Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in protein content, fat content and pH value of cow's milk in the highlands and lowlands in Jombang Regency. A total of nine samples of cow's milk were taken from two cow milk shelters in different plains to be examined at the Veterinary Public Health Laboratory of the UWKS FKH. The protein content was tested by the formol method, the fat content was tested by the garber method and the pH value of milk was measured by a pH meter. The results showed that the average protein content in the highlands was 3.00% ± 0.012 and the lowlands was 3.20% ± 0.063, and the mean fat content in the highlands was 4.004% ± 0.063 and the lowlands 3.125% ± 0.109, the average pH value in the highlands was 6.7 ± 0.005 and the lowlands was 6.6 ± 0.043, so that the results of the comparison of cow's milk from the highlands and lowlands were analyzed using T test can be seen that there was no significant difference in the pH value and protein content, but in fat content there was a significant difference. Abstract

The research conducted at PT. Farm Delta Peniwen Makmur which is located in Peniwen Village, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency for a month in July – August 2020. The research objectives are 1. To find out the strategy for developing pig farming business at PT. Farm Delta Peniwen Makmur Kepanjen Malang, 2. To find out what factors influence the development of pig farming at PT. Farm Delta Peniwen Makmur Kepanjen Malang 3. To find out the position of the business when viewed from the pig farming strategy at PT. Farm Delta Peniwen Makmur Kepanjen. Primary data is obtained from interviews with respondents, while secondary data is obtained from reports from companies and related agencies, literature owned by companies, and writings related to the topics discussed. The sampling method used total sampling, namely owners, managers, and employees of PT. Delta Peniwen Makmur in Kepanjen, Malang. The interview process uses a list of questions in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis method uses SWOT analysis, namely analyzing the IFE matrix, EFE matrix, IE matrix and SWOT matrix. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results of the analysis is that in the SWOT matrix, the WT strategy is the most dominant in quadrant IV, which is 1.4 with the results of the IFAS and EFAS calculations on the Cartesian diagram (–0.249 ;–0.164). The company seeks to minimize weaknesses and avoid threats by improving product quality, human resources, production quantities, owners can be responsible for all decisions, carry out innovative promotions, provide maximum service at affordable prices, maintain good relations with distributors or customers regarding complaints that arise. exist, and companies can seek market opportunities in different areas. Suggestions that can be quoted from the conclusion are that companies can further maximize existing strengths and opportunities such as maintaining good relationships with employees, agents and customers, expanding marketing areas by conducting digital promotions, improving production quality, providing affordable prices along with price discounts, and no less important being able to establish relationships with competitors to grow the economy of the surrounding community. Abstract

Pangan adalah salah satu kebutuhan pokok yang mendasar bagi kehidupan manusia. Persediaan pangan merupakan suatu keharusan dalam menjaga stabilitas ketahanan pangan. Konsumsi pangan termasuk jumlah pangan yang di makan seseorang dengan tujuan tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi konsumsi pangan dan ketahanan pangan peternak unggas pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di Kabupaten Probolinggo. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dalam pengambilan data yaitu dengan menyebar kuisioner di Kabupaten Probolinggo. Adapun teknik pengumpulan adalah data primer dan sekunder. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 204 rumah tangga peternak unggas. Metode pengambilan sampel ditentukan secara acak sederhana (Simlpe Random Sampling) dengan responden sebanyak 20 % dari populasi . Pengolahan data dari penyebaran kuisioner diolah dengan metode statistik deskriptif kemudian hasil kuisioner diolah menjadi data berupa grafik dan penjelasan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan pola konsumsi bahwa konsumsi pangan rumah tangga peternak unggas sebesar Rp. 1.226.897 dan tingkat ketahanan pangan rumah tangga peternak unggas pada masa pandemi Covid-19 termasuk dalam kategori tidak tahan pangan

