Abstract

This research discusses how Greenpeace's efforts to deal with the damage to the Amazon tropical forest due to Brazilian deforestation during the leadership of Jair Messias Bolsonaro during the 2019-2022 period. The average concentration of deforestation during the reign of Jair Bolsonaro increased sharply, this is in line with the report of the Global Crime Index organization in 2022, if deforestation of the Brazilian Amazon tropical forest becomes an important highlight and shapes global dynamics. Greenpeace as an environmental INGO (International Non Governmental Organization) has made a series of efforts to minimize deforestation and its impacts, especially for indigenous peoples. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive research method with a literature study approach. Data and information were collected and analyzed to understand the phenomenon studied. The results showed that Greenpeace Brasil has not succeeded in influencing the Brazilian government's policy towards deforestation control through a series of campaigns and advocacy. Greenpeace Brasil's position as a non-governmental organization has limitations as an initiator, facilitator, mediator and reconciler actor. Therefore, Greenpeace cannot directly change every anti-environmental regulation of the Bolsonaro government. By presenting scientific evidence through various reports, the organization has succeeded in shaping public opinion in favor of deforestation control measures and providing valuable input for policy change. Abstract

This study focuses on Indonesia's public diplomacy during the MotoGP event held in Mandalika from 2022 to 2023. MotoGP is one of the largest motorcycle racing championships in the world, making it an excellent platform for a nation to shape its image. Indonesia was selected as the host country for the MotoGP championship, with Mandalika serving as the venue. Indonesia utilized this opportunity to conduct public diplomacy and nation branding in order to achieve its national interests. The research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing various data collection techniques, such as literature reviews from books, journals, websites, and relevant documents. The study adopts a constructivist perspective, incorporating theories of public diplomacy, nation branding, and analysis at the nation-state level. The findings of this study indicate that Indonesia's public diplomacy efforts were carried out through three main forms: government-sponsored diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, and mass media diplomacy. Additionally, Indonesia engaged in nation branding to shape its image, aiming to foster international perceptions of Indonesia as a country rich in natural resources and diverse tourist destinations, thereby enhancing the nation's tourism potential. Abstract

This study aims to examine how the check-in procedure is implemented by Guest Service Agents (Receptionists) in the Front Office Department of Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru, as well as to identify the obstacles encountered during its implementation. The background of the research highlights the importance of professional check-in services in creating a positive first impression for guests, especially in five-star hotels that face intense competition in the hospitality industry. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The informants consist of the front office manager, supervisor, receptionist, and several hotel guests. The results show that the check-in procedure is generally implemented in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). However, challenges such as limited staff, demanding work schedules, and a lack of training have led to several guest complaints, particularly regarding the hospitality and speed of service. This study concludes that improving service quality and human resource management is essential to achieving optimal guest satisfaction. Abstract

This research is motivated by the findings of a phenomenon related to the distribution of BLT village funds, namely the ineffectiveness of the distribution and data collection of BLT village fund beneficiary families (KPM). This study aims to determine the effectiveness and factors that hinder the Effectiveness of BLT Village Fund Distribution in Pulau Kopung Sentajo Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2023. This research is a qualitative study. Data sources were obtained from twelve research informants through interview techniques. The results of this study found that: The Effectiveness of the Distribution of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) Village Funds in Pulau Kopung Sentajo Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2023 is still not effective, even though the distribution of BLT village funds has been implemented in accordance with PerKaDes Article 1 No. 20 of 2023 concerning BLT, and has been distributed from January to December 2023, but it is still not effective because it has not met the indicators of timeliness and accuracy of targets even though most KPM are eligible as recipients, but because there are still some KPM using family or insiders in the village government. The factors that hinder the Effectiveness of the Distribution of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) Village Funds in Pulau Kopung Sentajo Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency in 2023 are the delay in the distribution of BLT Village Funds. The factor of the attitude of the implementer who is not optimal in recording KPM data and the factor of the absence of socialization from the beginning before the implementation until the distribution of the BLT Village Funds, so that the community, especially KPM, do not clearly understand the intent and purpose of this BLT Village Fund Program. Abstract

