Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by hyperglycemia or blood glucose levels exceeding normal values. Non- pharmacological treatment of diabetes mellitus can use herbal plants, such as mangosteen peel. Research Objectives:The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of mangosteen peel on reducing blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Rawang Panca Arga Health Center. Methods:This type of research uses quasy experimental method with one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all patients with diabetes mellitus as many as 40 people. The number of samples taken in this study were 40 patients with diabetes mellitus with total sampling technique. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Results:of the study Blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus before being given mangosteen skin (pretest) all had KGD ≥180 mg/dL with uncontrolled blood sugar levels as much as 100%. Blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus after being given mangosteen skin regularly decreased KGD < 180 mg/dl with controlled blood sugar levels by 70% or 28 people. The results of the statistical test analysis obtained a p value = 0.000 (p <0.05), this means that there is a significant effect of mangosteen skin administration on reducing blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Rawang Panca Arga Health Center. Conclusion: These results prove that the administration of mangosteen peels is effective in reducing blood sugar levels <180 mg/dL with controlled sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Rawang Panca Arga Health Center. It is hoped that health workers can provide counseling on the use of mangosteen skin in helping to reduce blood sugar levels in people with DM.

Abstract

Childbirth is a long-awaited and very meaningful moment for pregnant women to get the happiness of seeing and holding their babies. Most pregnancies end with the birth of a live baby to a healthy mother. However, in some cases, birth is not a happy event but becomes a time full of pain, fear, suffering and even death. There are many non-pharmacological ways to overcome labor pain, namely: breathing techniques, positioning techniques, touch or massage techniques, visual techniques. Therefore, the knowledge and attitudes of mothers in diverting pain during labor are very necessary. The purpose of this study was to identify the knowledge and attitudes of primiparous postpartum mothers towards how to divert pain during the first stage of labor with non-pharmacological methods at the Nurhalma Tembung Maternity Clinic in 2025. This study is descriptive. The sample of this study was 22 primiparous postpartum mothers using a cross-sectional approach. The analysis found that of the 22 respondents, the majority of primiparous postpartum mothers (77.3%) had sufficient knowledge, a minority (52.7%) had good knowledge, a majority (13%) had positive attitudes, a minority (59.1%), and a minority (40.9%) had negative attitudes. Postpartum mothers who wish to give birth again should further improve their knowledge through collaboration with healthcare professionals in providing appropriate, accurate, and continuous information through counseling on how to relieve pain during the first stage of labor using non-pharmacological methods.

Abstract

Syphilis is a chronic and systemic disease transmitted through sexual intercourse. Transmission can also occur vertically from mother to fetus in the womb or at birth, through blood products or contaminated tissue transfer, sometimes it can be transmitted through medical devices (Suryani, 2014). Syphilis is a highly infectious Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD), caused by spiral-shaped bacteria, Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum (Elvinawaty, 2014). Research Objective: To determine the frequency distribution of knowledge descriptions of women of childbearing age about syphilis at the L. Mungkur Midwife Clinic, Pematangsiantar. Method: This type of research is descriptive, namely research in which there is no analysis of the relationship between variables, there are no independent and dependent variables, general in nature that requires answers to where, when, how many, who, where and statistical analysis used. By using a cross-sectional approach which is a research design by conducting measurements or observations at the same time. It is hoped that this research will provide information about syphilis at the L. Mungkur Midwife Clinic in Pematangsiantar, and that women of childbearing age will be able to recognize the early signs of syphilis and seek medical attention if any of these symptoms are present.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition that arises when there is a decrease in the number of hemo-globin or the number of red blood cells in the body. This leads to a lack of ability to transport oxygen, which is necessary to meet the physiological needs of the human body. Anemia occurs because the volume of blood is insufficient to bind and transport oxygen efficiently from the lungs to other parts of the body. Re-search Method: This research is a type of Experimental Quasy research with a One Group Pretest Posttest design. That is the research design that contains a pre-test before being given treatment and a posttest after being treated. Thus, it can be known more accurately, because it can be compared with being held before being given treatment. Results: The results of this study showed that before being given the intervention in the form of beet juice (Beta vulgaris), all respondents had he-moglobin levels below the normal limit (<12 g/dl), which means they had anemia. Conclusion: The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a value of p = 0.002 (<0.05) which means that there was a significant difference between hemoglobin levels before and after drinking beet juice. So the research hypothesis in this case Ha is accepted.

Abstract

The direct causes of maternal mortality in Indonesia, as in other countries are bleeding, infection, and eclampsia. In bleeding and infection as causes of death, it actually includes deaths due to infected abortion and prolonged partus. While the incidence of prolonged partus or partus kasep is one of the causes of tension and fear that aggravates labor pain and ultimately slows the birth of the baby. Objective of the study: To determine "The Effect of the Application of Therapeutic Communication on the Intensity of Labor Pain in Period I ". Method : The research method used in this study is an analytical survey method that is one group pretest-postest, namely a research design that has a pretest before therapeutic communication and a posttest after therapeutic communication is carried out so that it can be known more accurately, because it can be compared with before and after it is done. Results: Based on the results of the pretest and posttest difference test using the paired sample t-test, it is known that the p value (0.000) < α (0.05) means that Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in labor pain intensity before and after being given effective therapeutic communication to reduce the intensity of labor pain. Conclusion: There is an effect of therapeutic communication on the intensity of labor pain in the first stage of labor with a p value = 0.000 (p <0.05). The results of the analysis show that therapeutic communication is effective in reducing the pain of labor at stage I.
