Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Game Based Learning Method with Perfect Number Media on Creative Thinking Ability of Elementary School Students. The use of perfect number media aims to make learning more interesting and improve students' creative thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research. This research was conducted at SDN Jubelan 01, Sumowono District, Semarang Regency, Central Java. The population in this study were all students at SDN Jubelan 01. The research sample was grade IV students at SDN Jubelan 01. The results showed that the game-based learning method assisted by perfect number media was effective in improving students' creative thinking skills. The results of the t test show that there is a difference in the average learning value of the experimental class which is higher than the average value of the control class learning and the significance level is < 0.05, then is accepted. The results of the regression test showed that there was an effect as evidenced by the significance value of students' creative thinking ability of 0.038 where this value was less than 0.05, then the hypothesis was accepted. The results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance level of <0.05, namely 0.00 <0.05, then was accepted. The data on the value of creative thinking ability also shows that the percentage of the experimental class is greater than the control class.

This type of research is a quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The study population was all fifth graders at State Elementary School 2021/2022, totaling 162 people. The class sample was taken by random sampling technique. The sample consisted of 2 classes, namely Class V SDN 1 Banjar Tengah as many as 22 students who studied with active learning strategies and class V SDN 2 Banjar Tengah 22 students who studied with conventional learning strategies. The data collected in this study was data on students' mathematics learning motivation, which was obtained by using the mathematics learning motivation test, which had a reliability of 0.93. Mathematics learning motivation data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and one-way ANOVA. Hypothesis testing was carried out at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that there were differences in the motivation to learn mathematics between students who studied with active learning strategies and conventional learning strategies (F = 79.93; p <0.05). The results of the LSD test showed that students' motivation to learn mathematics using active learning strategies was higher than conventional learning strategies (LSD = 0.09) ; =0.42).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) learning model assisted by comics on the reading comprehension ability of fourth grade students at SDN Genuk Ungaran Barat. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method, namely Quasi Experimental Design in the form of a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all fourth grade students at SDN Genuk Ungaran Barat. Meanwhile, the samples in this study were fourth grade students at SDN Genuk 01 and fourth grade students at SDN Genuk 02 Ungaran Barat. Data collection techniques used cognitive domain tests, observations, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the Independent Sample T-Test and Simple Linear Regression Test. The results of this study indicate: (1) There is an average difference in students' reading comprehension skills between the control class and the experimental class, which can be seen from the Independent Sample T-Test and the tcount > ttable (3,611 > 2,008) with a sig. (2-tailed) that is 0.001 < 0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. (2) There is an influence of the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) learning model assisted by comics media on students' reading comprehension skills, which can be seen from the Simple Linear Regression Test and obtained a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05 with a percentage value of R2 = 0.573 = 57 ,3%, then this regression model can affect the participation variable. So it can be concluded that the Direct Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) learning model assisted by comics media affects the reading comprehension ability of fourth grade students at SDN Genuk Ungaran Barat. Keywords: DRTA Learning Model; Comic Media; Reading Comprehension Ability.
