Abstract

Organizational models can be used as guidelines for understanding organizations. However, the terms used in the academic world are often not the same as the terms used in the practical world. The lack of consistency of these terms causes these organizational models to be regarded as simply unscientific models. This research was conducted to formulate an integrative concept of organization. This concept will be able to accommodate the terms of the academic world as well as the practical world, so it is expected to be able to standardize the terms in an organizational model. The research method used was the qualitative method, namely meta-ethnography. Meta-ethnography is an approach taken to synthesize some texts and research findings and then reinterpret these texts. The data analyzed in this study is the formulation of organizational models that are well known in the literature, namely the 7-S Model from Pascale and Athos (1981), the Six-Box Model from Weisbord (1976), and the Stream Organizational Model from Porras (1987). The result of the research is the discovery of 12 elements within the organization that systemically have the backbone and the related stuffs. The 12 elements can essentially be condensed into five components which is the backbone of an organization. The backbones of the organization are mission, leadership, culture, performance, and vision. Among the five elements of the backbone, the most complex one is organizational culture, which includes eight interrelated and interdependent elements. The eight elements that build the culture are values, strategy, structure, system, goals, people, skills, and style. In addition, there are environmental forces that influence the running of an organization, they are politics, competition, technology, and population.

Abstract

Boba is currently one of the favorite products consumed by generation Z. Popularity of boba products can be seen from the purchases level of boba and how it is viral on the internet such as Instagram, twitter, Zomato, or food blogs. The spread on the internet is called electronic wordof-mouth (EWOM). One of the factors that increase EWOM is customer satisfaction. The study was conducted to explain the relationship between customer satisfaction and EWOM using the correlation study method. This study involved 111 respondents. The sample characteristics are students who have bought boba and have posts about boba in the internet. The consumer satisfaction measurement tool was adapted from Martín Consuegra et al. (2007).. Meanwhile, the EWOM measuring instrument was adapted from the Jeong and Jang (2011). The results show that there is a significant relationship between customer satisfaction and EWOM. The higher the consumer satisfaction, the higher the spread of positive EWOM regarding boba products. Results also show that women do the spread of EWOM higher because satisfaction encourages their desire to promote their favorite boba products to others. Consumers who have deployed EWOM can increase loyalty to the products used because consumers experience high satisfaction with their products. Sellers can increase consumers’ loyalty by paying attention to the product quality and service so that consumers feel satisfied with the products used and disseminate the product information.

Abstract

Often stressful or traumatic events have different effects on different individuals in the family. However, family resilience refers to the ability to maintain the family functions, including to provide supports for all family members. This study aims to explain the relevance of the meaning contained in the concept of family resilience through Islamic values, associated with its implementation in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method was Islamic Psychology development. The results found that there are a number of verses of the Quran and Hadith that have relevant meaning to the six dimensions of family resilience according to Oh dan Chang (2014). The dimension of collective confidence is relevant to the concepts of patience, self-confidence, firm conviction and being not desperate. Dimension of interconnectedness is relevant to the command to protect oneself and the family, to unite (not being divorced) and to avoid prejudice. The dimension of positive life view is relevant to have the positive thinking (husnudzan) towards the decree of Allah, to believe that after difficulties there will be ease, and to believe that each self is only burdened according to the limits of his ability. The dimension of resourcefulness is relevant to the command to make effort on the things we do and to have th hard work. The dimension of open communication patterns is relevant to have love and affection, to have dialogue with others, and to remind each other. Whereas the dimension of collaborative problem solving is relevant to help each other, to compete in good deeds, and to prioritize others.

Abstract

Learning agility is the willingness and the ability of individuals to engage in active learning in order to adapt activity opportunities from experience, and apply that learning lesson to successfully perform in the new and changing situations and conditions especially for reaching the organizational agility. Learning agility consists of four dimensions: people agility, results agility, mental agility, and change agility. The use of instruments in different cultural backgrounds requires an adaptation process to ensure the  valid and reliable measurement results, but until now there has been no research on the adaptation of learning agility measurement instrument in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to obtain and test the standardized Indonesian version of learning agility instrument. The adaptation process was carried out using the International Test Commission (2016) as a reference. Based on the results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using JASP 0.13.1.0, it can be concluded that according to the theory, the learning agility model consists of four dimensions: people agility, results agility, mental agility, and change agility. It has a good fit model after several adjustment items are removed. It explains that the resulted model can describe the actual conditions, but with some conditions that must be taken into account.

