Abstract

Abstract As a way to improve the service of public transportation, there is a plan to operate bus lane in the city of Bandung with Cibeureum-Cibiru as a selected route. The aim of this study is to estimate the number of passenger and also the operational characteristics of bus lane for 20 years, i.e. from 2007 up to 2027. By employing deterministic approach, several operational characteristics, i.e. frequency, headway, and number of bus, are estimated. Two types of bus are employed, i.e. medium and regular bus with 55 and 85 passengers. Number of passengers for the year of 2007 and 2027 are 1,562 and 2,321 passengers per hour per direction, respectively. In 2007, frequency for medium and regular bus is 14 and 10 bus per hour, while the headway is 4.3 and 6 minutes. Number of medium and regular bus for the year of 2007 is 27 and 20 units. Keywords: bus lane, pelayanan operasional, estimasi, angkutan umum.

Abstract

Abstract The high saturation flow, long queues, and long delays at the signalized intersection are the factors causing traffic congestion at the intersection. This study discussed saturation flow analysis and long queues at the Angkatan 66 signalized intersection in Palembang City. The intersection legs at this intersection, namely Jln. Sukamto toward Jln. Basuki Rakhmat, Jln. Amphibi toward Jln. Angkatan 66, have high saturation flows and long queues, so that the intersection needs to be improved. There are 3 improvement alternatives, including the change in cycle time period, the change in intersection geometric, and the construction of flyover. Of the three alternatives, only the construction of fly over construction can reduce significantly the queue lengths. Keywords: signalized intersection, delay, queue, saturated flow, fly over  Abstrak Tingginya nilai arus jenuh, panjang antrian, dan tundaan pada simpang  bersinyal merupakan faktor penyebab kemacetan lalulintas di simpang. Abstract

The use of car by students as a primary mode for commuting to campus has profound effects on campusparking requirements and traffic congestion at peak hours. It is interesting how to reduce the amount ofparking provided and also minimize traffic congestion, but still meet transportation demand. One of thealternative solutions was Campus Transportation Management (CTM), with the purpose of improvingtransportation efficiency by reducing car dependency by changes to other transport modes. Carpool is one ofthe most common and cost effective alternative modes, particularly in areas that are not well served by publictransit. This paper aims to recognize the respond of the students regarding the carpool program and to mappotential zones and routes for the implementation of carpool at Petra Christian University. The result show, ifthe carpool program is be implemented at Petra Christian University, it should begin with several routes themost participants and meet the carpool conditions (participant schedule and characteristics). Keywords: campus transport management, carpool route, carpool matching.

Abstract

At present, the influence of overloaded freight vehicles only associated with damage to the road structure and road congestion or services. Overloading is not considering the effect of the increase of carbon oxides. Increased carbon oxides on overloaded vehicles occur due to increased fuel consumption and heavy vehicle engine work. This study aimed to obtain the relationship between axle load overloading offenses with increased carbon oxides carried by freight vehicles in the Province of East Java. The method used is direct measurement in several weigh in East Java Province. The excess weights of freight vehicles were measured and then carbon oxide emission tests were performed to measure the carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide emissions. The results indicate that there is a linear relationship between the excess loads carried by freight vehicles with increased carbon oxides. Carbon dioxide increased significantly in line with overloaded heavy freight vehicles. Therefore, the policy to implement sanctions, such as fines for overloaded freight vehicles should include cost components due to increased emissions of carbon oxides, such as reduction cost and community loss affected by these pollutants. Keywords: heavy vehicle, overload, freight vehicle, carbon oxides

Abstract

This paper presents the concept of a simple model to investigate the effects of land use change to accessibility. The proposed model consists of three interrelated stages submodel. The application of the model in the case of Semarang showed that residential area is most dominant zone forming the structure ofurban space, followed by the commercial and industrial zones. Related to the price of land, there is a difference in the land use and accessibility changes at 2 different time periods. Changes in the structure of space associated with an increase in land prices could affect the accessibility of the zone due to the potentialzone with high urban land price change. The concept of this model can be used as a theoretical basis for urban planners in Indonesia and is expected to be to be used as a tool to make a decision for the sustainable planning policy makers a road network in urban areas in developing countries such as Indonesia. Keywords: land use, accessibility, the structure of urban space.
