Abstract

Hidroksiapatit (HAp) [Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2] telah dipergunakan secara luas dalam bidang kedokteran dan kedokteran gigi sebagai bahan substitusi tulang/gigi, hal ini karena komposisi dan strukturnya sama sebagaimana kandungan tulang/gigi. Tetapi HAp yang ada di Indonesia masih import. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah membuat bahan biokeramik hidroksiapatit dari gipsum alam Kulon Progo (KPNG) kemudian mengkarakterisasi dengan pengujian FTIR. Sintesa HAp dilakukan dengan teknik Hydrohermal Microwave dengan mereaksikan antara KPNG (CaSO4.2H2O) dengan diamonium hidrogen fosfat [(NH4)2HPO4]. Kemudian hasil reaksinya dianalisa dengan pengujian FTIR dan dibandingkan dengan HAp 200 Jepang sebagai pembanding. Dari hasil analisa didapat pola-pola FTIR hidroksiapatit hasil reaksi menyerupai HAp 200 Jepang dan HAp SRM 2910.

Abstract

Polymer based material such as Poly-L-Lactic-Acid (PLLA) have been used for titanium substitution. However, the last research indicates that it was not an ideal material as bone fracture fixation device. It is a challenge to develop other materials as biodegradable bone plate for titanium substitution, such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). In this study, polyvinyl alcohol has composited with Hydroxy apatite (HA) and reinforced with catgut fiber. The aim of this study was to know the effect of immersion time to mechanical strength of PVA– HA composite with catgut reinforced as biodegradable bone plate after biodegradation test for 30 and 60 days. Specimens were prepared for tensile and bending strength tests, immersed in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution with pH 7.4 at 370C. Specimens were weighed before and after biodegradation test, tensile and bending test were done after removed for 30 and 60 days. The result showed that PVAHA composite reinforced with catgut fiber has stable mechanical strength after 30 and 60 days biodegradation process. The mechanical strength decreased in 30 and 60 days in all intervention groups, but it still has adequate mechanical strength as biodegradable bone plate. In conclusion, PVA-HA composite reinforced with catgut fiber can be developed as biodegradable bone plate replace titanium and other commercial bone plate.

Abstract

Biocomposite material is a common material used in biomedical application. One of medical problems related to bone restoration which caused by accidents and injuries resulted in fracture bone parts. Biocomposite (Sagoo/PMMA) is being developed as a solution to solve that particular problem. In current research, tensile and flexural strength of sagoo/PMMA is tested and examined. There are correlation between value of tensile strength, value of bending strength, and curing time, with maximum tensile strength and bending strength were achieved by curing the specimen for 12 hours, with the maximum value of tensile strength is 3,337 MPa, and the maximum flexural is 2,653 MPa. The minimum tensile strength was achieved by curing the specimen for 6 hours with minimum value of tensile strength is 1,502 MPa, while the minimum flexural was acquired at curing time for 24 hours with minimum of bending strength is 0,536 MPa

Abstract

Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) mempunyai potensi industri yang cukup tinggi, baik industri kecil, menengah, maupun besar. Namun daya saing produk industri pengolahan di DIY rendah karena beberapa faktor, yakni masih lemahnya keterkaitan antar industri, keterbatasan produksi barang setengah jadi dan komponen di dalam negeri, keterbatasan industri berteknologi tinggi, kesenjangan kemampuan ekonomi antardaerah, serta ketergantungan ekspor pada beberapa komoditas tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancangan konsep kawasan industri berbasis potensi daerah (Domestic Based Industry/ DBI) menggunakan pendekatan sinergi Academic-Business-Government (ABG). Pendekatan ini dilakukan dengan fokus pada pemanfaatan bahan baku, sumber daya manusia, dan pemenuhan permintaan pasar lokal. Hasil kajian ini menghasilkan tiga konsep kawasan DBI yang diusulkan: (i) pengolahan produk turunan salak pondoh di Turi Sleman, (ii) pengolahan zeolit di Gedangsari Gunungkidul, dan (iii) pengolahan limbah produk biogas di Cangkringan Sleman. Ketiga konsep kawasan industri pengolahan tersebut saling terkait dan akan membentuk jejaring yang terintegrasi mulai dari bahan baku hingga produk, baik dengan industri rancangan baru maupun dengan industri yang sudah ada.

Abstract

Ternak domba di Desa Sriharjo masih dipelihara secara tradisional di pekarangan rumah di kandang berlantai tanah. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah pendampingan pembuatan kandang domba sehat di Desa Sriharjo, Kecamatan Imogiri, Kabupaten Bantul. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian adalah 30 peternak anggota kelompok ternak Taruna Tani Hijaunya Cinta, desa Sriharjo. Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, studi banding dan dilanjutkan pendampingan peternak membangun kandang sehat. Pemahaman masyarakat terhadap kandang sehat diukur melalui wawancara serta pengisian kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pengabdian. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah peternak telah berhasil membangun kandang panggung percontohan yang berlokasi di pekarangan yang tidak terlalu dekat dengan rumah penduduk. Hasil survey menunjukkan bahwa sebelum PKM sebanyak 10% dan setelah PKM semua (100%) peternak memahami tentang pengertian dan manfaat kandang sehat. Disimpulkan bahwa kandang domba sehat telah berhasil dibangun dan fungsinya telah dimengerti oleh semua peternak domba di desa Sriharjo.

