Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to investigate the motivation of class This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study were 195 class The sampling technique in this study was a random sampling technique of 25% of the total population, so the sample in this study was 49 people. The research instrument used was a Likert scale. Based on the research results, the conclusion obtained in this research is: This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The population in this study were 195 class The sampling technique in this study was a random sampling technique of 25% of the total population, so the sample in this study was 49 people. The research instrument used was a Likert scale. Based on the research results. with an average motivation questionnaire score of 67.68%, which is classified as moderate. Abstract

Abstract: This research is about the analysis of word formation processes of the latestupdated words in September 2023 in the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Online Dictionary(OALD). The objective of this research is to identify the types of word formation processes of the latest updated words in September 2023 in the OALD and to find out how the word formation processes occur in the latest updated words in September 2023 in the OALD. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The source of the data is the latest updated words in September 2023 in the Oxford Advanced Learner’s Online Dictionary. The data were collected through document analysis. The instrument of this research is the researcher himself. The technique of data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis. The researcher found 150 words containing word formation processes. There are nine types of word formation processes found in this research, namely borrowing, compounding, clipping, blending, backformation, conversion, acronym, derivation, and multiple processes. The most dominant type of word formation process found in this research is compounding. From 150 data, there are 100 datacontaining compounding.Key Words: word formation processes, latest updated words, online dictionary

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to illustrate the level of basic skills in playing futsal for students who take part in extracurricular football at MAN 2 Pekanbaru. The location of this research was carried out at MAN 2 Pekanbaru's multi-purpose field which is located at Jl. Diponegoro no. 55, Kelurahan Cinta Raja, Sail District, Pekanbaru City, Riau 28131. Overall the level of basic ability to play futsal is owned by students who take part in extracurricular futsal at MAN 2 Pekanbaru with the following classification: Very good category 0 students 0%, Good Category 6 Students are 42.90%, Enough Category 2 Students are 14.30%, Less Category 5 Students are 35.70%, Less Category 1 Student is 7.14%.Keywords: Basic Futsal Skills Level

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to find out the ability level of the second-year studentsof MAS Yayasan Pendidikan Al-Falah in comprehending descriptive and narrative textsand also to investigate the aspect that is easy to understand (the highest score) ofnarrative and descriptive texts in students learning at MAS Yayasan Pendidikan Al-Falah. The researcher used a cluster random sampling technique to decide the sample.The total sample is 46 students, from class XI IPA 1 and XI IPS 2. A test was applied tocollect data. There were 48 multiple-choice reading questions with 3 descriptive and 3narrative texts. The finding shows that the student’s ability in reading comprehension isat different levels, but most students are at mediocre levels, both in descriptive andnarrative text. Meanwhile, the aspect that gets the highest score in the descriptive text isin Guessing inference (I), and in the narrative text is in General Structure (GS).Key Words: Reading Comprehension Ability, Descriptive Text, Narrative Text

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out how fast. Sickle Kick forExtracurricular Pencak Silat Students at MTS Al-Kausar Pekanbaru. This research isclassified as a quantitative descriptive research type. The location of this research wascarried out at the MTS AL-Kautsar Kota field, Pekanbaru, Riau Province. Thetechnique used is direct observation of the research object to obtain information aboutproblems occurring in the field. The instrument for this research is the sickle kick speedtest. This test aims to determine the level of sickle kick speed ability of extracurricularpencak silat students at MTS Al - Kausar Pekanbaru. Based on data analysis, a score of25 and above is included in the very good category for two (2) people or 6.67%, with ascore of 20 -24 included in the good category were twenty-three (23) people or 76.6%,for scores 17-19 in the Fair category there were 4 people or 13.3%, for 15-16 in thepoor category one (1) person or 3.33%. And for the very poor category with a score of14 or below, there is none or 0%. Based on the results of this analysis, it can beconcluded that the sickle kick ability possessed by MTS AL-KAUTSAR Pekanbarupencak silat students is in the good category on average with a percentage of 76.6%.Keywords: Pencak Silat Sickle Kick Speed Profile

Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research are to identify the types and functions of slang in the film “Don’t Look Up” based on Allan and Burridge theory. This research was conducted by doing a descriptive qualitative method with a content analysis design. The source of this research is taken from the movie and the script of “Don’t Look Up” movie directed by Adam McKay. Based on the research result, there are thirty-four slangs in the movie “Don’t Look Up”. There are five types of slang in the theory of Allan and Burridge, however, only four types were found in the movie. Those are fresh and creative, imitative, flippant, and acronyms. For the functions of slang, there were seven functions of slang based on Allan and Burridge theory. However, only six functions of slang that were found in the movie are as follows to address, to humiliate, to initiate a relaxed conversation, to communicate impression, to reveal anger, and to show intimacy.Key Words: sociolinguistics, slang, movie