Abstract

Civil servants (PNS) are vulnerable to excessive digital use when doing their job in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, in fact it can have a negative impact on their well-being. Subjective well-being is very important to support the performance of civil servants to be optimal in the organization. However, studies that identify the relationship between the perceived digital overuse and the subjective well-being in civil servants have never been conducted in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview about the relationship between the perceived digital overuse in general and its dimensions on the subjective well-being in civil servants. The participants of this study were 143 active civil servants who had worked for more than one year in one of the West Java Government Offices. Convenience sampling technique was applied by taking the entire population based on the researcher's criteria carried out as a representative of civil servants who were prone to showing perceived digital overuse during the implementation of Work From Home. This study used a simple regression method which was measured by the Perceived Digital Overuse Questionnaire (Gui & Büchi, 2021) and subjective well-being was measured by using the Warwick–Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (Stewart-Brown et al., 2011). The results show that there is a negative relationship between perceived digital overuse and subjective well-being in civil servants. The dimension of overconsume is the most influential so that it can be a predictor factor on subjective well-being.

Abstract

Informal caregivers are not only at risk to physical health problems but also mental health problems as they take care of patients, especially during COVID-19 pandemic. This is caused by changes in daily activities routine and structure as well as the increased burden in taking care the patients as the consequence of reduced access to formal health services. However the role of informal caregiver is often underappreciated. The study aims to describe the mental health condition of informal caregivers in taking care the patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The reviews were conducted on two sites which prove the online journals, they are Google Scholar and ScienceDirect and it found nine journal research. The nine journals were evaluated using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses). The findings show that mental health condition of informal caregivers can be observed from emotional, cognitive, and behavioral variables, with the aspects such as anxiety, fear, distress, depression, quality of life, telehealth, suicidal ideation, health protocol, and changes in lifestyle. Whether caregiving duties during COVID-19 pandemic solely cause mental health problems for informal caregivers remains unclear. Findings from this research are expected to facilitate upcoming research, especially in psychological variables related to informal caregivers who take care patients in the time of COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Research and development of organizational performance theory has been done since the 1950s and it is found that one of the important factors that determine the performance of employees is the perception of  organizational support. Performance refers to the extent of the contribution given by the employees to an organization; meanwhile, the perception of  organizational support is an individual assessment on the availability of help from organization to support the duty implementation to make it run effectively and to help the individuals in facing any stressful situations. This study examined the consistency of the correlation between the perception of organizational support and employee performance by correcting the sampling errors using the meta-analysis technique. The quantitative review used 26 studies obtained by accessing online articles with inclusion criteria (1) primary study with the independent variable is perception of organizational support or organizational support and the dependent variable is employee performance with a time span of 2010-2020 (2) containing statistical values of N, r, t or F (4) samples are employees in Indonesia. The exclusion criteria imposed included: (1) the year of the articles should be before 2010 (2) Access for  full articles  were not available so that  tracing the method used  in the study was not possible (3) Methodological weakness  was identified which become the reason why the  research result was not significant. The results of the meta-analysis study with a sample of 2,460 respondents showed that perceived organizational support was positively and significantly correlated with employees’ performance with a correlation coefficient of .364 and with the confidence level of 95%.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the way gender socialization affects the young people’s perception on men and women roles. This paper uses state-supported gender roles in the Soeharto era as a benchmark for gender ideology today. The government of Soeharto marked a pivotal moment in the development of the expected roles of men and women both in the public and private areas. The aims of this paper are: (1) to explore whether gender roles in Indonesia have shifted from the Soeharto era to the present, (2) to examine what messages are conveyed by TV, schools and social media as agents of socialization, and (3) to look at young people's perceptions of "ideal roles” for men and women. The data from this paper are from journal articles, books and dissertations written in English taken from Proquest database by using the specific key words. Article searches were also conducted on the internet with the same keywords, both in English and in Indonesian. This literature review shows that inspite of various progress in the educational and political sectors, contemporary gender roles in Indonesia are relatively the same as traditional gender roles in the Suharto’s era. Young people, both men and some women, consider jobs in the public area and leadership positions as male domains. On the other hand, domestic work is considered as women's work, even though women work full time outside the house. The discrepancy between social expectations and the reality of everyday life often causes the double burden and the stress among women.
