Abstract

This research aims to develop an instrument for students' spatial thinking abilities in geography learning. This research uses the ADDIE Research and Development model method. The research subjects were 24 students of class XII IPS 2 at SMA Negeri 1 Kandanghaur, Indonesia. The instrument used is a multiples choice test consisting of six closed questions related to material on rural and urban spatial interactions in geography learning. The indicators developed in preparing the questions are related to spatial thinking skills, namely village and city spatial patterns linked to local regional space, case studies in one's own region, and forms of implementation of spatial interactions. The various questions are prepared first and then expert judgment is carried out. The next step is to test validity, reliability, difficulty index and distinguishing power index. Validity test analysis shows that the six items in the instrument are valid and the reliability of the test instrument is categorized as sufficient. Meanwhile, the level of difficulty is categorized as easy and medium, and the ability to differentiate the questions is included in the good criteria. Thus, the six question items developed can be applied as instruments to measure spatial thinking abilities.

Abstract

University branding is key to increasing the attractiveness and image of an institution in the eyes of prospective students, especially in the digital era where social media plays an important role. This study analyzes the branding strategy of Yudharta University through social media content and evaluates students' perceptions of the content. Qualitative methods were used with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews, involving the university's social media content manager and five sources from the 2021-2023 student intake. The results show that Yudharta University has implemented a branding strategy that involves various parties, including lecturers, the Student Executive Board (BEM), and influencers such as Inul Daratista, Maulana, and Gus Azmi. Content created and shared through platforms such as Yudharta TV and Ngalah TV with a creative approach that follows the latest trends, such as the use of Artificial Intelligence and 3D Pixar, is considered more effective by students, especially interactive and entertaining content. The Instagram account @ini.yudharta, managed by BEM 2023, shows higher engagement than the university's official account which is less interactive. The Islamic environment factor and the relationship with the Ngalah Islamic Boarding School also increase the university's attractiveness. This study emphasizes the importance of adapting social media content strategies that are in line with audience preferences to strengthen branding and attract more students. Yudharta University needs to continue to evaluate and adjust its approach to the development of social media trends so that branding strategies remain effective and relevant in facing competition in the higher education market.

Abstract

The study explores the application of Tasawuf and Ibn Arabi philosophy concepts in training to promote an environmentally friendly economy. The background of this research is the importance of integrating spiritual values in tackling the problems of globalization. The goal of this study is to look into how tasawuf philosophy ideas like Wahdat al-Wujud (Unity of Being), Tawhid (Belief in the Essence of God), Trust (Leadership), Zuhud (Inner Fulfillment), Hubb (Love), and Tafakkur (Rejuvenation) can be used in preschool education to help protect the environment. We used primary and secondary literature to examine Ibn Arabi's teachings and their connection to environmentally friendly actions. The results demonstrate the incorporation of the principles of the philosophical tasawuf into the curriculum and daily training practices through ecological education, simple lifestyles, green leadership, and nature contemplation. The discussion suggests that education based on the philosophical tasawuf can form a deep ecological awareness in the centers, making them agents of change capable of applying environmentally friendly economic principles. This research concludes that the concept of tasawuf and the philosopher Ibn Arabi have great potential to help build an environmentally friendly economy in practice. A post-training education that integrates the principles of tasawuf can produce a generation that is not only spiritually worthy but also environmentally responsible, thereby promoting sustainable development that aligns with environmental sustainability principles.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the process of developing a periodic diagnostic assessment instrument for social studies subjects at junior high school and precisely to determine the effectiveness of using the product. Periodic diagnostic assessments lead to early diagnosis of the condition of students in a particular learning topic, intending to create a learning process based on the needs and abilities of each student ( teaching at the right level ). The method used is Research and Development (R&D) from Borg&Gall which consists of 1) needs analysis, (2) product planning, (3) product development, (4) expert validation, (5) individual test, (6) revision, (7) small group trial, (8) revision and (9) final product and report. The data obtained were analyzed using percentages (%), and the basis for decision-making for the product revision process was obtained from the results of the questionnaire analysis of the validation experts. The diagnostic assessment instrument was developed in the form of a module. The validation results of material, design, and language experts showed 87.18%, 87.50%, and 89.33%. The developed module is valid and can be tested in the field.   The results of the limited trial showed a percentage of 83.33% (from teachers) and 92.00% (from students). Large-scale test results show an average rate of 90% (from teachers) and 82.01% (from students). The results of product trials at the individual trial and field trial stages show that the module is very valid so that the product can be used. The responses from students and teachers indicate that using the diagnostic assessment module can support the effectiveness of social studies learning.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is learning that is adjusted to the learning needs of students and is a learning model that is in line with the independent curriculum learning, which emphasizes learning that is student-centered, oriented to the learning needs and environment of students. This is stated in Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System that the curriculum at all levels and types of education is developed with the principle of diversification in accordance with the educational unit, regional potential, and students. This differentiated learning is also a solution to the problem of learning difficulties in Social Studies learning caused by educators delivering material using only one learning method, which is less understood by students. Thus, differentiated learning is very necessary to be implemented in social studies subjects so that the learning needs of students, namely in terms of learning styles, talents, and interests, can be met and learning objectives are achieved. The focus of this research in this thesis is: 1) How is the implementation of process differentiation learning in Social Studies subjects at State Junior High School 4 Jember in the 2023/2024 academic year? 2) How is the implementation of product differentiation learning in Social Studies subjects at State Junior High School 4 Jember in the 2023/2024 academic year?. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive qualitative type. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documents. Data analysis uses the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. Data validity uses source triangulation and technique triangulation. The conclusions of this research are that 1) The implementation of process differentiation learning in Social Studies subjects at State Junior High School 4 Jember is carried out by educators delivering material using different methods/learning styles, diverse learning media, group activity arrangements, and different practice activities according to students' learning styles. 2) The implementation of product differentiation learning in Social Studies subjects at State Junior High School 4 Jember is carried out by giving students choices in producing works/products related to the material that has been learned, providing different time durations for making and collecting works/products, and giving students challenges to present their works/products.
