Abstract

Abstract (Title: Family and State: Space of Self-Negotiation in "Qui A Tué Mon Père" Novel's by í‰douard Louis). Literary work reflects a culture outside its world. A family cannot be separated from society and country in which it is belonged to. Individuals in a family cannot be disconnected from their genetics. This qualitative descriptive study using Bourdieu's theoretical reference aims to describe the habitus, symbolic violence, and the arena of power in the novel "Qui a tué mon père" or "Who Killed My Father" by í‰douard Louis. The results showed that the habitus manifested through the main character "Je" or "I" was obtained through an individual historical process as someone who was born in a poor and a working family that is structurally dominated by society and state. In conclusion, the main character who experienced symbolic violence not only from his family (father and mother) but also from his social environment (neighbor, school, and government) try to negotiate his identity through this novel.   Keywords: habitus, symbolic violence, arena of power, dialectical, structural-constructivist

(Title: The Poetry's Potencies As Emotion Therapy Media in Society 5.0). This study aims to describe the function of poetry as a medium for emotional therapy in society 5.0. The data from this study are poetry texts written by students. Data were collected through test techniques (poetry writing) and non-tests (interviews, observations, and documentation). Based on the results of the study, it is said that aside from being a medium for brainstorming one's thoughts, feelings and experiences, poetry has the potential to become a medium for emotional therapy. Dictionaries, Enjambments, typography, and arrangement of lines can be said to represent the soul of the poet when angry, happy, in love, traumatized, experiencing sadness, and other emotions. The entire contents of the poem is a reflection of the emotions that the poet naturally experienced, saw, and felt in the packaging of words that were solid and full of meaning. Keywords: poetry, emotion therapy, therapy media, society 5.0(Title: Understanding The Motif of Midwifery With Earth Men as The Spirit of Feminism in the Indonesian Folklore). Folklore is one of the intellectual works that was born as an expression of the world view of the supporting community. One of the folklore motifs found in a number of ethnic groups in Indonesia is that which tells about the marriage between earth men and angels from heaven. Among these folklore are Jaka Tarub (Java), Putri Surga (Papua), Cerita Air Tukang (Maluku), Betawol (Miraculous North Kalimantan), Malim Deman and Puti Bungsu (Riau), Tomanurun (Toraja), and Si Lanang and Punai (South Kalimantan). This study tries to compare and understand the motif of marriage between men of the earth and deities by using the perspective of feminism. The results showed that the deities had higher positions and abilities than men of the earth who married him. This means that the upper world (heaven or heaven) the place of origin of the deities in social stratification is considered higher than the underworld, even though the two complement each other. The existence of the motif of marriage between men of the earth and desities found in a number of ethnic groups in Indonesia shows a high appreciation for the figure of the mother as an ancestor who inherited certain ethnicities, which is a manifestation of the spirit of feminism in a number of folklores in Indonesia. Keywords: deities, world above, world below, feminism

Abstract

(Title: The Humor of the Belantik Society in the Novel "Orang Biasa" by Andrea Hirata). Andrea Hirata consistently tells stories about the values of local wisdom and current social issues in simple language. One of the languages used in his novel is humor. This study aims to describe the form of humor and to examine the sociocultural factors of the Belantik people in Andrea Hirata's novel (Ordinary People). The data were obtained by using baca-catat (reading and notetaking) technique. Data were analyzed qualitatively based on Berger's humor theory, especially categories and techniques of humor. The findings of this study show that there are two categories of humor in interpersonal relationship, such as language and logic. The techniques of language consist of satire, literalness, and insult; while the techniques of logic consist of absurdity, analogy, dan repetition. Generally, the humor contained in this novel occurs as a result of close interpersonal relationships, such as the illogical way of thinking of a character, the way a character speaks to another character, and the way in which social criticism is delivered through the humor. Keywords: humor, satire, social criticism, absurdity

Abstract

(Title: Indonesian Identity in Drama's Nyanyi Sunyi Revolusi by Amir Hamzah). This paper will examine the beginning period of Indonesia which is represented in the drama. The past events which occurred more than seventy years ago are now retold, not only to re-establish who Amir Hamzah was, but also to explain the Indonesian identity and the roles he played in building a nationality. Amir Hamzah, one of the great authors of Indonesia who also contributed in formulating the archipelago as Indonesia, who advocated Malay language as the language of unity of Indonesia, should be killed by several young men because he was a sultan's nephew. Those young men considered the Sultans and their families as Dutch henchmen. The tragic story of Amir Hamzah's life was staged in a drama titled "Nyanyi Sunyi Revolusi" (trans. The Quiet Singing of Revolution)which with the scripts was written by Ahda Imran. Socio-political conditions give rise to the need to define "˜self'. This requires serious rethinking. This drama also illustrates the identity of Indonesia after independence. In other words, literature describes history from a different view. By using the principle of New Historicism, this paper will explain the complex problem that occurred in Indonesia after independence until the 50s. Besides, it also will describe "Indonesian Identity" in the drama "Nyanyi Sunyi Revolusi". In this context, Indonesian literary texts which reflect Indonesian history can be positioned as historical reading from a different version. Keywords: identity, Indonesian, revolution, new historicism.

Abstract

(Title: Learning Productive Language Skills Based on Cooperative Learning: AnExperiment of Brain Learning Models and Group Investigation). Course learning outcome (CPMK) provides clear direction for the learning process. In addition, it provides a real picture of actions and teaching and learning behavior for university students and lecturers. The learning processes and events that are interesting, fun, innovative, and creative will have a positive effect on the achievement of learning objectives. The statement indirectly requires lecturers to design and implement interesting learning models. The facts show that there are many learning models applied by lecturers that are not in accordance with the specified learning outcomes. The learning achievement of productive language skills (KBP) requires university students to be able to produce scientific papers published in the form of academic seminars. This demand has implications for the teacher's obligation to prepare an interesting, effective, and fun learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the BRAIN learning model on Productive Language Skills. This research was conducted at the Nusantara PGRI Kediri University in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year with a sample of 62 students. The group was divided into 2 namely experiment and control. The experimental group used the BRAIN model and the control class used the Group Investigation model. The results showed that there were differences in the average language skills of students between the experimental class and the control class. If viewed from the KBP, the experimental class has an average value of 65.29 which is better than the control class of 63.88.Keywords: Brain Model, Group Investigation Model, Productive Language Skill
