Abstract

Hutan mangrove memiliki manfaat dan fungsi ekologi dan ekonomi yang sangat strategisbagi masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui : 1) kondisi hutanmangrove Desa Penunggul dan 2)manfaat langsung dari ekosistem hutan mangrove DesaPenunggul Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Dessember 2011- Januari 2012.Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari pengamatan langsung, wawancara dengan masyarakatdan pemerintah desa dan studi pustaka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian hutan mangroveDesa Penunggul merupakan hutan hasil penanaman dan bukti keberhasilan upayapenyelamatan lingkungan pantai oleh masyarakat. Terdapat dua jenis mangrove yaituRhizophora sp and Avicennia sp. Rhizophora sp mendominasi ekosistem mangrove di DesaPenunggul. Manfaat langsung ekosistem hutan mangrove terdiri dari bibit mangrove,perikanan (kerang, kepiting dan rajungan), dan pendidikan dan pariwisata.

Abstract

S. aureus dapat menyebabkan penyakit toxic shock syndrome, endokartitis, osteomyelitis, pneumonia, sepsis, serta penyakit meningitis. Superantigen bakteri ini dapat mempengaruhi sistem imun melalui sekresi sitokin proinflamasi secara besar-besaran. Resistensi S. aureus terhadap vancomysin, mendorong masyarakat untuk mencari obat alternatif yang berasal dari bahan alam, yaitu tanaman obat tradisional. Salah satu tanaman obat tradisonal yang memiliki potensi sebagai anti mikroba, anti kanker, anti inflamasi  dan antioksidan adalah buah mengkudu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran senyawa dari ekstrak air buah mengkudu terhadap ekspresi CD4+CD62L+ ( sel T naif ) dan CD4+CD62L- ( sel T memori ) pada limpa mencit yang diberi paparan S. aureus. Pada  penelitian ini,  mencit dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu infeksi dan non infeksi. Kedua kelompok tersebut diberi ekstrak air M. citrifolia dengan dosis berturut-turut 25 mg/kgBB, 100 mg/kgBB, dan 300 mg/kgBB selama 20 hari kemudian diinfeksi S. aureus sebanyak 1 x 109 sel. Pengamatan jumlah relatif sel TCD4+CD62L+ dan CD4+CD62L- dianalisis menggunakan flow cytometry melalui progam CellQuest dan dilakukan uji statistik ANOVA RAL faktorial dan uji BNJ melalui progam SPSS 16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pada kelompok non infeksi pemberian dosis 25 mg/kgBB dan 100 mg/kgBB tidak berbeda nyata dengan kontrol normal, sedangkan dosis 300 mg/kgBB terjadi penurunan sel T naif (P0.05). Sel T naif pada kontol infeksi mengalami penurunan dibandingkan kontrol normal (P0.05). Sel T memori pada kontrol infeksi mengalami peningkatan dibandingkan kontrol normal (P0.05) Pada kelompok infeksi dosis 100 mg/kgBB mampu menurunkan jumlah sel T memori (P0.05)

Abstract

Madurese traditional medicine (herbs) Subur Kandungan is a medicine that is widely used and produced in Madura that contains Curcuma zedoaria (Chrism.)Rosc., Kaempferia galanga L., Foeniculum vulgare Mill., and Centella asiatica (L.)Urb. highly favoredby the Indonesian community, especially women to improve reproductive health but have not been tested scientifically and standardization to ensure efficacy and safety. Initial stageis screening bioactive compound and then antibacterial activity assay with paper disc method. Clinical bacterial isolates such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were used as test organisms. The best treatment to inhibit the growth of E. Coli and S. aureusis 70% ethanol at a concentration of extract 1000 mg/ml with inhibition zone respectively 5mm and 6.5mm. Although in crude extract form, Madurese traditional medicine (herbs) Subur Kandungan had inhibitory effect on the growth of the E.coli and S.aureus so this traditional medicine potential as an antibacterial agent. It is recommended that further work be done to identify the specific secondary metabolite compound that responsible for this effect, purify it, and standardize as same as a antibacterial drug.

