Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Packaged functional food products are part of the agrifood modernization that is growing rapidly along with changes in people's consumption patterns. The transformation of agrifood makes these products a practical and nutritious choice for consumers. University students as young consumers have good knowledge about health and nutrition, but are suspected of not having the awareness to consume healthy food, so it is important to understand their purchase intention towards packaged functional food products. This research aims to analyze the direct and indirect effects of college students' knowledge on their purchase intention of packaged functional food products using the theory of planned behavior approach. Data were collected through a survey with clustered random sampling on 170 IPB students and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results showed that subjective and objective knowledge had no direct effect on purchase intention. However, subjective knowledge has an indirect effect on purchase intention through attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. This research provides an overview for packaged functional food producers in making university students as their potential market.

Abstract

Abstract

Rural development planning in Indonesia has increasingly incorporated climate adaptation frameworks; however, significant gaps remain between planning documents and implementation practices. This study aims to analyze the misalignments between village development plans, land use priorities, and climate risk assessments in selected rural areas. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through document analysis, in-depth interviews with village officials, and focus group discussions with community members. The findings reveal persistent contradictions between short-term economic objectives such as palm oil expansion and infrastructure development and long-term ecological sustainability. Climate risk maps and spatial plans were found to be inconsistently applied or ignored altogether at the village level, often due to fragmented data systems, top-down policy directives, and limited community engagement. Moreover, institutional silos and donor-driven agendas further exacerbate the incoherence of policy implementation, undermining resilience-building efforts. Informants highlighted that alternative livelihoods such as agroecology and ecotourism, while environmentally sound, lacked institutional support and integration into formal planning mechanisms. This study concludes that policy incoherence stems from both structural and procedural limitations, resulting in feedback loops that reinforce rural vulnerability. It recommends a systemic shift toward harmonized, cross-sectoral governance frameworks that promote ecological justice, empower local communities, and operationalize adaptive planning. The research offers practical insights for policymakers, development practitioners, and scholars concerned with sustainable rural transformation in the face of socio-ecological disruption.

Abstract

UD Bima is a small–medium cassava chips enterprise in Jember Regency that continues to face several operational challenges, including fluctuating raw-material availability, limited labor capacity, and unsystematic production documentation. This study aims to evaluate the operational performance of UD Bima through the assessment of key performance indicators in planning, procurement, and distribution activities. The SCOR model is employed as a framework for structuring performance indicators, while the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to determine the priority weights of the indicators. Performance achievement is assessed using Snorm de Boer normalization and the Traffic Light System. Bima’s operational activities, and data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. This research adopts a descriptive-analytical method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies.  The results show an overall operational performance score of 77.63 (good), supported by relatively stable performance in raw material procurement, production processes, and customer complaint handling.  However, several critical indicators—such as production planning, delivery timeliness, record-keeping, and financial documentation—remain in the red category and require immediate improvement. These findings indicate that imrovements in planning systems, operational information management, and internal coordination are necessary to support the sustainability of UD Bima’s operations.

Abstract

The agricultural sector serves as a strategic pillar in fostering economic growth, especially in rural areas that heavily depend on agricultural activities. This study endeavors to assess the competitiveness of the agricultural sector through the identification of regional leading commodities. The analytical methods used include Location Quotient, Specialization Coefficient, Localization Coefficient, Dynamic Location Quotient, and Shift Share Analysis. This research employs secondary data on the production value of agricultural commodities, which include three main subsectors: food crops, horticulture, and plantations, obtained from Mentawai Islands Regency and West Sumatra Province for the period 2020 to 2024. The analysis results indicate that several commodities in Mentawai Islands Regency are categorized as leading commodities. In the food crops subsector, these commodities include cassava and sweet potatoes; in the horticulture subsector, bananas and duku (a type of tropical fruit); and in the plantation subsector, coconut, cloves, and nutmeg. However, based on the results of specialization and localization analysis, no commodity in the agricultural sector showed characteristics of specialization or localization in Mentawai Islands Regency. In terms of potential commodity development in the future, sweet potatoes are expected to remain dominant in the food crops subsector, while cassava is no longer considered a leading commodity. In the horticulture subsector, bananas and duku are expected to retain their status as leading commodities. In the plantation subsector, only nutmeg is projected to maintain its competitive advantage. Based on the competitive advantage analysis, it is found that has commodities with strong competitiveness, namely coconut and areca nut (pinang).

Abstract

Labor is one of the factors that influences palm oil productivity. Good human resource (HR) management is necessary for efficiency, profitability, and company sustainability. Employee engagement (EE) combines attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors towards satisfaction, commitment, pride, loyalty, and responsibility. EE can be increased by paying attention to the work environment, stress, and motivation. This research examines the sway of the work environment, stress, and motivation on EE. The research was conducted at the head office of PT Lambang Agro Plantation in June – July 2025. The saturated sample (census) with 48 respondents determined the research sample. The data in this research uses primary data from interviews and questionnaires. Descriptive analysis is used to identify employee perceptions of the work environment, work stress, work motivation, and EE. The data was then analyzed using hierarchical regression with the help of Microsoft Excel and SPSS software. The findings suggest that good workplace has significant effect on EE for the first and second models, work stress has a negative and significant effect on EE in the second model, and work motivation has a positive and significant effect on EE in the third model. In contrast, the work environment and work stress do not significantly affect EE.

Abstract

The rapid growth of internet users increases digital market opportunities. However, few MSEs utilize the internet for marketing purposes. This study analyzes the factors influencing business actors' decisions to implement digital marketing in Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the food sector and its impact on business performance. This study uses data from the 2021 Micro and Small Industry (VIMK) survey by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical methods used were the logit regression model and Prosperity Score Matching (PSM). The results show that business innovation, education level, number of employees, legal status, partnerships, participation in business associations, and government assistance have a positive influence, while the age of the entrepreneur and business experience have a negative influence on the decision to implement digital marketing. Meanwhile, the impact of digital marketing implementation has been proven to improve business performance, as indicated by the average turnover, profit, and market reach of entrepreneurs who implement digital marketing being higher than those who do not implement digital marketing. This research shows that efforts to ensure equitable implementation need to be designed inclusively by strengthening the supporting ecosystem, the benefits of digital marketing can be felt more evenly by food MSMEs.
