Abstract

The research is in background by low students understanding of mathematical concept. This research aimed to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts using Survey, Question, Read, Recite And Review (SQ3R) method better than using the conventional learning in grade VIII  MTsN Durian Tarung Padang.This type of research is experiment research with a random design on the subject. The population in this research were all students grade VIII MTsN Durian Tarung Padang. The sampling technique is random sampling. Technique analysis date used is test-t one side. The data analisys which tvalue= 2.52 is greather than ttable = 1.65. It can be concluded that students understanding of mathematical concepts using Survey, Question, Read, Recite And Review (SQ3R) method better than using the conventional learning in grade VIII  MTsN Durian Tarung Padang with the level of confidence  95%.

Abstract

This research was stimulated by the backgraund of lower students’ activity in learning mathematic and their comprehension about the math concept at the class VIII SMPN I IV Jurai of South Pesisir Was Still Lower. The objective of this research are: 1) to know whatever the students’ teaching activity by using active teaching strategy of Firing Line Tipe provided with Handout. 2) To Know whatever the students’ comprehension of math concepety by using active teaching stategy of Firing Line type provided with Handout was better than students’ comprehension of math by using conventional teaching. The type of this research was experimental research was all students at the class VIII SMPN I IV Jurai of South Pesisir period 2013/2014 consisted four classes. Technique of taking sample was done randomly by selecting the class was VIII4 as exsperimental class and VIII2 control class. This research used intrument of observation sheets and students’ comprehension of mathematic concept test. This formh of test used essay by reliability test score R11=0,91. Based on the observation result can be concluded that the implementation of active teaching strategy of Firing Line type provided with Handout can improve students’ activity in teaching, especially students Y who work yhe problem from students X have increased from 83% become 95%. The result of hypothesis by using t-test was obtained p-value = 0,002 less than  = 0.05. Thus the hypothes in this research was accepted with the confidence level 95%. Therefore can be concluded that the students’ comprehension about mathematic concept by using active teaching strategy of Firing Line type provided with Handout was better than students’ comprehension of math concept by using conventional teaching model toward student at the class VIII SMPN I IV Jurai of South Pesisir.

Abstract

The research was motivated by difficulties of students’ comprehension of the material individually or students’ math concept at eight  grade of SMPN 2 Bayang that apply cooverative learning Change Pair technigue better than students’ comprehension  of math concept that apply conventional learning. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design.  The data analysis technique used is T-Test . Techniques of data analysis were performed using one-way t test. Based on the analysis of data obtained t of 4.95 is greater than the amount specified t table 1.64. Then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, students’ comprehension of math concept that apply cooperative learning Change Pair technigue better than students’ comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning.

Abstract

This research are less of the student’s activity and the low of the student’s comprehention mathematics concept in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to know how the student’s activity  during learning process that apply technique Quick on The Draw and to determine that students comprehension mathematical’s concept by implementation of technique Quick on The Draw  better than students comprehension mathematical’s concept by implementation conventional learning in the class VIII SMPN 2 Rao Pasaman. The research type is experimental research, and the design was subject with a random. The population this research are students of class VIII SMPN 2 Rao Pasaman Academic Year 2012/2013. Samples were taken at random. The instrument in this research are observation sheet and final test students comprehension mathematical’s concept. The test form of essay test with reliability test 0,83. Based on result of analysis observation sheet gain that the student more active during learning process that apply technique Quick on The Draw. The data analysis section  is U Mann-Whitney test by using Minitab. Hypotesis of research accepted because p-value  less than 0,05. Thus, it can be concluded that students comprehension mathematical’s concept by implementation of technique Quick on The Draw better than students comprehension mathematical’s concept by implementation conventional learning in the class VIII SMPN 2 Rao Pasaman Academic Year 2012/2013..

Abstract

The research was background by matematics concept comprehension class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Padang is still lacking. The purpose of this study to determine whether students matematics concept comprehension by Questions Students Have Applying strategy better than the students matematics concept comprehension by applying conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research. The study population was all eighth grade students enrolled Muhammadiyah 6 Padang school year 2012/2013. Sampling technique is random. The instrument used in this study is to test the indicators of matematics concept comprehenson, a test that is used is a form of essay with a reliability test is   0.86. Techniques of data analysis using t-test of the party. Based on the obtained hypothesis test thitung = 2, 75 > ttabel = 1, 67, then the hypothetical in this study received. It can be concluded that the students matematics concept comprehension that apply Questions Students Have beter than the students matematic concept comprehension using conventional learning.

