Abstract

Skills in solving multiplication operations are categorized as very low for second- grade elementary school students. The purpose of the research in this article is to determin the effect of the game-based learning model assisted by "Bamboozle" on the multiplication operation skills of elementary school students at Islamic Elementary School of Al Hidayah in the academic year 2021/2002. The research used experimental quantitative research with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research used a saturated sample as a sampling technique and a test as a data collection method. The results showed that the pre-treatment mean score was 63.33 lower than the post-treatment mean score of 91.90. By using the Wilcoxon test data analysis method, based on 21 study samples all of them have increased from pre-test to post-test with an average score of 11.00. In addition, by looking at the Asymp value. Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, it could be concluded that there was a significant effect of the implementation of the game-based learning model assisted by the "Bamboozle" on the multiplication operation skills for the second-grade students of SD Islam Al-Hidayah in the academic year 2021/2022.

Abstract

This article reports the improvement of students' mathematical communication skills, students’ self-confidence, and students’ responses through the implementation of the talking stick as a cooperative learning model. Classroom action research was implemented in three cycles for class VA with a number of 26 students. Mathematical communication skills test with a description test was distributed at the end of each cycle, while the questionnaire was used to collect data on students' self-confidence and responses. The results indicated that there was an average improvement score for students' mathematical communication skills. It began with a mean score of 23.46 in the prior reflection to 76.36 in the third cycle. Likewise, students' learning outcomes have increased from 7.69% in the prior reflection and increased to 84.63% in the third cycle. The average score of students' self-confidence in the first cycle, which began with a mean score of 68.15, increased to 77.96 in the last cycle, and the student’s responses were categorized in a positive category. Abstract

The Indonesian government's attempt to improve the literacy skills of elementary school students is to implement the MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) program for teaching campuses. Hence, the research described in this article is to investigate the information about the implementation of the Teaching Campus Students 2 program to improve elementary school students’ literacy skills. In addition, the research also involved the barriers, strategies, and evaluation results regarding student literacy. The research used a qualitative research method with a case study design through semi-structured interviews to find out the students' barriers, strategies, and evaluation results. The participants involved 20 students in the Teaching Campus program who were based in elementary schools and spread over the West Java provinces. The data used in the research was a qualitative analysis, which consisted of three activity lines, they are the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. The results indicate that the improvement of students' literacy skills was increased enough. It can be seen from the increased students’ interest in reading, the skill to process information, how to find out problems, and students’ skills to provide solutions to the problem. Various innovative learning strategies were successfully designed by Teaching Campus Students 2 and made it one of the factors that made students' literacy skills increase well enough.
