Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in student learning outcomes by applying the TGT model assisted by traditional games in the experimental class and student learning outcomes by applying conventional models to the control class. This study used a quasi experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was collected using test instruments for learning outcomes in the form of pretest and posttest values. The results showed that there was a significant influence on the Teams Games Tournament learning model assisted by traditional games on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research and development is (1) to produce a learning product based on blended learning (face-to-face, offline, and online) in sports socio antropology subjects, (2) as well as testing the effectiveness, efficiency, and attractiveness of development products produced in learning outcomes. The results of the study obtained the following data: (1) small group trials obtained an (89.11%), (2) large group trials obtained an (88.96%). The effectiveness test carried out three times obtained the overall average results of (85.05%) with a very complete category. Efficiency tests obtained data, namely (1) meeting I obtained an average time (01:09:47), (2) meeting II obtained an average time (1:04:39), (3) meeting III obtained an average average time (00:56:37), when compared with the amount of time used by lecturers by 2x50 minutes then there has been time efficiency in the learning process. The results of the attraction test of product attractiveness were obtained from three meetings through questionnaires: (1) face to face the results were (92.29%), (2) in offline the results obtained at (94.43%), (3) at online obtained results of (94.43%) with very attractive categories.

Abstract

Problem solving skills must be possessed by every student to solve problems by involving critical, logical and systematic thinking. This study aims to determine the effect of Experiential Learning on students' problem solving skills. This study used a quasi experiment method with a pretest-posttest control design. The subjects in this study were geography students, with 68 students in total from two homogeneous classes. Data collection technique used instruments in the form of essay test to measure students’ problem solving skills. The results present that there is a significant effect of Experiential Learning on students’ problem solving skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the problem solving abilities of high school students in solving physics problem topic working and energy. A total of 64 respondents solved physics problem about work and energy which consisted of four questions. The students' answers were evaluated using a rubric consisting of five indicators, namely useful description (UD), physics approach (PA), specific application of physics (SPA), mathematical procedures (MP), and logical progression (LP). The data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive. The results of the analysis show that the score of students' problem solving abilities is in a sufficient category, with the dominant score on indicators UD, PA and SPA. Students get poor score criteria on MP and LP indicators. In this case, students experience some difficulties, among others, students' mistakes in applying physics concepts in mathematical equations, students' mistakes in using equations that are not relevant to the problems presented and students' mistakes in using calculations that do not focus on the problem presented.

Abstract

Mathematical word problem is one of the difficult problems to solve. The purpose of this research is to describe the difficulties of SMP Negeri 1 Karanngejo students when solving word problem about system of linear equation in two variables. Data collection is done by using test and direct interview to 3 research subjects. Data is analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. The result of the research show that student difficulties lie on the devise a plan step, those are difficulty to transform relevant information into variable and difficulty to construct linear equation in two variables that represents the relation between relevant information in the word problem.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at the problem solving abilities and the representation abilities between students who learn with multi-presentation learning strategies with the conceptual problem solving approach and students who learn with conventional learning. Total sample is 68 students selected using the simple random sampling technique. This study used a quasi experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. Data was collected using tests, both before treatment and after treatment. The results of the study were differences in problem solving abilities and representation abilities in both classes. In addition, problem solving abilities and representation abilities of students who learn with multi representation learning strategies with conceptual problem solving approaches are higher than students who learn with conventional learning.