Abstract

Crowdfunding is one of the alternative sources of finance for product-based startups. Products are funded if the campaign is considered to be successful in reaching the target. The assessment of the success rate of product campaigns develops into three successive levels, namely overfunding, successful and unsuccessful. Due to the complication of setting up a product campaign on an online crowdfunding platform, a mobile application to aid campaigners needs to be developed. Moreover, it is essential to evaluate its ease to use. This study aims to (1) develop an android-based application, (2) evaluate the usability of the application based on user perceptions. The application ('POSCA') was developed by emphasizing user experience (UX), while the Use Questionnaire evaluated its usability. Ten participants were invited to evaluate the system usability and interface. The results suggest that 'POSCA' has good scores of usability: ‘efficiency’ = 49.11% in the fifth trial, ‘very-easy-to-learn’ (95%), ‘useful’ (85%), ‘easy-to-use’ (87%), and ‘satisfy-the-users’ (88%).

Abstract

Atomization is the most common method for producing powders from metal. There are three atomization methods in powder fabrication : water atomization, gas atomization, and centrifugal atomization. Atomization was being developed to increase powder quality and process productivity. A new atomization method is possible to find by using another energy resources. Oxy-acetylene can be used as an energy resource in atomization. In this research, powders are made by oxy-acetylene atomization method. Material in wire form is melted in oxy-acetylene flame, which has operating temperature around 3480oC, and atomized to form a fine spray. The fine molten droplets rapidly solidify forming a powders. This research investigate the variation of wire diameter and flame gun attacking angle on atomization process efficiency and production rate. Wire material which used in this research is commercial steel wire with 0.75 mm; 1.25 mm; 1.50 mm in diameter. Flame gun attacking angle is varied 25o, 30o, 35o, 40o, and 45o.Result shows that oxy-acetylene atomization method can be used to produce metal powders. The characteristic of powders which produced by this atomization method have spherical shape, 75 m – 90 m in size, oxidized, and carburized. The efficiency and production rate of the atomization process are around 12.2% and 0.1429 gram/minute. This efficiency and production rate are influenced by wire diameter. Bigger wire diameter results higher efficiency, but lower production rate. For 1.25 mm diameter of commercial wire steel, an optimum efficiency of atomization process, 15.1%, are resulted by 30o of flame gun attacking angle.Keywords : powder fabrication, oxy-acetylene atomization method

Abstract

Solution developed to improve the structure of human bone in synthetic bone. Composites manufactured from polymethylmetacrylate are frequently employed in the medical field (PMMAPure PMMA, on the other hand, has restricted mechanical qualities, as well as being less compatible, rigid, and non-bioactive. This research will mix PMMA material with hydroxyapatite (HA) material. The material's composition is PMMA: MMA = 1: 1, with a hydroxyapatite (HA) to PMMA powder ratio of 0.50: 1 (w/w). The material will be printed through a 3D Printing machine which has a 1.5 mm nozzle. This 3D Printing machine undergoes periodic development, but the results obtained are not in accordance with the needs, especially the tensile strength of the specimen. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to determine the ability of the 3D Printing machine printing process by optimizing the parameters of the 3D Printing machine. Experimental results and analysis using the RSM method show the machining parameters of the 3D printing machine on PMMA/HA material to get the highest optimal tensile strength at the point of 13,670 mm/s for the perimeter speed parameter, 76,330 mm/s for the infill speed parameter and 33,670% point for the fill density

Abstract

Bone fracture caused by various incident causes medical problems. Then bone restoration is required. Bone grafts can be used to solve this problem. One of the materials that can be used to produce bone graft is PMMA. PMMA requires to be combined with other materials to extend the solidification time. The material that can be used for bone graft material is sago starch. The main ingredient composition of Biocomposite [sago/PMMA] consists of sago: PMMA = 1 : 1 (w/w). The composition of the addition of MMA is 10% (v/w) of PMMA, this is to extend the curing time. Thus the material can be through from the chamber extruder to the nozzle. This research aims to obtain  combinations of 3D Printer FDM Customized machine parameters for minimizing of error dimension. The 3D Printer machine uses pneumatic system to push the material from the container to the chamber and used screw extruder to push the material out through the nozzle. The experimental design method used a 2k fractional factorial design, with 3 parameters, 2 levels and 3 responses. The experimental results obtained that the layer height parameter has a significant influence on the x-dimensional error. The optimization results obtained a combination of parameters to get the smallest error dimensions, the print speed is 25 mm/s, the layer height is 2.93 mm and the fill density is 20%. The results of optimization obtained that the x-dimensional error is 0.016, the y-dimensional error is 0.069 and the z-dimensional error is 0.4539.

Abstract

The automotive industry is known to increase exports since 2015 and is predicted to continue to grow. To develop the industry, the government is known to issue several schemes, and one of them is in the form of mandatory rules for partnerships with the small and medium industrial sectors. However, there is no industrial, institutional map seen from various aspects, including technology, human resources, information, and organization. This map is essential and useful for stakeholders to develop the industry because it provides more directed assistance.In this study, the small and medium industries for processing metal automotive components in Tegal City are used as mapping objects. The technometric method is used to calculate the level of technology contribution they have. The results of this study indicate that the four aspects covering Technoware, Humanware, Infoware, and Orgaware for small and medium-sized automotive component processing industries in Tegal City are in a reasonable range. For improvement or guidance, production facility technology is the priority. Then proceed to employee competencies, information systems, and organizational management. Mapping should be done regularly every five years or less than five years as an evaluation.
