increasing MSMEs’ competitiveness by improving their branding and product appeal.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of financial technology (fintech) and green economy principles to promote sustainable gold trading in Indonesia, addressing the persistent challenges of environmental degradation, low transparency, and inefficiencies within the gold value chain. Unsustainable mining practices and limited traceability mechanisms have contributed to ecological damage and questionable supply-chain accountability. To respond to these issues, the research aims to analyze how fintech-based innovations such as blockchain, digital payments, and algorithmic monitoring can strengthen environmental governance, increase transparency, and improve trading efficiency in alignment with green economy goals. A quantitative research method was employed, involving the distribution of structured questionnaires to 250 respondents comprising investors, digital gold users, and fintech platform customers. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling to assess the influence of fintech adoption, environmental awareness, and regulatory support on sustainable trading behavior. The results indicate that fintech adoption significantly enhances user trust, transaction transparency, and supply-chain accountability. Moreover, green economy awareness positively moderates users' preference for environmentally responsible trading platforms. Regulatory support further strengthens the ecosystem by providing a formal framework for environmental standards and digital verification processes. Overall, the study demonstrates that the synergy between fintech and green economy principles effectively drives sustainable gold trading practices in Indonesia. It highlights the need for stronger multi-stakeholder collaboration involving regulators, fintech companies, and environmental institutions to ensure responsible resource utilization while maintaining market competitiveness. The findings offer strategic insights for policymakers and industry actors seeking to accelerate sustainable digital transformation within the commodity sector.

Abstract

This study reports on a community service activity aimed at enhancing the digital capability of MSME actors in Garut, Indonesia, conducted on November 19, 2025, as part of the WiraHebat Goes to Village program. Addressing the local digital gap, the intervention utilized a practitioner-led training titled, "Digital Marketing for UMKM & Entrepreneurs: Mindset, Strategi, dan Aksi". The methodology employed presentation, Q&A, and brainstorming, with evaluation based on qualitative feedback. Results confirmed a successful paradigm shift in the entrepreneurial mindset and high conceptual comprehension of the Hybrid Strategy and 4P diagnostic tool. Participants showed keen interest in local channels like website, social media, eCommerce, marketplace and Google My Business (GMB). The activity successfully initiated Digital Empowerment, validating the approach of strengthening strategic thinking (Mindset and Strategy). However, a significant technical execution gap (Action Gap) was identified due to the one-day format. The conclusion recommends mandatory, phased technical mentoring following the training to ensure the conceptual gains translate into measurable economic performance and sustainable business growth for the WiraHebat partners.

Abstract

Inclusive development is becoming a key paradigm on the global development agenda as awareness grows that economic growth is not automatically able to reduce poverty, inequality, and social exclusion. In that context, social entrepreneurship emerged as an alternative approach that integrates economic and social goals through sustainable social value creation. However, the contribution of social entrepreneurship to inclusive development is still variously understood and has not been comprehensively conceptualized in the academic literature. This research aims to systematically and critically examine the contribution of social entrepreneurship to inclusive development in the last five years (2020–2024). The method used was a systematic literature review of scientific articles indexed by Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, with a total of 50 studies that met the inclusion criteria. The analysis was carried out using a thematic analysis approach to identify the concepts, contribution mechanisms, and challenges of social entrepreneurship implementation. The results of the study show that social entrepreneurship contributes to inclusive development through three main dimensions, namely economic, social, and institutional, including through the creation of inclusive jobs, increasing access to basic services, empowering marginalized communities, and strengthening multisectoral collaboration. Nonetheless, the study also identified significant challenges related to scalability, financial sustainability, and social impact measurement. These findings affirm the importance of strengthening conceptual frameworks, policy support, and the development of more systematic impact evaluation methodologies to optimize the role of social entrepreneurship in fostering inclusive and sustainable development.

Abstract

The tourism sector serves as a primary driver for the creative economy, with effective marketing communication being the key to its sustainability. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategy at Owabong Tourism, Purbalingga, in enhancing tourist attraction and its impact on the community's creative economy. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative research method, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with the marketing division, field observations, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that Owabong has undergone a strategic transformation from conventional media to an integrated digital ecosystem. Analysis based on Kotler’s eight IMC elements reveals that interactive marketing via social media (Instagram and TikTok) and segmented sales promotions are the most dominant instruments in attracting visitors. While digital marketing has successfully expanded market reach, challenges such as audience digital literacy and reliance on paid advertising remain significant hurdles. This study concludes that the synergy between digital marketing technology and adaptive regional enterprise governance not only significantly boosts tourist visits reaching 150,000 during peak periods but also creates a multiplier effect for local creative economy actors.