Abstract

Carica pubescens Lenne K. Koch is a tropical species that adapt to the plateau environment and low temperatures. In East Java, the plant is found in Cangar and Bromo region. Morphological, chemical content, and analysis of protein banding pattern on C. pubescens has been done, but more on the analysis of active compounds for pharmaceutical raw materials and its accumulation in the body of the plant has not been widely studied. Saponins on C. pubescens potential as a raw material of natural medicine in the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). This study aims to determine the content of saponin in leaf and petiole of C. pubescens in terms of absorbance values. Saponins were analyzed by qualitative form the foam test, color test, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) analytical and preparative. Quantitative test in the form of UV-Vis spectrophotometry results preparative TLC. This research was done at the Laboratory of Department of Biology and Chemistry UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The results showed that the leaf and petiole of C. pubescens positive for the saponins with the formation of stable foam for 60 seconds at 1.5 cm - 1.7 cm. The third positive samples containing saponins triterpene the ring test produces a brownish color. Isolation saponin by TLC shows the best ratio of eluent chloroform: methanol: water (14: 6: 1) compounds can be separated perfectly. Saponin absorbance values obtained three samples as follows: petiole samples from the region Cangar amounted to 0.852, leaf samples from the region Cangar amounted to 0.686, and leaf samples from Bromo region amounted to 0,629. The highest saponins found in organs petiole. Thus the petiole of C. pubescens has the potential to be used as a source of triterpene saponins which can be developed into a commercial herbal medicines.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the ability of ZSM-5 in absorbing cigarette smoke to reduce CO level in smoking area. The research method are according to Gao, 2011 and Mukaromah 2014. The results were characterized using x-ray diffraction (XRD), FTR and SEM. The absorbance test was conducted by placing the gauze absorbed into the enclosed space with volume 18.000 cm3containing CO from cigarette smoke. The research was reached the stage of inorganic and organic substances leaching and oxidized in electrochemistry in H2SO4 to 20%. Zeolite zsm-5 membrane has the ability to absorb CO with the decline in CO on the highest levels the surface area of 25 cm2 to the time contact 30 minutes is 0.50 %.

Abstract

Phytoplankton plays an important role in the aquatic ecosystem for supporting the survival of organisms, such as zooplankton and fish. The aim of this research was to observe the phytoplankton in the common carp ponds and tilapia ponds with water quality parameters at IBAT Punten, Batu, East Java. The survey method was used in this research. The water quality assay was temperature, brightness, pH, DO, CO2, Nitrate, and Orthophosphate, and the phytoplankton analysis was phytoplankton abundance, diversity index, dominance index, relative abundance, similarity index, and evenness index. The water quality on the carp ponds and tilapia ponds was quite good for common carp and tilapia growth. The average of phytoplankton abundance in common carp ponds were 1538 cell/ml which classified oligotrophic and tilapia ponds were 4900 cell/ml which included mesotrophic respectively, diversity index was moderate in both ponds, no dominance specific phytoplankton in both ponds the relative abundance in both ponds showed different phytoplankton availability, the similarity, and evenness index showed the same in both ponds and evenly on tilapia ponds and equally on common carp pond respectively. The carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrate, and orthophosphate have a strong correlation to phytoplankton abundance with value 0.882; 0.949; and 0.967 respectively. In the future, pond management will be needed in IBAT Punten with growing natural food.

Abstract

Insects have great potential to be used as soil bioindicators. The research aims to analyze abundance and diversity of soil insects genus and determine the soil insects genus that have potential as soil quality bioindicators in citrus plantations. The study was conducted in conventional and semiorganic citrus plantations in Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency. The research used pitfall trap and hand sorted methods. Data were analyzed to find out diversity index, Canonical Correspondence Analysis and Indicator Value Index. The data analysis used PAST program version 3.15 and software R. The research results were obtained 20 genus of soil insects. The highest abundance of soil insects is occupied by the genus Aphaenogaster. The diversity of soil insects in semiorganic citrus plantations is higher than conventional citrus plantations. The soils insects that have potential as bioindicators of soil quality in conventional citrus plantations is the genus Formica, while in the semiorganic citrus plantations are the genus Cyrtepistomus, Pangeus, Tenebrio, Euborellia, Allonemobius, Stelidota, Gryllus and Chlaenius.

