Journal of Indonesian Agribusiness is a periodical scientific journals of agribusiness in Indonesia. This journal is media of information dissemination which is the thinking results and research of lecturers, researchers and practitioners who are interested in agribusiness development. This journal is expected to help the agribusiness practitioners, policy makers, lecturer, students, and other people to get better understanding of the situation and condition of Indonesian agribusiness. Especially, benefit for the Indonesian agribusiness development and generally for improving the welfare of the Indonesian people. This journal is published twice a year (June and December Edition) by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management, Institut Pertanian Bogor.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan antara pendapatan petani yang mengakses kredit lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Nganjuk. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive Sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebnayak 100 petani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan analisis kuantitatif. Analisis data menggunakan analisis matematik untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit ke lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Analisis statistik menggunakan Independent Sampel T Test, untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit pada lembaga keuangan formal dan informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan rata-rata pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses lembaga keuangan formal sebesar Rp. 35.852.746,43 per musim tanam, sedangkan rata-rata pendapatan petani bawang merah yang mengakses lembaga keuangan informal sebesar Rp. 16.317.527,62 per musim tanam. Perbedaan pendapatan disebabkan oleh luas lahan yang ditanami oleh petani dan jumlah produksi bawang merah dan berdasarkan analisis perbedaan (Komparasi) pendapatan usahatani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit ke lembaga keuangan formal dan informal dengan uji beda dengan hasil Fhitung lebih besar dari Ftabel dan Thitung lebih besar dari Ttabel dengan signifikan 0,00, dengan keputusan tolak Ho terima H1, artinya terdapat perbedaan nyata antara usatani bawang merah yang mengakses kredit ke lembaga keuangan formal dan informal

Along with the importance of the rice industry in the agricultural sector and rural development in Indonesia, it arguably requires the understanding of whether rice farmers have been experiencing changes in their agricultural practices. Within the existing literature, it is commonly found that most farmers in developing countries are characterized as subsistence farmers. This paper aims to explore what factors affecting the degree of farmers’ subsistence in the Indonesian rice industry. To this end, this study employed regression analysis using data from the national agricultural survey in 2014. The empirical results find that both the characteristics of farm households and rice on-farm characteristics have statistically significant effects on the farmers’ decision whether to commercialize or become subsistence. In addition, the farm gate price is also found to have a statistically significant effect, but the effect is found to be relatively small. In general, this study suggests that subsistence farming in the Indonesian rice industry is still significant though many literatures have emphasized the existence of structural change in the agricultural system in Indonesia.

Food products are the main concern for the government and people of Indonesia. Changes in food prices have significant effects on the welfare of the population. Covid-19 pandemic has significantly affected community activities and the food agribusiness system. This study analyzes patterns of changes in prices and marketing margins of seven main food products in Indonesian food consumption i.e. rice, shallots, garlic, red chillies, cayenne pepper, cooking oil, and sugar, after the Covid-19 pandemic by presenting descriptive statistics of daily food prices data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPSN). Based on empirical results, except for shallots and cooking oil, most food prices at various market levels have fallen during the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, the risk of food prices at various levels of the market has been increasing. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the magnitude and variability of marketing margins along the marketing chain also have been increasing. These findings imply the urgency of Institutional policies that can increase market transparency and competition appears to be more effective in the long term at reducing the price shocks caused by Covid-19 at various levels of the market than price interventions.

The Special Efforts Program (UPSUS) is a government program to achieve sustainable food self-sufficiency, one of which is the commodity of corn. The success of the UPSUS program is inseparable from the participation of farmers. Some factors affect the level of farmer participation. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence farmers' participation in the UPSUS program. The study was carried out from August to October 2019 in Pandeglang Regency. The research involved 94 respondents who were joined in the UPSUS Program on maize commodity. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis. The results showed that the ability of farmers and the opportunity factor had a positive and significant effect on the level of farmer participation. This implies that the higher farmers’ ability and the number of opportunities obtained by farmers increase the level of farmer participation in the UPSUS corn program. Farmer characteristics have a positive impact but do not possess a significant effect on the level of farmer participation.

Kabupaten Serang merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil ayam broiler di Provinsi Banten. Produksi ayam broiler di Kabupaten Serang menghadapi risiko produksi dan mortalitas ayam yang tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis pengaruh faktor-faktor produksi terhadap risiko produksi ayam broiler pada peternak mitra dan peternak mandiri di Kabupaten Serang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Serang, Provinsi Banten. Penentuan daerah penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode sensus dan snowballing untuk mengumpulkan 64 peternak ayam broiler. Jumlah sampel terbagi menjadi 32 peternak mitra dan 32 peternak mandiri. Model Just and Pope digunakan untuk menganalisis risiko produksi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa faktor produksi yang bersifat meningkatkan risiko produksi pada usahaternak ayam broiler adalah vaksin, tenaga kerja, obat-obatan, sekam, dummy mitra, dan dummy musim, sedangkan faktor yang bersifat menurunkan risiko produksi pada usahaternak ayam broiler adalah pakan, pemanas, dan vitamin. Peternak perlu berhati-hati dalam memberikan vitamin, obat-obatan, dan vaksin agar sesuai dengan dosis yang dibutuhkan serta mengontrol penggunaan tenaga kerja untuk meminimumkan risiko produksi.

