Abstract

Abstract: The problem in this study was obtained during sparring and training, namely the athlete had difficulty reaching the ball that would fall far from his standing position and could not change direction quickly when performing several techniques such as defense and bloc so that the opponent could generate points easily. The purpose of the study was to see the effect of cone drill exercises on agility. This type of research was an experiment to see the effect of the form of exercise. The population in this study was the athletes of the junior men's volleyball club, Swadaya Pekanbaru, which amounted to 11 people. The sampling technique is total sampling, in which the total population is sampled. The data collection method was carried out with two tests, namely an initial test (pree-test) before doing the cone drill exercise and a final test (post-test) after doing the cone drill exercise, for 16 meetings three times a week with a total sample of 11 people. The instrument in this study used agility t-test. The analysis was carried out using a t-test, based on the t-test analysis yielded Tcount > Ttable. The results of the hypothesis test showed that there was a significant effect of cone drill (X) training on the agility (Y) of the junior male volleyball club athlete of Swadaya Pekanbaru.Key Words: Practice Cone Drill, Agility, Volleyball

Abstract

Abstract: This reserach aimed at finding out the most common problems in writing experienced by the third year students of English Study Program FKIP Universitas Riau. This research is a descriptive quantitative with survey and the population of the survey is 110 third year students of English Study Program FKIP Universitas Riau. A questionnaire was used to collect the data to find out most common problems in writing of the students. The questionnaire contained 21 statements and divided into 2 groups: internal problems (Organization, Spelling, Grammar and Capitalization) and external problems (Learners’motivation, teachers feedback and inadequate time) with 9 items. The questionnaire was accessed online via google forms. Every statement in questionnaire used 5 point Likert-Scale start from strongly agree to strongly disagree. The result showed the most problem in writing experienced in internal problem is spelling problem with 229.3 average points. The other problems are: organization problem with 217.3 average points, grammar problem with 213.6 average points and the last is capitalization 195 average points . The most problems in external problem is inadequate time with 246 average points. The other problems learners’ motivation with 243.3 average points and teachers’ feedback with 218 average points.Key Words: Survey, Writing, Writing problems.

Abstract

Abstract: This study in the wake increasing human life expectancy to the number of elderly continues to increase but not accompanied by an increase in social welfare service various fields for the elderly, as a result many elderly need based on government regulation number 43 of 2004 has not been fulfilled so many elderly has problem in the implementation of the social function and cannot life decent and dignified life in. the formulation of the problem for this study is how the implementation of government regulation Number 43 of 2004 concerning in the implementation of effort to instruct social welfare for elderly in the Batam City? This study aims to determine the implementation of effort to improve the social welfare of the elderly in the Batam City based on government regulation number 43 of 2004. Sampling technique using purposive sampling with the number of respondent 45 persons, consisting of 2 employees of social service and cemetery in Batam, 3 nursing home manager, 20 elderly persons from nursing home and 20 elderly persons non nursing home. These data were collected through questioner, interview and observation technique. Data were analyses using descriptive quantitative. Based on the research that the author get, conclude that the implementation of government regulation Number 43 of 2004 concerning in the implementation of effort to instruct social welfare for elderly in the Batam City being in the unfavorable category, the percentage gains in the unfavorable category by 64% and in good category by 36%.Keyword: Implementation, Government Regulation, Welfare, Elderly

Abstract: This study aims to determine the potential of folding poster designs in high school biology subjects for class X Biodiversity material. This research was conducted at the Bina Widya Campus, Riau University in November 2020-April 2021. This research was carried out in three stages: fields survey, processing quantitative data, and the developement of folding poster designs on biodiversity material. Based on the results of the potential analysis, survey of vegetation structure and composition on the Bina Widya campus, Riau University, can be used as folding poster for the sub-material biodiversity: the level of biodiversity.Key Words: Folding Poster, Biodiversity

Abstract

Abstract: The demands of the 21st century that require generations to have the skills needed for a more complex life and work environment are focused on critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration skills. The current Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in a change in the process of teaching and learning activities from face-to-face to online. During the online learning period, activities in the classroom or school laboratory are very limited. However, because learning activities must continue, science learning alternatives are carried out through project-based learning using STEM kits so that students can still carry out home experiments in online learning under teacher monitoring digitally through LMS. The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of STEM project-based science learning to improve critical thinking skills in online junior high school students especially at the deduction aspects. This study uses a quasi-experimental type of research with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The samples taken are the experimental group and the control group from a population of 3 classes. The class that was given treatment with project-based learning used the STEM project kit that called by the experimental group and the control group was given conventional learning. Research data were collected by giving critical thinking skills tests before learning was carried out (pretest) and after learning the simple aircraft material was completed (posttest) using research instruments in the form of critical thinking skills test questions on the deductive aspect.Keywords: Science Learning Based On STEM Projects, Critical Thinking skills, Deduction Aspect

