Abstract

The XYZ Beauty Clinic in Bandung, operating since 2007, has experienced a decline in monthly revenue due to increasing competition, limited marketing, lack of product variety, outdated equipment, insufficiently trained staff, poorly implemented SOPs, and an unappealing room design. A business model evaluation and improvement are conducted using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) framework to address these issues. The process begins with data collection through interviews with business owners, customer interviews to profile customers, and direct observations. The clinic's current business model is analysed using the 7 Questions framework, while a SWOT analysis identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Based on this analysis, a new business model is formulated and translated into an updated BMC for XYZ Beauty Clinic. A verification stage ensures the proposed business logic, followed by a financial simulation to assess the feasibility and profitability of the strategies. Improvements include targeting a new market segment, particularly youth, recruiting additional doctors, and enhancing human resource quality through therapist training. The clinic should diversify its services, adding sexually transmitted disease consultations, redesigning spaces and product packaging, and leveraging TikTok and influencer partnerships for marketing. Additionally, technology-based financial management is recommended. The economic simulation predicts an incremental IRR of 65% and an NPV of IDR 111,267,697, assuming a 15% sales increase. Further validation is required to align strategies with consumer needs and ensure long-term success. Keywords: Business Model Canvas, Business Model, XYZ Beauty Clinic

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of time and dose of gamma-ray irradiation on protein levels and storability based on the red color index of cork fish (channa striata). The results showed that the longer the irradiation time and the larger the dose given, the higher the protein level and absorbance value produced. The method used was UV-Vis spectrophotometry to determine protein levels and Image-J software to see the shelf life based on the red colour index. The sample consisted of control, irradiated with irradiation time of 35 minutes (6 mGy), 40 minutes (7 mGy) and 45 minutes (8 mGy) and an irradiation distance of 150 cm. The protein levels at control time, which were recorded at 35, 40, and 45 minutes, were 0.138%, 0.187%, 0.276%, and 0.347%, respectively. These results suggest that there may be a correlation between time and protein levels. Further analysis may be needed to fully understand the implications of these findings. The percentage close to stable on the first day with percentages of 1.54%, 1.66%, 1.76%, 2.50%. Additionally, it seems that a higher dose of irradiation may also result in a higher protein content and absorbance value. Keywords: Cesium-137, Cork Fish, Irradiation, Protein, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

Abstract

Product redesign strategies can reduce production costs and shorten design lead times in developing new variants. In the manufacturing design model, identifying the function of components based on customer demand and quality standards becomes vital information for enhancing product reliability, even though design reliability analysis needs to be more frequently addressed. The Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) model has been implemented to simplify product structure, reduce risk and manufacturing and assembly costs, and analyze and identify improvement targets. DFMA has evolved into a philosophy for optimizing total production costs from the perspective of assembly, part design, and total life cycle costs. In many studies, the design and development of remanufactured products have been conducted with quality and compliant initiatives. The form and behavior of failure and repair activities obtained during the conceptual design phase have yet to be systematically considered as the basis for product design enhancements. Risk considerations and failure analysis have yet to be utilized as an integrated model during the product redesign phase. This study aims to evaluate the existing DFMA model and develop a new product redesign model and repurposed product with the integration of the Concurrent Engineering (CE)-based Redesign for the Manufacturing & Assembly model by considering reliability and risk factors. Incorporating the model concept is anticipated to contribute to a dependable, efficient design and reduce manufacturing expenses

Abstract

The rise of modern markets in Purwokerto provides benefits such as diverse shopping options and increased competition in pricing and services. However, this trend negatively impacts traditional markets, which are experiencing a decline in customers. Understanding customer behaviour and needs is essential for enhancing the competitiveness of traditional markets. The AR-MBA method analyses shopping behaviour by identifying frequent item set combinations. The findings from the AR-MBA analysis can inform business strategies, including promotions, market re-layouts, and marketing campaigns aimed at boosting sales in traditional markets. To enhance competitiveness, traditional markets must be revitalised by improving service quality. A Servqual Model analysis will assess the gap between customer expectations and the current state of these markets. This study aims to restore the vital role of traditional markets by enhancing service quality to compete effectively with modern markets. This research is important for policymakers and market managers as it provides insights that can be used to formulate effective strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of traditional markets and ensure local economic sustainability. This strategy enhances customer convenience by positioning frequently purchased items close together based on the Association Rule analysis. It encourages impulse buying, as shoppers are likelier to notice complementary products. Additionally, a sales strategy focused on bundling products can increase perceived value and motivate customers to purchase more items together, ultimately leading to higher sales and a better shopping experience. By maintaining high-performing areas while addressing gaps in service quality, traditional markets can remain strong competitors against modern retail outlets. Keywords: Traditional market, revitalise, AR-MBA, shopping behavior, Market layout, Servqual Model
