Abstract

International trade is an essential aspect of every country's economy. Economic benefits and domestic growth are achieved through the opening of trade with other nations. These impacts arise directly from changes in resource allocation and efficiency and indirectly through higher levels of investment. The Fourth Industrial Revolution has also fundamentally transformed the way people live, work, and create value worldwide. New technologies and applications connect individuals, organizations, and machines at an unprecedented scale and speed. This qualitative research employs data collection techniques sourced from books, journals, theses, official documents, reports, and websites relevant to the study. The research also adopts a mercantilist perspective with an analysis at the nation-state level, incorporating the concepts of national interest and competitive strategy. The findings of this study indicate that PT Bukit Asam’s strategy successfully enhanced operational performance by producing competitive outputs in 2023. This success resulted from efficient production methods and strong production performance supported by mining contractor services. Keywords: China, Coal, PT Bukit Asam, Global Market

Abstract

Coffee is one of the most potential natural resources in Indonesia. Coffee is present in the Australian market with many enthusiasts because of its diverse taste, Indonesia realizes national interests through trade promotion activities, market penetration, education that makes it easier for coffee exporters, and opens discussions on coffee trade opportunities in the Australian market. This study uses the concept of commercial diplomacy and the perspective of liberalism with a nation-state level of analysis. This concept will explain complex diplomatic and commercial relations, cooperation, and how to influence foreign economic policy. Commercial diplomacy is an activity carried out by representatives of countries with diplomatic status in order to promote business between the home country and the host country. The research method used is a qualitative method with data collection techniques obtained from literature studies. The results of this study indicate that the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) plays a very important role in promoting coffee to Australia in 2023 through various commercial diplomacy strategies according to Naray. Commercial diplomacy in the study applies several commercial diplomacy indicators that have been focused on by the author such as: Communication (Through Exhibitions), Referral (Through Business Meetings), Co-ordination (Through Coordination with Various Diplomatic Actors), Advocacy (Managing Exports by Following Australian Government Regulations). Abstract

This study aims to find out the Management of Main Facilities at Re Caffe Platinum as One of the Culinary Tourism Destinations in Pekanbaru, and to find out the obstacles faced by Re Caffe Platinum in managing the main facilities. In this study, the method used by the author is a qualitative method with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Key informants in this study were the vice direction, manager, members, and visitors of Re Caffe Platinum. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that facility management aims to ensure that facilities and infrastructure can function optimally, facility management at Re Caffe Platinum has five stages, namely planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling. There are several obstacles that occur in the stages of managing the main facilities, but Re Caffe Platinum can still overcome them so that the management of Re Caffe Platinum facilities continues to run well. It's just that the main facilities of the outdoor dine-in area behind still need improvement. Keywords: Management, Facilities, Re Caffe Platinum

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the actions taken by the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) of Riau Province in the reconstruction process of the Selensen–Kotabaru Road in Indragiri Hilir Regency during 2022–2023. The road reconstruction is part of the regional government's efforts to improve inter-regional connectivity and support local economic growth. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews with relevant parties, field observations, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the actions of the PUPR Office of Riau Province included technical planning, budgeting, project implementation, and work supervision. However, the implementation process faced several challenges, such as geographic conditions, budget limitations, and extreme weather, which slowed down the construction. Despite these obstacles, efforts to accelerate development were made through cross-sector coordination and adjustments to the work schedule. Overall, the road reconstruction showed significant progress over a two-year period and had a positive impact on community mobility and the distribution of agricultural products. Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has driven the transformation of traditional government towards a digital-based government system or e-government. Village governments are required to be able to follow this development in order to improve the quality of effective, efficient, transparent, and accountable public services. However, in reality, many villages still face challenges in the process of implementing e-government. Pagaruyung Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency, is one example where the implementation of e-government has not been running optimally. The available village website only provides basic information, and has not been able to provide online public services. Based on these problems, this study aims to describe the readiness of Pagaruyung Village in developing e-government and identify the challenges faced in its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews and documentation studies. The study was analyzed using the theory of Indrajit (2007) with three main indicators: support, capacity, and value. The results of the study indicate that the readiness of Pagaruyung Village is still in the early stages. The village website has not been used as a means of online public services, and only provides general information. The main challenges faced include limited internet networks, minimal special budget for technology development, low human resource capacity in the field of information technology, and the absence of special regulations at the village level that regulate e-government management. Abstract