Abstract

Abstract: Character education is a pillar that builds one of the intelligent and quality Indonesian human characters. Based on observations at SMAN 1 Keritang, the authors show an increase in the implementation of character education that can be taken into account by the school in a planned and planned manner. The purpose of the study was to determine the plan, implementation and evaluation of teachers in the history learning process at SMAN 1 Keritang. Qualitative research method with purposive sampling, data collection techniques include: observation, interviews, documentation and triangulation. The research procedure includes orientation, exploration, and checking the truth of the research results. The results showed that (1) the planning stage of SMAN 1 Keritang was able to arrange teaching materials and school conditions with character education nuances. However, the problem of character education for environmental care values is still found waste that is not sorted even though it has not been provided. The problem of teacher readiness itself, periodically and continuously develoving teacher understanding to be able to provide affective teaching materials and patterns; (2) the implementation stage, the teaching atmosphere formed by the teacher is able to develop critical power and the spirit of cooperation between student. It was found that many students were able to develop their reasoning by studying history teachers; (3) the evaluation stage, the history teacher not only pays attention to the cognitive aspects in assessing students, but also the affective and psychomotor aspects. Where has a significant role in providing an assessment of student abilities. In the addition, for students who are not able to reach the minimum threshold set, the history teacher will conduct teaching and evaluation of students outside hours and emotional scores to find out why students have not achieved the expected value.Key Words: Character Education, History Learning.

Abstract

Abstract: As a Japanese learner, reading articles in Japanese is necessary to increase insight into the development of Japanese life in all fields, it can also improve someone's language skills. In learning Japanese there are several skills that are learned, one of them is dokkai. Dokkai (reading comprehension) is an ability that a person has in understanding reading texts and being able to conclude the information received through the reading in his own language. There are several types of Japanese text in learning dokkai, most of them are descriptive text. This research was conducted to determine the level of undestanding descriptive text in 2019 students majoring in Japanese Education, Riau University. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. This research used tests to collect the data. The participants of the research were 33 college students from 2019 students majoring in Japanese Education, Riau University. The result obtained were that understanding test results are still in the low range. Students tend to be able to remember concrete things that appear in the text. However, students are still unable to mention synonyms and explain the contents of the text.Key word : Descriptive Text , Dokkai, Understanding

Abstract

Abstract: The learning tool developed is a group investigation model learning device (Groups Investigation) on sound wave material for junior high school students, consisting of a Lesson Plan (RPP), Student Worksheet (LKPD), and Learning Outcomes Test. Learning Science Physics and validating learning tools for the Group Investigation model (Groups Investigation) on sound wave material. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4-D model design. The research instrument used is the RPP validation assessment sheet, LKPD and Learning Outcomes Test which is used by validators to assess learning tools. Data analysis in this researcher uses descriptive analysis, in a way calculate the validity score of each learning indicator. The average validity of the LKPD is 3.3 with a very high category. the average validity of the Learning Outcomes Test is 3.4 with a very high category, so that the overall average of learning tools is 3.36 with a very high category. Thus, the learning device for the Natural Sciences Physics model of the group investigation (Groups Investigation) is declared valid and suitable for use in sound wave material for junior high school students.Keywords: Physics science learning tools, Group Investigation model(Groups Investigation)

Abstract

Abstract: Domestic waste is one of the source of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) that affect climate change. GHG emissions from the waste sector, including domestic solid waste are generally in the form of methane (CH4) generated from landfills (TPA) and carbon dioxide (CO2) generated from open burning activities. Waste banks have the potential to reduce GHG emissions because they reduce the generation of waste that will be disposed of in the TPA. This study aims to determine the level of reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from waste banks in Pekanbaru City. The research was conducted in Pekanbaru City from March to May 2021. The type of research used was descriptive quantitative research with a total sampling method covering 30 unit waste banks and 1 main waste bank managed by the Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) of Pekanbaru City. The data obtained were analyzed using the IPCC guidelines with accuracy level Tier1. The results showed that the waste bank in the city of Pekanbaru reduce GHG emissions amounted to 0.082 tons of CO2eq (8.37%) in the year 2019 and amounted to 0,018 tons of CO2eq (1.84%) in 2020.Key Words: Waste Banks, Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions, IPCC

Abstract

Abstract: The problems faced today by both teachers and students in learning physics include: the lack of variations in the teacher's teaching methods in delivering material to students, the low motivation of students to learn physics and the lack of media used by teachers in delivering the material. From the problems above, the researchers tried to provide a solution, namely by developing contextual-based teaching materials/media using the exe learning application. Exe learning application technology can be used to design innovative and interesting physics learning media. This contextual-based learning media presents business and energy materials with animations that are more interesting and fun to learn. The form of research carried out is development research with the term Research And Development (R&D) and the model used is ADDIE. This development is guided by high school students who can already think contextually or connect the material studied with students' daily lives. So they catch the lesson faster. The validation results from the validator show that contextual-based learning media using exe learning applications on work and energy theory in class X SMA is valid (teaching materials are as expected).Key Words: Contextual, Exe learning.