Abstract

The research is introduced by the lack of the students understanding of mathematical concept and students prefer to copy paste their friends exercise without paying attention it is right or wrong. This research is aimed to know the students understanding of mathematicalconcept by using learning model of Cooperative type Numbered Heads with LKS better than the students understanding concept by using conventional learning at class IX SMP PERTI Padang. The type of this research is experiment. Population in this research is students class IX SMP PERTI Padang who registered in academic year 2013/2014 that consists of three class. The tecgnique of sampling is random and selected class IX.1 as an experimental class and class IX.2 as control class. Insrument used was final test contain mathematical concept umderstanding indicators in the from of essay. Technique of data analysis used was Mann-Withney test with MINITAB sofware. Based on the hypothesis obtained P-value = 0,003, because p-less than α = 0,05 so the hypotesisis accepted the students understanding of mathematical concept by using Cooperative type Numbered Heads learning with LKS is better than students understanding mathematical concept by using conventional learning at class IX SMP PERTI Padang.

Abstract

In this research , as background of the study is low achievement of student in SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan. The purpose of study is to determine: whether are the result of using cooperative type Think Pair Share is better than using the conventional learning in the teaching process. The kind of study is experimental research. Population of the study was VIII grade of SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan especially academic years 2012/2013. The researcher chosen the sample by using random sampling technique, the samples were VIII.3 and VIII.1. In collecting data, the researcher used the instrument by giving achievement test. The test is essay form that has reliability about = 0,89. In addition, analyzing data that had been done by using t test. Based on the hypothesis testing is gotten P-value = 0,010 < . In this case, the hypothesis can be received. It can be concluded that using cooperative type of the Think Pair Share is better than using conventional learning in teaching process.

Abstract

The background of this research is motivated by the shy students comprehension of mathematical concept class VIII SMPN 1 Bayang academic year 2013/2014. This study aims to determine whether students math concept comprehension by applying Active Learning types of Learning Starts With a Question better than student math concept comprehension with conventional learning. This type of research is experimental with the population of grade VIII SMPN1 Bayang academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, with VIII.1 as experimental class and VIII.3 as control class . Instrument used in this study is a test of  math concept comprehension in the form of essays with a reliability test R11 = 0,75 , data analysis technique used is the one party t test with the help of software MINITAB. Based on the analysis of data obtained by the average post-test experimental class students is 76.26 higher than the control class it is 63.65 and the classes is normally distributed samples at significance level (α) = 0,05. From the results obtained hypothesis test p-value = 0,005 , then the hypothesis in this study received , so it can be concluded that the students math concept comprehension by learning the type of Active Learning types of Learning Starts With a Question better than the students math concept comprehension with conventional learning in class VIII SMPN1 Bayang academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

This research based of the students’ mathematical concept comprehension is low and they do not dare to ask one question to their teacher.  The purpose of this research is to know whether the students’ mathematical concept comprehension by applying the strategy of Learning Starts With A Question is better than that using the conventional learning at the grade-IX class of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. The type of research is an experiment with design random on the subject. The testing of hypothesis is made using one side t test with an assistance of MINITAB software; it is obtained that P-value is 0,036 being smaller than α of 0,05. Thus, the proposed hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the students’ mathematical concept comprehension by applying the Learning Starts with A Question strategy is better than that using the conventional learning at the grade-IX class of SMPN 2 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat.

Abstract

This research based on isconceptual mathematic students’ comprehension which still low. One way to increase the conceptual mathematic student by using GivingQuestionsand Getting Answer (GQGA) strategy. This research was done to know how student activity in applying GivingQuestionsand Getting Answer (GQGA) strategy in mathematic learning and the influenceof applying GivingQuestionsand Getting Answer (GQGA) strategy on conceptual mathematic students comprehension. This research use experimental research, which used subject random. The instrument which is used in this research was final test in essay formed with test reability r11 = 0,88. The technique of data analysis was t-test straightly. The result of hypothesis test was receivedα = 0,05  and hypothesis tests was, so hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that the comprehension of conceptual mathematic student in applying GivingQuestionsand Getting Answer (GQGA) strategy is better than comprehension of conceptual student in conventional learning.Â
