Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was intended to reveal what the students’ learning motivation by applying Everyone is A Teacher Here (ETH) active learning strategy accompanied with Icebreaker was and whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using ETH active learning strategy accompanied with Icebreaker was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research. The population of the research was the students in class VII of SMPN 2 Pariaman. The instruments of the research were questionnaire and posttest. The data gotten then was analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. Furthermore, the result of t-test showed that the value of tcalculated was higher than ttable. Thus it was concluded that the use of Everyone is A Teacher Here (ETH) active learning strategy could motivate the students to learn.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Background of this research are the student disable to share their knowledge with their friends in the classroom, and the students understanding of mathematical concepts  are  still  low,  the  solution  is  the  researcher  try  to  apply  an  active learning strategy tipe synergetic teaching. This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by using active learning strategies synergetic type of teaching better than students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning of the eight grade students at SMPN   2   Batang   Anai   Academic   Year   2013/2014.   This   research   is   an experimental study with random trials on the subject. The population in this study were students of the eight grade at SMPN 2 Batang Anai. Based on the analysis of data obtained P-value = 0,039 was smaller than α = 0,05 then reject H0, so the research hypothesis was accepted. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying active learning strategies synergetic type of teaching better than students understanding of mathematical concepts  with  conventional  learning  of  the  eight  grade  students  at  SMPN  2Batang Anai Academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The background of this research by the students lack of understanding of mathematic concept that students look at mathematics learning outcomes of students at class XI Engineering of SMKN 8 Padang and the students lack the opportunity to share knowledge with friends. This research to determine the students understanding of mathematical concepts are taught with active learning strategies type synergetic Teaching using Speed Test better than understanding of mathematical concepts students by conventional teaching student at class XI Engineering of SMKN 8 Padang academic year 2013/2014. This research is an experimental study, the design of randomized trials on the subject. The population in this study were all students of class XI Engineering SMK 8 Padang listed school year 2013/2014 which consists of four classes. To determine the experimental class and control class is done at random, so the class XI TKJ 1 elected as experiment class  and class XI TKJ 2 as control class. The instrument used in this study is a test student understanding of mathematical concepts. Form of the test used is a form of essay test with reliability 0.82.  Based on the results of the analysis of the data found that both classes of normally distributed and homogeneous samples. To test the hypothesis used the t test with MINITAB, obtained P-value = 0.007. Since the P-value is smaller than α = 0.05, then reject H0. It can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts with active learning strategies type synergetic Teaching Using Speed Test better than comprehension of mathematical concepts students with conventional learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research is base on the students understanding of mathematical concept are still low and students’ not interest in learning mathematical. This research was aimed to determine actyvity study of student and whether students’ understanding of mathematical concept by implementing cooperative  model type student teams achievement division better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept than the implementing of conventional learning in class MTsN Air Bangis  school. This was an experiment research and applied random research toward the subject. Based on the perceived data analysis, the class sample has normally distributed and homogeneus. Hypothesis test result obstained = 2,00216 so the research hypothesis was accepted.  It can be concluded of actyvity of study point of out level from meeting first until third, and down by meeting four. And the student’s understanding of mathematical concept by implementing cooperative  model type student teams achievement division better than the students’ understanding of mathematical concept than the implementing of conventional learning in class MTsN Air Bangis  school.