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to determine the level of readiness ofPJOK teachers at Public High School Sports in Riau Province in implementing theindependent curriculum. This research is quantitative descriptive research used to solveor answer a problem that is being faced in the current situation. The method used in thisresearch uses a survey method. This research was planned at SMA Negeri Sport Jl. YosSudarso, Damai Valley, District. Coastal Rumbai, Pekanbaru City. This research wasplanned after examining the proposal and receiving research approval. This researchshows that the level of readiness of PJOK teachers at the Riau Province Sports HighSchool in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum is in a fairly good category, withdetails of 33.3% very ready and 66.7% ready. Even though there are no teachers whoare in the sufficiently prepared category, these results show that the majority ofteachers already have adequate readiness to face the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. However, there are still obstacles in using facilities and infrastructure as well as understanding teaching materials that are in accordance with the Independent Curriculum.Key Words: PJOK Teacher Readiness, Independent Curriculum

Abstract

Abstract: this study aims to describe student responses in the application of the PjBL model assisted by local wisdom on vibration and wave materials. The research conducted is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 31 students of grade VIII.1 MTs N 3 Rokan Hulu for the 2022/2023 academic year. The data collection technique used was a student response questionnaire. This student response questionnaire was given to students after the application of the PjBL model assisted by local wisdom ended. The results of the questionnaire of student responses to the application of the PjBL model assisted by local wisdom can be seen in each indicator. The first indicator, namely the learning of the project based learning (PjBL) model assisted by local wisdom, was fun and increased student creativity, obtaining 91.12% results in the very good category. The second indicator, namely the learning of the project based learning (PjBL) model assisted by local wisdom utilizing existing natural resources, obtained 89.78% results in the very good category. The third indicator, namely the project based learning (PjBL) model, is a new learning for students, obtaining 91.93% results in the very good category. The fourth indicator, namely project based learning (PjBL) model assisted by local wisdom, should be carried out in groups, obtaining 89.69% results in the very good category. The fifth indicator, namely the learning model of project based learning (PjBL) assisted by local wisdom in accordance with the 2013 curriculum (scientific), obtained 95.69% results in the very good category. The average result of the overall student response questionnaire indicator was 91.66% with a very good category. This indicates that the application of the PjBL model assisted by local wisdom on vibration and wave material received a very good response from the students.Keywords: student response, project based learning model assisted by local wisdom.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research was to examine the correlation betweenvocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the seventh grade students ofSMPN2 Kelayang. A correlational designed was used in this research. The sample ofthis research is 27 students, it is class 7Cselected through using cluster randomsampling and recommended by English teacher. The instruments in this research weretwo kinds of test, they were vocabulary test and reading test, each test consisted of 30 multiple choice. All the data gained in this research was analyzed by using theformulation of Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. According to theresult of the analysis and statistical calculate, Based on correlation calculation it wasobtained that the correlation coefficient was 0.553 with a significance of 0.003. The (r-observed) df = n-2 (27-2 = 25) was 0.323 in the significant level 0.05. There showedthat the value of r-observed was higher than r-table (0.553>0.323) at the level medium correlation. Further, based on the computation coefficient determination, the R square obtained was 0.3058 or 30.58%. It means the relation existing between vocabulary mastery (X) and reading comprehension (Y) as much as 30.58%. In addition, normality test and linearity test also showed that both of the variables were normal and linear since sig. deviation linearity from the output SPSS 23.0 program was higher than the significant 0.05 (0.025>0.05) and the linearity greater than 0.05 (0.467>0.05). It can conclude that there was a significant and positive the correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Kelayang in descriptive text. Consequently, it was indicated that vocabulary mastery helps te students to comprehend the text in which students should have sufficient vocabulary that can help them in reading test.Key Words: Correlation, Vocabulary Mastery, Reading Comprehension, Descriptive text

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to determine the effect of Kahoot in improvingvocabulary mastery in class X students at Kansai Vocational School,Pekanbaru. This research uses a true experimental method. There are two classesselected, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data collectionmethods applied in this research were providing a pretest, carrying out treatment,providing a posttest, and carrying out data analysis techniques. The results of theresearch show that there is an increase in learning outcomes in the experimentalclass using Kahoot. Kahoot media can improve mastery of Japanese vocabularywhen compared to students who were not given treatment with Kahoot. Apartfrom that, students in the experimental class seemed more enthusiastic and active inlearning Japanese. However, in the control class, students who only usedconventional learning methods seemed less enthusiastic while learning Japanese.Keywords: Media, Kahoot, Vocabulary
