Journal of Indonesian Agribusiness is a periodical scientific journals of agribusiness in Indonesia. This journal is expected to help the agribusiness practitioners, policy makers, lecturer, students, and other people to get better understanding of the situation and condition of Indonesian agribusiness. Abstract

The tofu industry produces wastewater that can pollute the environment. One of the solution is using Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). WWTP will increase the cost (investment cost and operational cost) for the tofu factory. However, it will not increase the revenue because the use of WWTP is unrelated to the production activities of the tofu factory. This research aimed to analyze the financial feasibility of a tofu factory with WWTP and analyze the maximum increase in soybean prices and labor wages. This research was conducted by a case study in Mr. Narman’s Tofu Factory and using two alternatives with four types, independent WWTP (type HK 1) and integrated WWTP (type HK 3, 5, or 10). This research used investment criteria (NPV, IRR, Net B/C, and Payback Period) and switching value analysis. The findings demonstrate that a tofu factory with WWTP was feasible even though there was a decrease in profit due to the application of WWTP. The tofu factory with IPAL can increase its profits if the tofu factory receives an incentive to increase the tofu selling price by 1,26 percent to 2,82 percent and if the soybean price decreases to Rp. 9.521/kg from Rp. 9.787/kg. A tofu factory with WWTP is more sensitive to changes than one without WWTP. Tofu factory with WWTP is more sensitive to soybean price changes than labour wage changes.

Abstract

Partnership is relationship among two people or more that have purpose which is harmonious and form a deal for doing business together. Partnership also defined as a relationship cooperative relationship which gives profit to each other. Cooperation which is profit each other will give positive impact for business performer to continue developing and increasing business result that is done together. Partnership has important role for farmer who is difficult to sell his product farming. Partnership implementation by PT Simply Fresh Organic with organic vegetable farmer helps farmer in organic vegetable farming activity process. Such as, guarantee market which is available, capital assistance, development and production facilities by company that will help farmer to increase his income. The research aims to see: (1) Partnership pattern which is executed by PT Simply Fresh Organic with organic vegetable farmer, then will be seen category of partnership level relationship that is being intertwined. (2) To Analyze factors that influenced farmer is decision in partnership. The results of this research are: (1) Partnership pattern that is intertwined between PT Simply Fresh Organic with organic vegetable farmer is agribusiness operational partnership with degree of partnership in Prima Utama Partnership. (2) Factors which are significant or influential on farmer’s decision to partner are education factor and frequency of participating counseling.

Abstract

Kopi robusta merupakan komoditas perkebunan yang memiliki potensi tinggi mengingat trend konsumsi dan produksi yang besar di beberapa provinsi di Indonesia salah satunya Provinsi Lampung, namun peningkatan produksi tersebut berdampak pada penggunaan lahan di kawasan hutan Taman Nasional Bukit Barisan Selatan Nasional (TNBBS) untuk kegiatan pertanian kopi, terlebih lagi pandemi yang melanda dunia membuat tantangan baru dalam bisnis pertanian kopi ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dan membandingkan tingkat pendapatan usaha tani kopi dan kerentanan keluarga petani kopi disebabkan pandemi Covid-19 di sekitar TNBBS, baik di dalam maupun di luar TNBBS. Analisis data menggunakan analisis pendapatan usaha tani dan analisis indeks kerentanan mata pencaharian (LVI). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan petani di kawasan TNBBS lebih kecil yaitu Rp. 9.833.453,57 sedangkan di luar kawasan TNBBS sebesar Rp. 12.571.781,31, rasio R/C juga menunjukkan bahwa bertani di luar daerah adalah yang paling menguntungkan. Perbedaan jarak lahan petani dalam kawasan dan luar kawasan memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap perbedaan jumlah ini. Kerentanan keluarga petani di dalam TNBBS dan di luar TNBBS tergolong rendah hingga sedang baik dalam perhitungan LVI maupun LVI yang mempertimbangkan definisi IPCC. Strategi mata pencaharian dan jaringan sosial yang tidak memadai di beberapa rumah tangga petani berkontribusi pada angka LVI yang dihasilkan dari analisis.