Abstract

Limbah kotoran merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh peternak ayam. Limbah kotoran ayam dapat menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan dan gangguan kesehatan masyarakat sekitar lokasi peternakan. Pengolahan limbah kotoran ayam melalui proses fermentasi anaerob menjadi alternatif solusi terhadap masalah limbah kotoran ayam. Keuntungan yang diperoleh dari proses fermentasi anaerob limbah kotoran ayam adalah diperolehnya biogas dalam kapasitas cukup banyak. Pengembangan biodigester anaerob dalam bioreaktor untuk pengolahan limbah menjadi faktor penting dalam proses konversi limbah kotoran ayam menjadi biogas. Pada penelitian ini telah berhasil dilakukan pengembangan biodigester anaerob portabel berkapasitas 1.200 L. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa bioreaktor dapat menghasilkan biogas sebanyak 61,5 m3 untuk sekali periode proses fermentasi dari 603 kg kotoran ayam. Biogas yang dihasilkan dapat menjadi salah satu sumber energi alternatif bagi masyarakat.

Abstract

Produktivitas ternak sangat ditentukan oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah manajemen kandang. Tempat pakan dan minum merupakan bagian dari kandang yang harus diperhatikan standar ukurannya. Hal ini karena dapat mempengaruhi performa produksi ternak. Semakin kecil ukurannya maka kapasitas daya tampung pakan sedikit juga sehingga kebutuhan pokok tidak terpenuhi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi ukuran tempat pakan dan minum kambing perah laktasi yang meliputi panjang, lebar atas, lebar bawah, tinggi depan, tinggi belakang serta tinggi dasar tempat pakan dari belakang. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan di Peternakan Kambing Perah Alam Farm Manglayang Kecamatan Cilengkrang Kabupaten Bandung Jawa Barat. Penelitian menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Data sampel diperoleh dari 30 kandang kambing perah yang sedang laktasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran tempat pakan kambing perah di Peternakan Kambing Perah Alam Farm menghasilkan kisaran panjang antara 122-145 cm, lebar atas 37,9-45,8 cm, lebar bawah 29,5-37,8 cm, tinggi depan 33,2-35,5 cm, tinggi belakang 19,7-28,4 cm, dan tinggi dasar tempat pakan dari belakang 22,0-23,6 cm sedangkan tempat minum tidak tersedia hal ini dikarenakan kebutuhan air minum ternak kambing perah sudah terpenuhi dari pakan hijauan yang diberikan. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa ukuran tempat pakan kambing perah laktasi yang terdapat di Peternakan kambing perah Alam Farm Manglayang masih dalam kondisi yang relatif normal namun untuk tempat air minum belum memenuhi standar.

Abstract

One indicator of success in reproductive efficiency in artificially inseminated (IB) cattle is the Service per Conception (S/C) value, which is widely associated with the body condition score of the cow known as the Body Condition Score (BCS). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between value of BCS and S/C of Bali cattle in artificial insemination of Bali cattle. The type of research is an observational longitudinal study, which was conducted from January to April 2021 in the Kilang village Montong Gading district. The number of samples used in this study was 20 Bali cattle with a purposive sampling method on Bali cattle with two lactations. Assessment of Body Condition Score (BCS) is done visually or by palpation on body fat deposits under the skin around the base of the tail, vertebrae and coccyx, while the S/C score is assessed by comparing the number of artificially inseminated (IB) to the occurrence of pregnancy. The relationship between BSC and S/C was carried out using the Pearson Chi-square test. The results showed that the 20 Bali cattle that were sampled had an average Body Condition Score of 2.4 ± 0.680, while the Service per Conception value had an average of 1.55 ± 0.686. The results of the Pearson Chi-square test analysis regarding the relationship between Body Condition Score and Service per Conception in Bali cattle did not have a non-significant relationship because p-value > 0.05 (p-value = 0.08) with = 0.05.

