Abstract

Motivation in teaching and learning activities encourages students' enthusiasm and willingness to learn something and maintain perseverance in the process of learning activities, and can improve learning outcomes. Cooperative learning with think-pair-and-share type is an effective strategy to increase motivation and learning outcomes. This research aims to test the influence of cooperative learning approaches with learning videos on student motivation and learning outcomes in Christian religious education, deviating from previous learning. The method used is an pre-experimental approach with one group pre-post-testin which 50 students in grades 10, 11, and 12 of the Bandung Adventist Christian High School (Naripan) and Cimindi Bandung Adventist College were involved in this study. Non-probability sampling using the saturated sample method was used in this study. Researchers used a Likert scale 1-5 to determine the value in this experiment. The scale is (1) srrongly disagree, (2) disagree, (3) slightly agree, (4) agree, and (5) very agree. This research is analyzed quantitatively using SPSS 26 version. The results show that students' enthusiasm for learning and their performance on standardized tests increased when the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning paradigm was used. Students are better able to understand the material being taught when using the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model.

Abstract

The Madrasah principal's strategy is the most decisive factor in the success of maximizing teaching and learning processes at Madrasah. This research was motivated by the difficulties of Madrasah Jauharussa'adah in carrying out learning processes during the Covid-19 pandemic to describe the Madrasah principal’s strategies to maximize teaching and learning process during such. This research adopted a qualitative approach. The consideration of taking this research object was because the researcher wanted to reveal that not a few educational units were confused in carrying out learning processes during the pandemic COVID-19. Meanwhile, the object under study was in the countryside. Data collection processes were carried out by interviews, observations, and documentations. The subjects of this study were the Madrasah principal and the teacher council. The data were analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the first Madrasah principal’s strategy to maximize teaching and learning processes at Madrasah Jauharussa'adah during the covid-19 pandemic was using a module system. The second strategy was the application of a small-group technique. The module system was implemented in a face-to-face mode. The duration of learning was set to only took 25 minutes.

Abstract

This study highlights the effect of service quality and the reputation of private higher institutions in building student loyalty. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research respondents were 185 students from PGRI Palembang University. Analysis techniques using variance-based structural equation models (SEM) SmartPLS. The results of the study indicate that the quality of service has a significant direct effect on reputation, not a significant direct effect on student loyalty. Institutional reputation has a very significant direct effect on loyalty. Student service quality has a significant indirect effect on student loyalty through the reputation of the institution, this implies that the reputation of the institution carries an influence relationship (antecedents) between service quality variables on student loyalty. These findings can help higher education institutions to make better strategic plans to increase student loyalty through improving the quality of service and the reputation of the institution.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning strategy implementation that is applied in social science learning activities at MIN 2 Bengkulu City “as a representative, purposive and inspirational sample. This is due to a number of reasons, such as in social science learning activities at the basic education level only using teacher-centered expository learning strategies. In addition, the teacher is not right in selecting, sorting, and implementing learning strategies. The lack of variety in learning methods increasingly makes students less/less versed in the subject matter. In the end, with fewer/not mastering students in social science subjects, the learning outcomes/grades are poor. The research method used is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of this study in the form of implementing learning strategies in learning activities in the field of social science are generally divided into three steps, namely planning; time, sequence of learning activities, methods, media/learning materials, implementation; preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities and follow-up and end with evaluation; test and non-test. The learning strategies used in learning social sciences are reading aloud, active sharing of knowledge, and small group discussions.

Abstract

School is a social institution that plays an important role in developing a child's personality. The smooth implementation of education in schools is heavily reliant on the operation of school administration. Management activities, in addition to the principal's leadership in achieving quality schools, are the principal's primary responsibility. A number of dominant factors influence performance appraisal ineffectiveness, including a lack of management commitment to conducting performance appraisal in a systematic manner, performance appraisal methods that are not yet performance-based poor follow-up. Improving teacher quality was discovered to be one of the teacher’s performance evaluation feedbacks that was not running effectively. This is influenced by a number of factors, including uneven awareness of improving teaching discipline, performance appraisal results that are not optimal as a reference in improving teacher quality, reliance on outside institutional assessment programs, a lack of follow-up on the results of upgrading or training attended, and a lack of empowerment to the fullest improvement or development forum in schools. School principals have made efforts to improve teacher’s performance, including routine school meetings, collaboration with supervisors, random teacher’s performance assessments, collaboration with independent teams (school committees), improving reward systems (awards), and motivational training for teachers.

Abstract

Students are susceptible to feeling pressure as a manifestation of the changes experienced during their educational process. These changes present themselves in a variety of different ways. This state is reasonably frequent among students, mainly when supporting causes of pressure are present. Some examples of these circumstances include living away from parents, shifting patterns of academic interactions from high school, differing academic expectations, and socio-cultural shifts. Moving beyond the theoretical foundation, empirical investigations, and phenomena in the area, there is a need for in-depth research and studies about attempts to identify models that alleviate the academic stress experienced by students. The Solution Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) technique combined with the internet, and online media is one of these approaches. The goal of this research was to determine whether or not the SFBC method combined with the model of distant counseling might successfully alleviate the academic stress experienced by first-year students. The number of participants in this research was cut down to five college students to meet the research requirements. The design and analysis of the research adhere to the premise of using a single-subject experimental design combined with visual analysis. The findings demonstrated an overall reduction in the amount of academic stress experienced by students after two sessions, as well as an improvement in their condition by the time the session was through
