Abstract

The research was motivated by the student’s comprehension of math concept and  interes to ask orally are still low at SMPN 27 of Padang. This research aims to determine the student’s comprehension of math concept that apply active learning strategies Learning Starts With a Question (LSQ) type better than student’s comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 27  of Padang. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design. The instrumen was used is end test by comprehension of math. The data analysis technique used is T-Test one part. The result of hypothesis test obtained T-Value is 2,12, it is bigger than T-table that is 1,645, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, students’s comprehension of math concept that apply active learning strategies Learning Starts With a Question (LSQ) type better than student’s comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning at class VIII SMPN 27 of Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT         This research is motivated by the understanding of the mathematical concept of class VIII SMP 2 Pasaman low . It is estimated by the learning centered on the teachers and students are afraid to ask or an opinion on the matter is not understood . This study aims to describe the development of students understanding of mathematical concepts and determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts using Active Learning Model Type And Explaining Student Facilitator better understanding of mathematical concepts students with learning conventional SMP 2 class VIII student Pasaman academic year 2013/2014. This research is an experimental study . The study population was all students of class VIII SMP 2 Pasaman enrolled in the school year 2013/2014 . The samples were VIII5 grade students as the experimental class and the control class VIII6 . The research instrument is an essay test , Data analysis was performed with the help of MINITAB obtained P - value = 0.043 is less than . Thus , it can be concluded that overall progress indicator increased student understanding of mathematical concepts , and understanding of mathematical concepts that students use Active Learning Model Type And Explaining Student Facilitator better than conventional learning .

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research of background was the lack  of students want to asked some questions and understanding mathematical concept still low, It can be seen at result of student mathematics at eight grade of SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang. This research purpose was to determined whether students’ understanding of mathematical concept by applied active learning strategy Questions Students Have type better at SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang. This was an experimental research and applied random research toward the subject. Population was students at eight grade of SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang. Technique of data colection was random, VIII4 as experimental class and VIII3 as control class. The instrumentation was final test and used essay form with reliability r11=0,84. Technique of data analyse used t –test. Based on the data analised,  means of experimental was 74,81 higher than control 63,15. From the hypothesis testing got t-calculated 2,134 and t-table 1,664 because t-alculated higher than t-table so, research hypothesis was accepted. It concluded that understanding of mathematical concept by applied active learning strategy Questions Students Have type better than the understanding of mathematical concept by applied conventional learning at SMPN 2 Lembah Melintang at trust level 95%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Buddha Tzu Chi in Padang City stands on 6 June 2003, the first pioneers that bring Buddha Tzu Chi is Mr. Ferryanto Gani as long as Head of Tzu Chi Padang, after that Mr. Sjirwan Hamzah, Mr. Widya Kusuma Lourenzi, Mr. Chaidir. As social institutions Buddha Tzu Chi in Padang City is very helpfully to solve the social problems that have been found in society. If look at the point of Buddha Tzu Chi Institutions in Padang City, it was stand up by peoples Tionghoa, it is something unique where minority of people can participated in social activities.The result of research’s shows that 1) Buddha Tzu Chi Institutions in Padang City was valid as one as Institutions based on Notary Public Certificates Number 109 due to opening the official of relationships / representatives Buddha Tzu Chi Institutions of Indonesia Number C-HT.01.09-46 dates one September two thousands and three (1-9-2003) Number 4, it was print out by notary public Dr. Irawan Soerodjo, SH, M.Si, as notaries in Jakarta. 2) As independent institutions, Buddha Tzu Chi Institutions in Padang City have a backgrounds that the pioneers wishes to serve of themselves to help and solves social problems of society by focusing to social problems areas. The Progress of these institutions from 2003 until 2013 it was carry out of many wisdoms including about chooses and appointment of the staff institutions that doing based from the results of consultations in one time from five years. 3) As social institutions, Budha Tzu Chi also participated to solve social problem in some part of society lives by pour some helping with doing activities likes; activity in charities, activity consultation of healthy, activity in educations, and also activity in everlasting areas.