Abstract

Penelitian penggunaan chitosan dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda sebagai larutan perendaman daging ayam broiler selama 5 menit serta penyimpanan 8 jam telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap total mikroba dan nilai TVBN. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman daging ayam dalam larutan chitosan dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap total mikroba, dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap nilai TVBN. Setelah penyimpanan 8 jam daya hambat total mikroba yang paling tinggi yaitu konsentrasi 2% sebesar 4,4 x 106 CFU/g.

Abstract

Masalah lingkungan dan pencemarannya merupakan masalah yang dihadapi oleh manusia saat ini dan belum ditemukan solusi yang jitu untuk memecahkannya secara komprehensif, baik dari segi cara mengontrol penyebabnya ataupun mengurangi sebab-sebabnya, meskipun usaha itu sudah dilakukan oleh organisasi lingkungan hidup dengan segala upayanya, bahkan masalah pencemaran lingkungan ini selalu dibahas oleh masyarakat internasional. Salah satu permasalahan yang mereka bahas adalah timbulnya lubang pada lapisan ozon yang mengancam terjadinya bencana yang lebih luas pada lingkungan dan dapat berdampak pada timbulnya berbagai penyakit bagi manusia. Jika peradaban modern saat ini telah menimbulkan pencemaran udara tanpa memikirkan dampaknya, maka sebenarnya Islam telah meletakkan dasar-dasar hukum, jauh sebelum timbulnya berbagai pencemaran yang timbul sekarang ini. Namun permasalahannya adalah kurangnya implementasi dan aktualisasi dasar-dasar hukum tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Maka dalam kajian ini dengan tema Lingkungan dan Pelestariannya dalam prespektif Islam, pada dasarnya adalah kajian umum yang mengkaji dari sisi hukum Islam, yaitu membahas secara umum pandangan Islam tentang lingkungan dan penyebab serta konsekuensi yang timbul dari kesalahan manusia dalam menangani masalah lingkungan serta bagaimanakah solusi yang diberikan oleh prinsip-prinsip Syariah Islam.Key word : lingkungan, pelestarian, perspektif, hukum, Islam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui efek vitamin C dalam medium DMEM terhadap pertumbuhan sel paru-paru fetus hamster secara in  vitro dan untuk mengetahui pada konsentrasi berapakah vitamin C dalam medium DMEM yang berpengaruh paling efektif terhadap pertumbuhan sel paru-paru fetus hamster secara in vitro.  Penelitian  ini  merupakan penelitian  eksperimental dengan    6  perlakuan  dan  2 ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuan tersebut adalah vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 0mM (kontrol), 5mM, 10mM, 15mM, 20mM, dan 25mM. Vitamin C dengan berbagai konsentrasi tersebut ditambahkan ke dalam medium DMEM dan selanjutnya digunakan untuk menumbuhkan sel paru-paru fetus hamster. Sel paru-paru fetus hamster diisolasi dari fetus hamster berumur 2 hari, ditumbuhkan dalam medium DMEM yang sudah ditambah dengan vitamin C dengan berbagai konsentrasi dan diinkubasi dalam inkubator CO2 5% pada suhu 370C selama beberapa hari sampai biakan sel-sel tersebut konfluen. Setelah konfluenbiakan sel diamati persentase konfluen, viabilitas dan abnormalitas sel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa vitamin C dengan konsentrasi 0mM (kontrol), 5mM, 10mM, 15mM, 20mM, dan 25mM dalam medium DMEM mampu menghasilkan persentase konfluen berturut-turut 50%, 65%, 72.5%, 82.5%, 87.5%, dan 92.5% dan  persentase viabilitas sel sebesar 89%, 94.5%, 94%, 93%, 94%, dan 96.5%. Sedangkan konsentrasi vitamin C yang efektif  terhadap  pertumbuhan  sel  paru-paru  fetus  hamster  secara  in  vitro  adalah konsentrasi 25mM.