Abstract

The study aims describe evaluation the results implementation of extension design on the application banana stem fermented feed for beef cattle tambaksari village, purwodadi district, pasuruan regency. Variable observed are whether the material, methods and media are determined according to the target needs. The study population was 60 people and sampling used Total Sampling. Research method used descriptive quantitative. Data taken primary and secondary data where collection’s through interviews, observation and questionnaires. Counseling design based on the potential of natural resources and human resources that are owned by the target where in general target is elementary education, 45 years old and 10 years old. Stated goal is the goal of good perception feed fermentation of banana stem for fattening of beef cattle. Material determined through several stages includes identifying problems and solving them, testing priority problems, determining factors, grouping agricultural extension materials, selecting / selecting agricultural extension materials based on the subject matter, grouping agricultural extension materials based on material characteristics, and decision-making matrices. The media used in counseling is determined using a matrix Analysis of the determination of agricultural extension media. Method used in counseling is determined using consideration of the selection of agricultural extension methods. The media used are Power Point, Video and Leaflets. While the methods used are lectures, group discussions, demonstrations of ways and direct practices. Evaluation results showed (100%) farmers stated that the determination of material, media, and methods used in counseling with consideration to the conditions of the goals and objectives of counseling in accordance with what was needed so that the material could be accepted by the extension targets. All farmers state the material, media and methods according to their needs. So that it is expected that the material given in counseling can be applied in livestock business.

Abstract

The study was carried out at the Setia Kawan Nongkojajar Dairy Farm Cooperative for 3 months on August 24 – October 24, 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between BCS of dairy cows with the quantity and quality of colostrum in terms of Total Solid (TS) colostrum. The material used in this study was 42 Friesian Holstein crossbred dairy cattle (9 months). The standard for measuring BCS is the standard from Kellogg (2010). The variables used were the BCS value, the quantity of colostrum production and the Total Solid (TS) of colostrum in dairy cows. The method used is a case study method and the determination of crossbred dairy cattle material using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed by simple linear regression with the BCS of dairy cattle, namely (????), colostrum production is (????1) and TS namely (????2). The results of the study obtained the equation ????1 = 3.62 + 0.14X relationship between BCS and colostrum production and the equation ????2 = 18.25 + 3.69X between the relationship between BCS and TS, the equation is used as a basis for estimating the quality of colostrum in terms of TS with (r) = 0.50 and ????2 = 0.2509% while the quantity of colostrum in terms of daily colostrum production with (r) = 0.043 and ????2 = 0.0018%. From these calculations, it can be seen that BCS is significantly related (p<0.05) on the TS of colostrum and has a positive relationship, while BCS was not significantly related (p>0.05) on the quantity of colostrum production.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in milk production between the front and rear teat and mastitis in FHC dairy cows in the Ngantang district. The research material was 45 FHC dairy cows with 2nd, 3rd and 4th lactation periods. The method that used was a case study by observing and collecting data at the farm by purposive sampling. The data obtained were analyzed by paired t-test. The results showed that the difference in front and rear teat milk production in FHC dairy cows in the Ngantang district was different. Front teat milk production has an average of 7.31 ± 2.71 kg/cow/day while rear teat milk production has an average of 8.91 ± 2.29 kg/cow/day. There was also a very significant difference in the mastitis score, the average mastitis score of front teat was 0.80 ± 0.92 and the mastitis score to the rear teat was 1.29 ± 1.34. Of the 180 teat tested for mastitis, there were 68 teat that were positive for subclinical mastitis, the average being the rear teat because the milk production was higher than the front teat. These results indicate that the front and rear teatmilk production is highly significant (P < 0.01).

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between BCS and body weight to milk production of Friesian Holstein crossbreed dairy cattle. The material used for this research were 45 dairy cattles that lactating period in 3,4, and 5. The study was conducted in KPSP setia kawan nongkojajar pasuruan on 28 August-30 October 2021. The method used in this research is direct survey to the farm. The data collection technique in this study was purposive sampling. The variables observed in this study were BCS, boby weight, and milk production. Data obtained were analyzed by used correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analysis. The linier regression equation between BCS and milk production shows Y= 12.178+2.899X with a correlation coefficient is 0.309 and for the coefficient of determination is 9.5%. The linier regression equation between body weight and milk production shows Y= -0.635+0.044X with a correlation coefficient is 0.488 and the coefficient of determination is 23.8%. The result of research indicate that there was a significant relationship between BCS and body weight to milk production.