Abstract

ABSTRAKThe research background by mathematis communications skills of students is still low and willingness of students to ask and express ideas in learning is low. The research to aim for to know  mathematis communications skills with apply The Learning Cell strategy with Quiz better then conventional learning and to know development mathematis communications skills of students with apply The Learning Cell strategy with Quiz student of class VIII MTsN Lembah Gumanti. This type of research is exsperimental research by design randomized trial on the subject. Population in the study were students of class VIII B and a control class VIII C. Instruments used in the study is quiz and final test in the form of essays. The type of the test is essay with reliabilitas 0,94. Hypotesis test to used t-test with MINITAB P-value 0,009 means less than a = 0,05, the hypothenical in this study received. So by applying The Leraning Cell strategy with Quiz better then by matematis communication skills of students with conventional learning student of VIII MTsN Lembah Gumanti.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research are motivated by lack of cooperation among student and student comprehension of matematical concept that still low.The purpose of this research is to determine wether students comprehension of mathematical concept by using cooperatif learning type Think Pair Share is better than students comprehension of mathematical concept by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 16 Padang. This was an experimental research with random to subject design. The population of this research is students class VIII of SMPN 16 Padang, except class VIII 1 because it’s a superior class. The sample of this research are class  VIII.3 as experiment class and class VIII.4 as control class, the instrument used is test comprehension of mathematical concept in the form of essays with r11 = 0,88. Based on the result of data anayisis, it was revealed that mean of value experiment class is higher than mean value of control class. Hypotesis test used MANN- WHITNEY, because the sample data has not normally distributed. From the calculation, it was obtained that Z = -2,056 have possibility under H0 of P = 0,1970, because it was smaller than  = 0,05, then H0 was rejected and HI was received. Based on the hypotesis test, it can be conclude that students’ comprehension of mathematical concept by using cooperatif learning type Think Pair Share is better than students’ comprehension of mathematical concept by using conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe background of this research by understanding the concept of mathematical student in learning mathematics is still low and the lack of cooperation among students in understanding the material provided. The purpose of this study was determine whether students understanding of mathematical concept with application of cooperative learning student achievement team division (STAD) better than student understanding of mathematical concept with conventional learning. This type research is experimental  conducted with the subject randomized study design.  Instrument used in the study is the final test in the form of essays. With the realibity test 0,826. Based on the analysis of data obtained t, 4,18 ≥ 1,7127 then reject H0 with H1 received. It can be concluded that the students understanding of matematics concepts with the implementation of cooperative learning student team achievement division (STAD) better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with convensional learning on students class IX SMPN 1 Lubuk Sikaping

Abstract

 ABSTRACT           This research bagkground by mathematics learns student result at SMPN 14 Padang still lower. This represent one of the factor that able to indicate that students domination to understanding of mathematical concept also still lower. This research type is experiment research, with research design random to subject. Population in this research is VIII class student in the year of Lesson 2013 / 2014. Intake of sample technique is random, the chosen sample class is VIII.3 class is experiment and VIII.7 class as control class. Instrument which is used in this research is final learn test in the form of essay with problem reliability 0,80. Data analyze technique that used is t test one party with MINITAB program. Pursuant to result of data analysis is obtained mean of result of learning experiment class student is 70,28, higher if compared to class control that is 59,75. The hypotesis examination use MINITAB program with t test, is obtained P-Value = 0,029 < is specified that is 0,05. So, can be concluded that understanding of mathematical concept studen applying of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperatif studying better than the understanding of mathematical concept control class student with convensional study at VIII Class SMPN 14 Padang at trust level 95% (  = 0,05).

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the understanding of the mathematical concept of class XI students of SMAN 1 Kamang Magek are still low and students are less active in the learning process. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing Cooperative Learning Model Type of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This research is an experimental study. The population in this study was a class XI student of SMAN 1 Kamang Magek 2013-2014 school year. Sampling technique was randomly selected and the experimental class IPA2 XI and class control IPA1 . Instrument used in this study is the understanding of the concept in the form of a test with a reliability test essay R11 = 0.73. Hypothesis test results, obtained using a t-test p-value equal to 0.0038 which is smaller than (α) = 0:05, then the hypothesis in this study received, so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts with the model type of cooperative learning Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) better understanding of the mathematical concepts with conventional learning students in class XI Science SMAN 1 Kamang Magek.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research background by the students’ not focus when the teacher explain a matery ability and student’s understanding of mathematical consept was low, then students lazy to note about subject when the teacher explain it. This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Guided Note Taking active learning strategy assisted with a quiz was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 8 Sijunjung. This was an experimental research. Based on the result of data analysis, it was figured out that the students’ mathematics conceptual understanding kept improving from a meeting to the next one. In addition, the result of hypothesis test showed that P-value (0,005) was smaller than  = 0,05 indicating that the hypothesis was accepted on 95% of realibility. Based on the result, it was concluded tha the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Guided Note Taking active learning strategy assisted with a Quiz was better tha that of students taught by using conventional learnig.