Abstract

Pembangunan ekonomi dapat dilakukan dengan berbasis sektor pertanian. Pembangunan suatu daerah dapat dilakukan dengan menentukan komoditas unggulan yang mampu bersaing secara komparatif dan kompetitif. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu (1) menganalisis komoditas unggulan sektor pertanian di Kabupaten Tanah Datar (2) menganalisis daya saing komoditas unggulan di Kabupaten Tanah Datar (3) menganalisis spesialisasi dan lokalisasi komoditas unggulan di Kabupaten Tanah Datar. Penelitian menggunakan analisis Location Quotient, Dynamic Location Quotient, Shift Share Analysis, Kuosien Spesialisasi dan Kuosien Lokalisasi. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yaitu produksi subsektor tanaman pangan, subsektor hortikultura, subsektor perkebunan dari tahun 2016 sampai tahun 2020. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa (1) persentase komoditas sektor pertanian unggulan di Kabupaten Tanah Datar yaitu sebesar 40,43 persen, dengan persentase potensi komoditas unggulan pada masa mendatang di Kabupaten Tanah Datar sebesar 63,16 persen (2) persentase komoditas unggulan yang memiliki daya saing di Kabupaten Tanah Datar sebesar 47,37 persen (3) persentase spesialisasi dan lokalisasi komoditas unggulan sebesar 21,05 persen. Dari hasil analisis sebaiknya pemerintah lebih memfokuskan pembangunan daerah dengan meningkatkan produktivitas, mengembangkan, dan mensosialisasikan komoditas unggulan pertanian.

Abstract

Cooperatives need to increase their loyalty and customer satisfaction to be able to exist during the covid 19 pandemic. This study aims to identify and analyze the forming factors in customer satisfaction that affect cooperative customer loyalty during the covid pandemic. This research was conducted in the cities of South Tangerang and Depok. Primary data were collected through questionnaires to 100 cooperative customers using purposive sampling technique, and data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Marketing mix (7P) as exogenous latent variable. Meanwhile, customer satisfaction and loyalty are endogenous latent variables. The results showed that based on the highest value, the promotional marketing mix factor (γ=0.26) was important to improve cooperatives in the cities of South Tangerang and Depok as a marketing strategy in maintaining customer loyalty and satisfaction during the covid 19 pandemic. recommendations for increasing promotion and physical evidence in cooperative businesses as a cooperative marketing strategy that is suitable for use during the covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

Berdasarkan data SPOI tahun 2020, komoditas beras organik merupakan salah satu produk organik yang paling banyak digunakan. Beras merupakan salah satu komoditas teratas untuk produk organik. Pada tahun 2017 dan 2018, luas lahan yang dikonversi menjadi organik tumbuh signifikan sebesar 53.000 hektar. Luas area komoditas beras organik yang dihasilkan sejauh tahun 2016 terdapat 5 kabupaten/kota yang paling luas. Berdasarkan data dari SPOI, Provinsi Sumatera Barat merupakan salah satu tempat di Indonesia dengan lahan padi organik terbanyak (2017). Sejak tahun 2006, Pemerintah Provinsi Sumatera Barat telah memiliki kebijakan untuk membantu pertumbuhan pertanian organik. Terdapat beberapa permasalahan dalam pemasaran beras organik di Sumatera Barat yaitu kurangnya akses pasar oleh petani sehingga hanya sebagian kecil hasil panen petani padi organik diserap sebagai produk akhir beras organik dan produk dijual dengan harga beras konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis efisiensi pemasaran dan operasional pemasaran (margin, farmer’s share dan rasio keuntungan) beras organik di Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Penentuan lokasi penelitian menggunakan metode purposive. Purposive sampling digunakan untuk menentukan responden petani, dan snowball sampling digunakan untuk menentukan responden pedagang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif deskriptif. Rasio keuntungan terhadap biaya, farmer's share, dan analisis margin pemasaran adalah alat analisis kuantitatif. Temuan ini menunjukkan terdapat empat jalur pemasaran beras organik di Sumatera Barat, yang semuanya didukung oleh lima lembaga pemasaran yang berbeda yaitu pedagang pengumpul, pedagang besar, petani bandar, pedagang pengecer skala kecil dan pedagang pengecer skala besar (supermarket). Petani – pedagang pengumpul – pedagang besar - pengecer skala kecil (saluran 2) merupakan pola saluran yang paling banyak dipilih oleh petani yaitu sebesar 50%. Saluran 4 merupakan pola saluran yang paling efisien karena merupakan saluran terpendek, memiliki margin terendah sebesar Rp 5.500, dan memiliki nilai farmer's share tertinggi sebesar 50%.