This study aims to determine how the waiter service is at SadaaResto, Labersa Hotel & Convention Center Toba, Balige, North Sumatra. Excellent service is the main key in creating customer satisfaction, especially in the hotel industry. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants consist of hotel management, waiters, and consumers who have used Sadaa Resto services. The results of the study indicate that the waiter service at Sadaa Resto has reflected several dimensions of service quality such as physical evidence (tangible), empathy, responsiveness, reliability, and assurance. Waiters at Sadaa Resto show a friendly, professional, and responsive attitude to customer complaints. However, several obstacles such as late serving and supporting facilities that still need to be improved were also found. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of waiters in forming a positive dining experience and contributing to customer loyalty and the overall image of the hotel. Abstract

Clean water is an important element in everyday human life. Providing clean water is one of the responsibilities of the local government to ensure that the community has access to proper clean water. The Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Dumai Bersemai is managed with the main objective to provide clean water services to the people of Dumai City, but in providing its services there has still been no optimal service and many public complaints about the services provided by PDAM in Dumai City. This study aims to describe the quality of clean water provision services by PDAM Tirta Dumai Bersemai in Dumai City in 2023 and to describe the factors inhibiting the quality of clean water provision services by PDAM Tirta Dumai Bersemai in Dumai City in 2023. The research approach used is a qualitative approach using a descriptive research type. The location of this research was conducted at PDAM Dumai City. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and concluding. The results of this study indicate that the quality of clean water provision services by PDAM Tirta Dumai Bersemai in Dumai City is still less than optimal. This can be seen from direct evidence (tangibles) that PDAM Dumai City does not yet have adequate facilities. Likewise, with reliability, there are still many complaints felt by customers. In terms of responsiveness, PDAM Dumai City is less responsive because it does not provide an appropriate response to customer complaints. However, in terms of assurance and empathy, it has been assessed as optimal. The inhibiting factors are budget constraints and suboptimal quality of human resources. Abstract

This research was conducted in RW 13, Umban Sari Village, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City with the background of the problem of the lack of public awareness of environmental issues caused by the role of RT, RW which has not been maximized in disseminating information and encouraging citizen participation, and this program does not yet have sufficient resources to run the program optimally, so this study aims to determine the implementation of the climate village program in RW 13, Umban Sari Village, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City so that new findings can be found related to the implementation of government policies in dealing with the impacts of climate change and obstacles in the implementation of the climate village program in RW 13, Umban Sari Village, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. In collecting data using interview techniques, documentation and mass media. The data analysis technique used in this writing is qualitative data analysis. The theory used is the theory of policy implementation. This research is expected to be a tool for government policies related to disaster adaptation and mitigation efforts originating from climate change. The results of this study are that the communication strategy used in delivering proklim information is effective because community leaders are directly involved in delivering information and activity objectives. Human Resources and Budget for the Implementation of the Climate Village Program are still limited and are more self-help from the community. Support from the government, RT, RW and the community needs to be increased. The program implementation procedure is clear in accordance with the RoadMap ProKlim KLHK DirjenPPI, 2017. Abstract

The politicization of wages and social inequality in Nigeria has become a significant issue over the past decade. Although the African Union (AU) has issued various policies related to social justice and labour welfare, their impact on Nigeria's economic and social conditions remains a topic of debate. This study aims to analyze the role of the AU in responding to the politicization of wages and social inequality in Nigeria between 2012 and 2022. The findings reveal that while the AU has introduced policies to address social inequality and improve labour welfare, their implementation has been hindered by weak coordination with the Nigerian government, a lack of law enforcement, and domestic political interests. As a result, social protests persist, and social inequality continues to be a major issue in Nigeria. The study concludes that the AU needs to strengthen monitoring mechanisms and enforce stricter policies to more effectively address the politicization of wages. Abstract

This study examines the role of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in addressing the food crisis in Ukraine during 2022–2023, triggered by the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine on February 24, 2022. In 2022, Ukraine became the center of attention when a hunger crisis began to hit due to the prolonged conflict, especially due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war. This condition was exacerbated by disruptions to the food supply chain, displacement of residents, and significant damage to agricultural infrastructure. This crisis put millions of people in Ukraine at risk of acute hunger, especially vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly. The theoretical approach used is Clive Archer's theory regarding the role of international organizations as actors. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study technique obtained through the official FAO website, books, journals and official documents. The results of the study show that FAO acts as an independent actor that designs interventions such as the Rapid Response Plan, Ukraine Response Program and provides special post-war training to farmers in Ukraine. This role shows that FAO not only carries out technical tasks, but also plays a strategic role in global food governance. This study concludes that FAO is an international organization that plays an active and complex role in responding to cross-border humanitarian crises.