Abstract

                                                   ABSTRACT This  research was carried out due to the students’ low understanding on mathematics concept. This research was designed for revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Study Group active learning type was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII of SMPN 1 Hiliran Gumanti. This was an experimental research. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. In addition, the result of t-test showed that the value of tcalculated (3,82) was higher than ttable (1,645) indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Hence, it was concluded that he mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Study Group active learning type was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VII of SMPN 1 Hiliran Gumanti.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the lack of results of learning mathematics class XI IPS Padang SMAN 14 school year 2013/2014. This problem can be seen from the study of mathematics is still focused on teacher, students just listen and record the subject matter without understanding the material, students are less motivated to learn mathematics, comprehension of the concept of mathematical ability of students is still low, and equitable distribution of responsibility in the discussion is still less. This study aims to determine whether students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning techniques ‘Kancing Gemerincing’ with Student Worksheet (LKS) is better than the students comprehension of concepts with conventional learning in social studies class XI student of SMAN 14 Padang. This research is a research experiment. The population in this study were all students of class XI social SMAN 14 Padang and who is enrolled in the school year 2013/2014. The sampling technique is random sampling, XI IPS 3 selected as the experimental class and  XI IPS 4 as the control class. The instrument used  in this research is the final test study with reliability 0.92. Based on the analysis of data, average student learning outcomes experimental class is 74.88 with standard deviation 11.14 and the average value of the control class is 54.83 with a standard deviation  22.64. Because the two classes are normally distributed sample is not homogeneous but the data was analyzed by statistical test  where  = 3.9081 so that the research hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning techniques ‘Kancing Gemerincing’ with Student Worksheet (LKS) better comprehension of the concept of the conventional learning on students a class XI IPS student of SMA Negeri 14 Padang at the level of 95%.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT The background of This research is students understanding of mathematical concepts are still low, inactive, unwilling to issue an opinion, and do not want to ask one way around that is to implement a strategy PQ4R. This study aims to look at the activity in the learning of mathematics students and whether students understanding of mathematical concepts using PQ4R strategy better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts with conventional learning. This type of research is experimental research, the research design Against Random subject. The study population students of class VIII SMPN 11 South Solok academic year 2013/2014. Technique of random sampling, VIII.1 class was selected as the experimental class and the control class VIII.2. The instrument used in this study is the ultimate test of understanding of mathematical concepts and observation of student activity sheets. Form of the test used was obtained about the form of essays and reliable. The data analysis technique used is the t test of the party with the help of MINITAB software. Based on the analysis of data it is known that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at significance level α = 0.05. Hypothesis test results obtained P-value = 0.001 less than the significance level α = 0.05, the research hypothesis is accepted so it can be concluded that the students understanding of mathematical concepts using PQ4R strategy better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts using conventional learning class VIII SMP 11 South Solok, at 95% confidence level .

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis research aimed to know understanding the mathematic concept of students XI grade IPA in SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman by using active learning Strategy tipe peer lesson is better than conventional learning. The type of this research is experimental research by design randomized subject. The population of this research is students of XI grade IPA in SMAN 1 Sungai Limau . The technique taked the sample is random, as an experimental class XI IPA1 and a control class XI IPA3. Istruments used in the study is final test in the form of essays. Tne Data obtained in the analysis by using a normality test, homogeneity test and t-test. Based on the analysis of the data found that the two classes are normally distributed and homogeneous samples at the level of α = 0,05 and the results obtained from testing the hypothesis P-value = 0,003 means less than α = 0,05, the hypothetical in this study received. So by applying active learning strategy tipe peer lesson is better than the students understanding matematic concept with conventional learning students of XI grade IPA in SMAN 1 Sungai Limau Kabupaten Padang Pariaman 2013/2014 school year with a 95% confidence level.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Index Card Match active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The population of the research was all of students in class VIII of SMPN 17 Padang registered in Academic Year 2013/2014. The data of the research was analyzed by using t-test. The result of t-test indicated that the value of tcalculated was bigger than ttable on the level of significance α=0,05. Based on the result of data analysis, H0 was rejected signifying that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Index Card Match active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 17 Padang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The  background of this research is that the students mathematical concept apprehensions are low and the students like to ask to her friends reather than to teachers. So low students learning out comes VIII-grade of SMPN 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan of year 2013/2014. The purpose of this research is to know whether the students mathematical concept apprehensions by applying the snowball throwing cooperative learning model is better than using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan. This is experimental research with random to subject design. The population in this research is the VIII-grade students of SMPN 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan. The technique of sample classes were determined randomly. The instrument used in this research is test for the mathematical concept apprehension. Based on the result of data analysis, it is know that both sample classes distribute normally and homogenously. So that the hypothesis is accepted, that means that the students mathematical concept apprehension. Using the snowball throwing cooperative learning model is better than that using the conventional learning for the VIII-grade students of SMPN 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan
