Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe student errors based on concepts errors, principles errors, and operations errors in solving quadratic equation material. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were the IX grade students of MTs Al-Huda Dolok Sinumbah Simalungun in the 2021/2022 academic year as many as 20 people, and the samples were taken were 10 people with the most error criteria. Data was collected using a written test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be found that students' errors in solving quadratic equations are: (1) conceptual errors, namely not knowing the concept of determining a quadratic equation, not knowing the concept of finding the roots of a quadratic equation, and not knowing the concept of determining a new quadratic equation. (2) principles errors, namely students do not know how to determine quadratic equations. (3) operation errors, namely student errors in calculating multiplication results.  Keywords: Error Analysis, Quadratic Equation

Abstract

The achievement of learning outcomes is usually influenced in students, one of which is self-efficacy. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on mathematics learning outcomes for students at 9th grade of MTsN 5 Sleman in limited face-to-face learning. This study uses a quantitative approach ande the type is survey research. The data collection instrument used a self-efficacy questionnaire and mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through a daily assessment test of geometric transformation material. The analytical technique used descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis, namely simple linear regression. The results showed that: (1) the contribution of self-efficacy influence of independent variables on the dependent variable mathematics learning outcomes by 2.3% and the remaining 97.7% is influenced by other variables not examined, (2) the analysis results showed that the value of thitung = -1.135 <t???????????????????? = 2,005 with significant value = 0.261 > α = 0.05, so there is no influences of self-efficacy on learning outcomes math class IX students MTsN 5 Sleman-face learning is limited, which means influenced by other factors which is not the focus of this study. Keywords: mathematics learning outcomes, limited face-to-face learning, self-efficacy

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is the term used to describe Mycobacterium tuberculosis that is resistant to one or more Anti-TB drugs. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the number of patients recovering from MDR-TB, by modeling the number of MDR-TB cured patients using Multivariate Adaptive Generalized Poisson Regression Spline (MAGPRS) method. The predictor variables are the average age (X1), percentage of patients who fail category 2 treatment (X2), percentage of patients who fail category 1 treatment (X3), percentage of patients relapsed (X4), percentage of patients neglecting treatment (X5), and percentage history of close contact with other patients (X6). A combination of BF (Basis function), MI (Maximum interaction), and MO (Minimum observation), the BF value is two to four times of predictor variables, MI has value of 1,2, and 3, and MO has value of0,1,2, and 3. From the result, the best model was obtained from the combination of BF=24, MI=3, and MO=1, with GCV values of 0,3504 and R2 of 88,3%, and there are 14 BF that affect the response variable . The most influential predictors variables in a row, are X6, X3, X5, and X2.  Keywords: Poisson, basis function, GCV

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between self-confidence and student mathematics learning outcomes. This kind of study can be called a quantitative descriptive conducted at SMPN 9 Pontianak. The population in this study was class VIII students, the research sample, namely class VIII D students, was 30 students. The data collected are the results of learning tests in the form of mathematical description problems and self-confidence questionnaires. Based on processed data assisted by Microsoft Excel and SPSS 16 by applying tests for correlation of product moments the results of the analysis data are descriptive. Based on the research findings, it can be said that learning outcomes in mathematics and student confidence are interrelated with a correlation of 0.877. That way it can be concluded that the level of self-confidence that students have correlates with the results of learning mathematics. Abstract

Covid-19 has become a global pandemic in the 21st century. Various efforts to control its spread have been made. Isolation or regional quarantine is one of the efforts made by almost all countries in the world. Indonesia modified the lockdown by implementing 'Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB)'. Before and during the implementation of PSBB, there have been many pros and cons in the community. By using the SIR model and Euler method, the impact before and after the implementation of PSBB in Pekanbaru city is compared. Based on daily data of Covid-19 cases in Pekanbaru city, it is obtained that the value of the basic reproduction number before and after the implementation of PSBB are  and  respectivel.  This condition confirms that either without or by implementing PSBB, Pekanbaru city will be free from Covid-19. Simulation of Covid-19 cases before and after PSBB graphically also shows a situation that will be free from disease. However, without implementing PSBB, the number of infected will jump drastically after some time even though it will eventually decrease, while by implementing PSBB there is no spike. Thus, the implementation of PSBB can be an alternative to control Covid-19. Keywords: Basic reproduction number, Covid-19, PSBB, SIR model, Euler methods.

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative research is to describe in detail the profile of students' self-efficacy in dealing with discrete mathematics courses. The subjects of this study were 21 students of class TI21A4 Informatics Engineering Study Program, Duta Bangsa University, Surakarta, who were taking a Discrete Mathematics course. The information gathering tool consisted of a self-efficacy questionnaire and a guide for interview sessions. Participants filled out a questionnaire related to self-efficacy. The output of the self-efficacy questionnaire showed that 5% of students showed a very high level of self-efficacy, 39% had a high level of self-efficacy, 33% had a moderate level of self-efficacy, and 23% experienced a low level of self-efficacy. After that, 6 students were selected to be research subjects, consisting of 2 students each with high, medium, and low self-efficacy levels. Students with high and medium self-efficacy in solving Discrete Mathematics questions do not give up easily, while students with low self-efficacy give up easily when solving these problems. Students with high and moderate self-efficacy have been able to learn independently, while students with low self-efficacy have not been able to learn difficult Discrete Mathematics material independently and need guidance from the lecturer. Even so, students with high, medium, and low self-efficacy were able to complete assignments and submit assignments on time. Students with low self-efficacy, their learning efforts are less than optimal for various reasons so that they have not been able to achieve the targeted learning achievements. While students with high and moderate self-efficacy are already optimal with regard to their learning efforts  Keywords: self-efficacy; student; discrete mathematics

Abstract

Surabaya as the second most populous city in Indonesia often carries out developments on land, one of which is the construction of a shopping center. The large number of shopping center developments has made both local and foreign residents want to visit shopping centers in Surabaya. There are 9 most popular shopping centers used in this study. The purpose of this research is to determine the shortest route between shopping centers in Surabaya by using the prim algorithm. This algorithm determines the shortest route by forming a minimum spanning tree. The results obtained in this study are the shortest travel time from 9 shopping centers is 81 minutes with a distance of 31.5 KM.  Keyword: Prim Algorithm, Graph, Rute, Surabaya
