Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of learning physics-based multiple-representations  to train students representation capability in the Newton's Law Subject. The expected benefits of this research is as a basis for further examine the success rate of students by using a lot of other learning approaches. This research was conducted at MAN 1 Pekanbaru precisely in October 2014 to January2015 in  class X Science totaling 29 students. The design of the research is Pre-experimental design form one group pretest-posttest. From the research, based on indicators of Representation ability; formulate information from a representation, the consistency of representation and solve problems using the representation  obtained gain with high category that was declared that learning effectiveness is effective. As for the aspect of forming a new representation  obtained gain in the category medium so that the effectiveness is effective enough. Furthermore, the ability of t students to present the representation seen in various forms of representation;, verbal representation, mathematical representation, and graphs representation obtained gain with high category and for the pictorial representation obtained gain in medium category. Average score of all indicators on the pretest and posttestobtained  gain with  high category. So it can be concluded that learning physics with multiple representations effective to train student representation ability in MAN 1 Pekanbaru class X in Newton’s Law Subject. Abstract

Abstract:Thisresearchaimsto improve students' ability to solve problems in material physics kinematics with vector analysis in class XI IPA1 SMA N 2 TelukKuantan.The subjects were students of class XI IPA1 of 20 people consisting of 7 male students and 13 female students. Data collection instrument in this study is testing the ability of problem solving, observation of teacher performance, and questionnaire feasibility study model.Analysis of the data in this study is a descriptive analysis to see an increase in students' ability to solve physics problems with the indicator to understand the problem, solving plan, implement solutions, and conclude the breakdown.From the analysis of the data showed: the average percentage score on the problem solving ability of pre cycle of 25% with a very low skill level category, in the first cycle the average percentage score of 50.50% problem solving skills with the ability of very low-level category, and the second cycle the average score of 75.50% problem solving ability with moderate skill level category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of problem-based learning learning model can improve the ability to solve problems in a class XI student of physics IPA1 MAN 2 TelukKuantan. Abstract

Abstract: This study was motivated by the low motivation to learn civics student at SMPN 1 Base Dimples Pelalawan. The problem of pene; otian is: "is there a difference motivation to learn civics that using the conventional method socrates seminar at SMPN 1 Base Dimples Pelalawan?". This study aims to determine the difference motivation to learn civics students who use the conventional method socrates seminar in SMP Negeri 1 Base Dimples Pelalawan.Penelitian District was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Base Dimples Pelalawan in January 2015. This study is a descriptive research into population kuantitatifyang in this research is class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Base Dimples Pelalawan. The sample in this study was based technique of "purposive sampling".Where take classes in the sample is VIII A (control group) students were given a lecture, and class VIII B (grade Experiment ) students were given a seminar Socratic method and then the data analysis using the homogeneity test and test "t". Research conducted found that there are differences in student motivation anatara Socratic seminars methods and conventional methods in SMP Negeri 1 Base Dimples Pelalawan (t = 8.8 > table = 1.67). Where there is an average increase motivation to learn civics class control of 23.25 into 24.96 and an average increase motivation to learn civics class experiment of 23.12 to 30.25. Thus the hypothesis which says there is a difference motivation to learn civics that using the conventional method socrates seminar at SMPN 1 Base Dimples acceptable Pelalawan Keywords: Motivation Learning, Socratic Seminar

Abstract

Abstract: The aimof this research was to know whether or not Think-Pair-Share technique could improve students’ ability in writing recount texts and how it could improve the ability. Classroom action research was conducted in two cycles to 34 students of X-2Class of SMAN 03 Pekanbaru as the participant of this research. The data were collected through written test, observation sheet, and field note. This research findings found that Think-Pair-Share technique could improve the students’ ability in writing recount texts. Students’ mean score improved from 54.46 in pre-test to 65.14 in post-test 1, and to 77.64 in post-test 2. It is in line with the activeness of students that improved from 46.08% in cycle 1 to 86.26% in cycle 2. Think-Pair-Share technique helped students in writing the recount texts. It analyzes each part of generic structure of recount text. Think-Pair-Share strategy could motivate the students during teaching and learning process. This research recommended that teachers to use Think-Pair-Share to find out the different effect after using this cooperative learning technique than a conventional technique. Abstract