Abstract

Agricultural extension is a system of conveying information and innovation with communication to increase knowledge and skills and change the attitudes and behavior of farmers. The success of agricultural development is supported by the quality of human resources, especially extension agents as the main actors, and farmers as targets. Human resources that consist of individual external and internal factors are the driving force and synergist of other resources to achieve the objectives of counseling. The research aims to formulate the success of counseling through the characteristics of frmers and extension workers with a quantitative descriptive method using the Speech Communication Model theory. Primary data was obtained using interviews and structured questionnaires for 65 extension workers and farmers using proportionate stratified random sampling in 9 sub-districts, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, while the entire extension population was taken, then analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that the characteristics of extension agents had a positive effect in terms of demography, competence, and service input, as well as farmer’s characteristics in terms of demography, characteristics, and communication affordability which had a high effect on the success of extension. Characteristics of farmers and extension workers have a positive correlation with extension activities, which means that the higher ability, competence, skills, and motivation of farmers and extension workers, the success of extension can increase to achieve the goals of extension, realize an increase in the lives and welfare of farmers. Efforts can be made through training activities, technical guidance, and so on as needed. In addition, government support in the provision of financing, facilities, infrastructure, and supporting activity programs in efforts to increase competence and service input in the success of extension.

Abstract

The research was aimed to determine the characteristics of the participants in The Learning Farm Indonesia training and analyze the effect of organic farming training by The Learning Farm Indonesia on Generation Z farming competence. The sample in this study was 1 (one) batch of participants in The Learning Farm Indonesia, namely youth aged 17-24 years (classified as in Generation Z), as many as 28 people. Characteristic data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Meanwhile, competency and training data were analyzed by correlation analysis method using the SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square) by utilizing the SmartPLS version 3 software application. The results showed that the characteristics of organic farming training participants of The Learning Farm Indonesia batch 41 were dominated by men, graduated from senior high school, and came from West Java. The training variables that influence the competency variables are training methods and training materials. The training method has an effect on knowledge with a p-value of 0.013. The training method has an effect on skills with a p-value of 0.025. The training material has an effect on skills with a p-value of 0.013. The training materials has an effect on attitudes with a p-value of 0.016. The training methods used by The Learning Farm Indonesia are lectures (lectures and discussions), video presentations, and action learning.

Abstract

Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk pemenuhan pasokan jagung adalah dengan meningkatkan produktivitas menggunakan benih unggul seperti benih jagung hibrida. PT Agricorn Putra Sejati merupakan produsen benih jagung hibrida yang berencana untuk menambah kapasitas produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan pengembangan usaha dan menganalisis perubahan maksimum pada harga pupuk dan upah tenaga kerja tetap. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga skenario, yaitu skenario I (kondisi tanpa pengembangan), skenario 2 (kondisi pengembangan dengan sistem padat karya), dan skenario III (kondisi pengembangan dengan lebih banyak menggunakan tenaga mesin). Penelitian ini menggunakan aspek non finansial (aspek pasar, aspek teknis, aspek manajemen dan hukum, aspek sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya, serta aspek lingkungan) dan aspek finansial (NPV, Net B/C, IRR, Payback Period). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perusahaan layak untuk dikembangkan dan akan memperoleh manfaat bersih lebih tinggi jika menggunakan skenario III.

Abstract

Narrowing land tenure is happening in Indonesia agricultural household. This affect on decreasing agricultural household income. Attempts to increase income in the non-agricultural sector have resulted in a variety of income structures. The relationship between land tenure and household income does not always show the same direction, this is due to different agro-ecosystem conditions. This study aims to analyze: (1) the effect of land tenure and agro-ecosystem conditions on the non-agricultural income structure, (2) the effect of land tenure and non-agricultural income structure on the welfare of agricultural households. The data used is the National Farmer Panel sourced from the Indonesian Center of Agriculture Socio Economics Policy Studies (ICASEPS), Ministry of Agriculture. The analytical method used is Generalized Linear Model whics is processed using R Software. The results show that there is a negative relationship between land area and non-agricultural income structure. Meanwhile, education and agro-ecosystem conditions are positively related to non-agricultural income structure. The percentage of non-agricultural income, sequentially from the highest, is the agro-ecosystem of paddy fields, dry land based crops and vegetables, dry land based plantation. A positive relationship is also shown between the variables of land area, education, non-agricultural income structures and the welfare of agricultural households which were proxied using per capita expenditure. Meanwhile, an increase in household members will reduce the welfare of agricultural households.