Demand for garlic in Indonesia tends to increase, but only a little (< 5 percent) of it was met by national production. This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Indonesian garlic and identify its determinants. Data used on garlic farming was obtained from the Agricultural Census 2013-Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), consisting of 121 sample farmers in West Nusa Tenggara province and 98 farmers in Central Java province. The Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM) method was used to measure comparative and competitive advantages which were grouped according to the technical efficiency of production. Efficiency is estimated by the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. The results showed that garlic has a comparative and competitive advantage in only 55 percent of the total sample. The comparative and competitive advantages of garlic were significantly determined by the technical efficiency of production. Further analysis showed that the competitiveness of Indonesian garlic was sensitive to changes in productivity and output prices. Productivity is the most decisive factor in the competitiveness of Indonesian garlic. Government policies related to input prices and output prices caused farmers to pay lower input prices and accepted output prices higher than their social prices. From this study can be concluded that in general Indonesian garlic was not competitive being produced domestically. Garlic can be produced domestically as an import substitution if it is produced with high productivity and efficiency. It is recommended to improve the technical efficiency of production by utilizing the potential land and technology production optimally.

Kopi robusta merupakan komoditas unggulan di Kabupaten Lampung Barat. Adanya kesenjangan harga kopi di tingkat produsen dan konsumen rata- rata sebesar 49.04 persen diduga bahwa banyaknya lembaga pemasaran yang terlibat sehingga menimbulkan biaya pemasaran yang tinggi. Hal ini menimbulkan dugaan tidak meratanya share antar lembaga pemasaran sehingga berdampak pada tingkat efisiensi pemasaran kopi di Kecamatan Sekincau. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem pemasaran kopi robusta yang terbentuk berdasarkan lembaga-lembaga yang terlibat dan menganalisis efisiensi pemasaran kopi robusta di Kecamatan Sekincau. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara menggunakan kuesioner serta data pendukung dari instansi terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat empat saluran pemasaran yang melakukan setiap fungsi pemasaran. Berdasarkan perhitungan kuantitatif, saluran I merupakan saluran yang paling efisien dengan marjin Rp 5 669 per kg dan farmer’s share 76.77 persen. Upaya mengatasi ketidakefisienan pemasaran kopi di Kecamatan Sekincau Kabupaten Lampung Barat melalui pelaksanaan secara optimal fungsi-fungsi pemasaran pada setiap lembaga pemasaran.

Changes in the children's learning curriculum that emphasize children's activities and experiences not just reading material, making agro-tourism an alternative learning media for interaction that is chosen by the school. As one of the agro-education objects, Sentulfresh needs always to evaluate their performance of the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion, people, process and physical evidence) through visitor satisfaction and trust. This study aims to analyze the marketing mix variables that affect the satisfaction variable, the effect of satisfaction on trust and the satisfaction level of Sentulfresh visitors. Data collection was carried out on 70 respondents who had visited Sentulfresh. The data analysis method used were the Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) and the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). SEM-PLS analysis results show that all marketing mix variables have no significant effect on visitor satisfaction, while satisfaction has a significant effect on visitor trust. CSI analysis results shows that Sentulfresh visitor satisfaction is at the “satisfied” level.

Produktivitas bawang merah di Jawa Tengah sebagai sentra produksi menunjukkan tren yang semakin menurun selama tahun 2013-2018. Salah satu cara meningkatkan produktivitas yaitu melalui efisiensi teknis. Namun dalam upaya peningkatan produktivitas, maka peluang terkena risiko juga akan semakin tinggi. Sehingga dibutuhkan kemitraan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini melihat pengaruh kemitraan terhadap efisiensi tekns dan persepsi risiko antara petani mitra dengan petani non mitra. Data sekunder digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 1.508 (10 petani mitra dan 1.498 petani non mitra) petani bawang merah di Jawa Tengah. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode stokastik frontier, dan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemitraan berpengaruh menurunkan efisiensi. Sementra itu tidak ada perbedaan pada kedua petani dalam persepsi terhadap risiko serangan hama dan penyakit, namun pada risiko perubahan iklim/cuaca petani mitra menganggap lebih besar dampakya terhadap penurunan produksi dibandingkan petani yang tidak bermitra. Upaya pengelolaan baik pada petani mitra maupun non mitra terhadap serangan hama dan penyakit tumbuhan tidak ada perbedaan dimana pengelolaan secara kimiawi lebih banyak dipilih.

Indonesia is one of the main exporters of seaweed in the world market. Seaweed traded consists of raw products and processed products. Processed seaweed products are in the form of gelatin with HS code 130231 and carrageenan with HS code 130239. The high demand and value of processed seaweed products is an opportunity for Indonesia. The total world demand for agar in 2018 was 275,188,000. US$ increased 4.9 percent from the previous year, while carrageenan in 2018 had total world demand amounted to 1,131,820,000 US$, an increase of 8.4 percent from the previous year (ITC, 2019). This research aimed to analyze the competitiveness of processed seaweed and determine policies to increase Indonesian processed seaweed exports in the world market. The data in this study used secondary data. The competitiveness of processed Indonesian seaweed products is measured using Revealed Comparative Analysis (RCA) and Export Product Dynamic (EPD). The results of the analysis showed that processed Indonesian seaweed in the form of carrageenan and agar has comparative competitiveness in the world market. The position of competitiveness in the main destination countries with rising star status has strong competitiveness, but the increasing demand for processed seaweed in the world has caused Indonesia to lose the opportunity to optimize its profits. Indonesia needs to increase the quantity of processed seaweed exports in the form of carrageenan and agar by encouraging domestic investment to develop the seaweed processing industry sector.