Abstract: This classroom action research was aimed to find out if the use of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Method could improve the writing ability of the second year students of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru. The participants were 31 students. The procedures applied were: (a) dividing students into pairs, (b) asking students to read to each other the story, (c) asking students to correct their teammates’ error, (d) asking students to answer the questions related to the story in team, (e) asking students to pronounce the difficult words listing, (f) asking students to find the meaning of the difficult words listing, (g) asking students to write a draft composition of narrative texts related to the passage, (h) asking students to edit one’s another’s work by using peer editing, (i) asking students to finish their writing based on their teammates’ revision. The data was collected by using of tests, observation sheets, and field notes. The level of achievement in this research was 85, based on the standard minimum criteria of achievement of English subject in SMAN 4 Pekanbaru. The research finding showed that  the implementation of applying CIRC as the teaching method could improve students’ writing ability both at the first, second, and third cycle. Based on the data analysis that is obtained, the students’ score was improve from 60,32 in the pre-test, to 74,62 in post-test 1, to 83,29 in post-test 2, and up to 87,68 in post-test 3. Therefore, the implementation of CIRC method could improve students’ writing ability of the second year students of SMAN 4 Pekanbaru.   Keywords: CIRC Method , Writing Ability, Narrative Text

Abstract

Abstract:The research is a classroom research that was conducted based on the problem occurred at the seventh grade students of SMP 34 Pekanbaru; namely the students were lack in speaking that influence them got poor sore in test. Therefore, this research was aimed at studying the improvement on the ability of the seventh grade students of SMP 34 Pekanbaru in speaking by using picture series. Besides, vocabulary is mostly improved after being taught by using picture series. The participants were 40 students from VII 4 of SMP 34 Pekanbaru. This research was conducted in three cycles. The data collection technique was obtained through (1) observation sheet which was applied to know the students and teacher performance during the teaching and learning process, (2) test was done to measure students’ achievement, and (3) field note was obtain information about teacher, the students activities and performance in the teaching and learning process during the implementation of picture series. The research finding can briefly explain as follow: first the student’s students speaking ability could be improved by using Picture series. Before the research was done, the average score of students was only 56,5 in pretest. After the research was done for cycle 1,it improved to 65,4. Then, In cycle 2 increased up to 70,3 and in cycle 3 up again to 76,8. Second, the observation sheet and field note result showed that the used of picture series make the teaching process more effective and it also helped students’ improve their speaking ability and more active in learning process. This improvement happened because this picture series method is appropriate to be applied to the class. Keyword: Picture Series, Students’ Speaking Ability

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research was intended to find out the ability of the first year students of Al-Uswah Pekanbaru. in reading poetry. The problem in this research is how the student’s ability in reading poetry consists of the aspects of vocal precision, intonation, and appreciation (expression). The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with the sample were 44 students of the first year of MTs Al-Uswah Pekanbaru. The data was collected by provide a test reading text of the poem to the sample, and then provide an assessment in accordance with the assessment criteria that have been established, then look for the percentage, mean, two different tests, standard deviation, and standard deviation for each aspect combined assessed and a recapitulation result of data analysis. The research finding showed that (1) the ability to read poetry in aspects of vocal accuracy category with the average being 60.99, equivalent to 76.24 per cent (2) the ability to read poetry in intonation aspect being categorized with the average of 47.26, equivalent to 78 , 77 percent (3) the ability to read poetry in the aspect of appreciation (expression) low category with a mean of 41.22, equivalent to 68.71 percent. Overall, it can be concluded that the ability of the first year students of Al-Uswah Pekanbaru. in reading poetry is categorized with average 143.59 (for two poems), equivalent to 71.80 percent. Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study titled The Effective Reading Speed class XI student of SMA Negeri 2 Tembilahan, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The problem in the study of how fast effective reading is, there any difference in the effective speed reading samples per group, per rank, per ethnic, per department and per gender is. The method used is descriptive method, with a total sample of 146 students in class XI SMA Negeri 2 Tembilahan. Data collection techniques to provide a test reading paragraphs exposition, consisting of four topics, such as Religion, Sports, Education and Environment. Every topic paragraph exposition consists of 60-160 wpm. The time process of reading paragraph is calculated by the researchers. After that, the students were given a multiple choice test consisting of five questions and five answers per topic selection. Then researchers correcting students’ answer sh using the reading speed formula. To know there any difference is in the speed of reading per group of samples, per rank, per ethnic, calculated using ANOVA. Per department, and per gender, calculated using the t test. If ANOVA rejected, counting is used again with the t test. Based on the research, the result that (1) the speed of effective reading low category (2) the speed of effective reading per different sample group, science class in speed reading higher than social class, the reading speed of science class is low category and social class is very low category (3) The speed Effective reading per rank is different, the first is high category ranking and the second ranked low category, ranking third category is very low (4) The effective reading speed per ethnic is the same or no difference (5) the effective reading speed by different departments, the speed reading of science majors (141 , 27 as low category) is higher than the social majors (114.99 as very low category) (6) effective reading speed per gender, women effective speed reading higher 136.86) than men (120.67) but as same as low category. Overall, it can be concluded that the effective speed reading class XI student of SMAN 2 Tembilahan Indragiri Hilir Regency has low category which is between 120-150 wpm.