Tameran Village is one of the villages that is included in the category of independent villages, related to the availability of infrastructure also supports the welfare of the community, where in Tameran Village itself there are still many complaints from the community regarding the availability of inadequate infrastructure. There are still many potholed roads leading to residents' homes, while these roads are access for residents to earn a living and are a daily route for children to go to school, until now there has been no response from the Village government to try to fix the road. Even though the local government has provided assistance related to village financial assistance of 1 billion, in accordance with Bengkalis Regent Regulation Number 74 of 2021, Article 5 explains that 60% of the funds are used for village development or village infrastructure. The purpose of this study is to describe the Implementation of the Special Village Fund Assistance Policy in an Effort to Improve Infrastructure in Tameran Village, Bengkalis District in 2022-2024. In this study, the theory used is the theory of Edward George III, according to him there are four variables in the policy itself, namely communication, resources, disposition or attitude of the implementer and communication structure. The four variables must be implemented simultaneously because one has a close relationship with the other. The results of this study indicate that the Implementation of the Special Village Fund Assistance Policy in Tameran Village has not been running optimally, because there are influencing factors such as communication, resources, position, and bureaucratic structure, which have caused the process of activities carried out by the village government to not be optimized properly. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of Regent Regulation Number 81 of 2021 by the Kampar Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department in road repairs in Bangkinang Kota District. Repair and maintenance of road infrastructure has an important role in supporting community mobility and regional economic growth. This research uses George C Edward III's theory, divided into 4, namely communication, resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The types of data are primary data and secondary data, primary data is obtained directly from informants. Meanwhile, secondary data is data that supports or strengthens primary data. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews and documentation. There are 4 stages of data analysis techniques used, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that the implementation of Kampar Regent Regulation Number 81 of 2021 has been carried out through several stages, including identifying damaged road sections, preparing repair plans, and implementing road rehabilitation projects. Factors that support the successful implementation of this policy include the existence of clear regulations, human resource support, and supervision carried out by the relevant agencies. However, there are obstacles such as budget limitations, lack of communication and coordination between agencies, and low community participation in monitoring infrastructure projects. Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of ecotourism in Tanjung Belit Village, Riau, as a critical buffer zone for the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Sanctuary. Employing a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, this research explores the potential, challenges, and impacts of ecotourism on conservation and the well-being of the local community. The findings reveal that Tanjung Belit Village possesses significant natural and cultural attractions, yet the implementation of ecotourism remains constrained by limited infrastructure, lack of community participation, and suboptimal promotional strategies. Nevertheless, ecotourism has contributed to improving the local economy, raising conservation awareness, and protecting ecosystems, particularly through local wisdom practices such as Lubuk Larangan. Abstract

The rise of China has been a major determinant in the rise of the Quad initiative and the group's new initiatives in aggressive foreign policy. Australia's approach to the Quad has changed significantly since participating in the Malabar naval exercises in 2007. The formulation of the problem in this study is how Australia's involvement in the Quad (quadrilateral security dialogue) and its implications for Australia's defense and security policy. The purpose of this study is to analyze what interests Australia has in being involved in the Quad and the implications of Australia's membership in the Quad for foreign policy. The theory used is the Alliance Theory. This study uses a qualitative method, with data collection techniques through literature studies sourced from several books, journals, articles, websites. This study uses a document-based research study method, namely a research method carried out by analyzing documents that have a high level of relevance to the topic being studied. Australia in the Quad can collaborate to fund infrastructure projects in the Indo-Pacific, create business opportunities for Australian companies, so that it has an agenda to improve connectivity in the Indo-Pacific region, which includes transportation, communications, and digital trade, so as to grow the economy and strengthen defense and security for Australia itself. Abstract

This study examines the role of the Pekanbaru City General Elections Commission (KPU) in providing political education and encouraging the participation of persons with disabilities in the 2024 General Election. In accordance with Law Number 19 of 2011 on the Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the state is obligated to guarantee the political rights of persons with disabilities. This research adopts Giesecke’s theory of political education, which includes four aspects: Educational Knowledge (Bildungswissen), Orientational Knowledge (Orientierungswissen), Behavioral Knowledge (Verhaltenswissen) — awareness to act, and Action Knowledge (Aktionswissen). A qualitative approach was used, with data collection techniques including interviews and observations. The findings show that the Pekanbaru City KPU has implemented various accessible election outreach programs to provide fundamental understanding (Bildungswissen) and has provided disability-friendly polling stations to support comprehension of the political system (Orientierungswissen). Training for election officers reflects the development of participatory awareness (Verhaltenswissen). However, the aspect of Aktionswissen remains constrained due to budget limitations and low public awareness. This study highlights the importance of collaboration between the KPU, disability organizations, and the broader community to achieve a more inclusive and democratic election process for all groups, including persons with disabilities. Abstract

The quality of a product is very important for a company in the field of pastry, including resorts, it all depends on the role of the person who processes a product. In addition to influencing purchasing decisions, positive reviews also build brand reputation, encourage word-of-mouth marketing, and provide valuable input for product development. This is the reason for the author to conduct research on how to maintain the quality of pastry products at HARRIS Resort Barelang Batam to continue to strive to provide quality products so as to get positive reviews from guests, then one of the resorts where the food products are market snacks are made by themselves and at every event there are always market snacks. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The results of the research on the management of HARRIS Resort Barelang Batam are the determination of quality materials, accurate measurement of materials, the condition of the equipment needed, the use of proper procedures, and product storage procedures. After conducting research at HARRIS Resort Barelang Batam, it can be recommended to HARRIS Resort Barelang Batam, especially the staff of the pastry section to further improve and maintain the quality of pastry products by maintaining the production process according to existing SOP standards. Create unique and attractive pastry products so that guests are satisfied with the results of pastry performance.
