Abstract

Introduction. School libraries serve as educational resources; nevertheless, the collection development process is commonly ignored or executed improperly. The objective of the study is to examine the Gempita Pustaka Library’s collection development process and strategic position by implementing Evans & Saponaro collection development method and SWOT analysis. Research method. The study was performed through descriptive qualitative method, incorporating observations and conducting interviews in collecting data. Data analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the collection development process by Evans and Saponaro, while SWOT analysis was applied to identify internal analysis (strengths and vulnerabilities). Subsequently, an external analysis was conducted to investigate opportunities and threats, to identify strategic areas of focus. Results and Discussion. Evans and Saponaro outline six essential phases for collection development. However, the collection development process at the Gempita Pustaka Library demonstrates certain weaknesses, particularly due to the absence of regular evaluations. This issue is of a significant concern. Consequently, strategic planning was utilized to leverage the library's strengths and enhance the processes. Conclusion. The findings indicate that the Gempita Pustaka Library's six-stage collection development approach has effectively been implemented. Therefore, the study serves as a reference for improving school library collection development process in the future.

Abstract

Introduction. This study explores factors influencing the effectiveness of digital archiving systems in Indonesian universities, aiming to improve search time, storage, and organization efficiency. Data Collection Method. Using a mixed sequential explanatory approach, data were collected from 168 university archivists through simple random sampling and 20 key informant interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using one-sample t-tests and PLS-SEM, while qualitative data underwent thematic analysis. Results and Discussion. The results reveal that system design, archivist satisfaction, and self-efficacy significantly impact the effectiveness of digital archiving systems. However, training programs did not show a significant effect. Self-efficacy mediated the relationship between system design and user satisfaction on system effectiveness. Conclusion. The effectiveness of digital archiving in universities is influenced by system design and self-efficacy. Self-efficacy strengthens the impact of system design and user satisfaction, highlighting the importance of both technical and psychological factors in managing digital archives effectively.

Abstract

Introduction. Social Inclusion-Based Special Library (PKBIS) is a transformation of library services that places the community as an active subject in utilizing information to improve welfare. This study aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of PKBIS in empowering agricultural communities in two assisted locations, namely the Leuwiliang and Cibungbulang Agricultural Extension Centers (BPP), Bogor Regency. Research Methods. The method used is a qualitative and quantitative survey involving 24 respondents, including service users, BPP managers, and PKBIS assistants. Data analysis. Data were analyzed using the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method to identify gaps between expectations and service performance. Results. Shows that no service attribute reaches the maximum level of conformity (100%), with an average conformity of 82.11%. Attributes that require priority improvement are in the aspects of proposal assistance and strengthening farmer institutions. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening mentoring strategies, preparing literacy materials based on local needs, and increasing the capacity of PKBIS managers. Conclusion. The PKBIS at BPP Leuwiliang and Cibungbulang effectively empowers farming communities through information access and capacity building, although the average service conformity level is only 82.11%. Improvements are needed in proposal preparation assistance and strengthening farmer institutions to optimize the potential of PKBIS as a driver of regional development.

Abstract

Introduction. In publishing practices, authorship often becomes one of the aspects that influences the level of accessibility of a publication. This study aims to examine the differences in access between single authors and multiple authors, the differences in access between publications by BRIN-affiliated authors and non-BRIN-affiliated authors, as well as the differences in access between publications by authors with a single affiliation and those from different affiliations. Research Methods. This study used a quantitative method with descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing. The data were obtained from transaction logs on the BRIN Publisher’s OMP admin page, which recorded the number of accesses per publication from January to June 2025. Data Analysis. The data analysis technique was carried out by combining descriptive statistics and non-parametric statistics. Results. The results of this study indicate that certain classifications of authorship, such as the number of authors and the presence of BRIN-affiliated authors, do not significantly affect the number of accesses. In addition, no differences were found in access between BRIN-affiliated publications and those originating from outside BRIN. This study also found that collaboration influences the amount of access to a publication. Conclusion. The number of authors and BRIN affiliation do not directly affect the level of access, but cross-institutional collaboration has been proven to contribute positively to increasing user engagement.

Abstract

Introduction: This research aims to develop an understanding of GLAM integration in university environments in Indonesia by highlighting how the utilization of cultural heritage can serve as a foundation for building an integrated GLAM ecosystem. Research Methods: A systematic literature review approach was used, collecting data through the Google Scholar and Researchgate search engines using keywords related to GLAM, cultural heritage, universities, and integration. A total of seven articles from international and national journals, research reports, and other publications were analyzed in this study. Data Analysis: The data were qualitatively analyzed through a comprehensive literature review. Sources were identified and synthesized to understand GLAM’s role in promoting and preserving cultural heritage. Results: GLAM integration in universities can foster cultural understanding and appreciation among students. Challenges include limited awareness, funding, infrastructure, and supportive policies. Successful implementation in European universities shows improved access and engagement with cultural heritage. Conclusions: GLAM contributes significantly to cultural heritage preservation in universities. However, Indonesian institutions face challenges such as lack of awareness, funding, and infrastructure. Recommended strategies include enhancing collaboration, developing digital collections, and initiating cultural programs. The establishment of a GLAM Center, educational initiatives, local community involvement, and active promotion are expected to strengthen heritage preservation and foster multicultural awareness in Indonesian society.

Abstract

Introduction. This study evaluates user satisfaction with circulation services at the University of Bengkulu Library after the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper aims to understand how technology-based circulation services meet the needs of library users. Research methods. A quantitative approach was adopted by collecting data from 254 valid online questionnaires from active students at the University of Bengkulu. The research instrument integrates the modified LibQUAL+ and End-User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) models. Data analysis. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics, specifically one-way ANOVA, to assess the influence of demographic variables. Result. The analysis results revealed overall user satisfaction with circulation services in the high category, despite a significant decline in post-pandemic physical book lending transactions. The four dimensions of measurement indicate a high level of satisfaction. However, there is a discrepancy between the information listed on the OPAC and the physical location of the collection, which suggests the need for better guidance in the search and organization of the collection. Conclusion. Integrating the LibQUAL+ and EUCS models has proven effective in evaluating technology-based circulation services. EUCS dimensions, such as Access and Ease of Use, are particularly relevant for measuring performance and aligning the accuracy of OPAC information and physical storage locations.
