The research method used is content analysis with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is documentation, while the aim is to determine the suitability of MTs textbooks with CEFR standard measuring instruments. From the results of the analysis it was found that the content of the MTs Arabic textbook material was generally at the level of A1-A2 on the CEFR standard, this level was in accordance with the needs of MTs students, but in terms of presentation it was still not appropriate because the portion of the material was still dominated by understanding the text. it is necessary to readjust the preparation of material that focuses more on the Arabic language needs of students and more contextual and provides a larger portion of language skills practice activities.

Abstract

This research discussed the ideas of Amin al-Khuli in the teaching of Arabic literature or Balaghah. The name Amin al-Khuli is popular as the reformer of Balaghah. This research was a qualitative research. This research used two books of Amin al-Khuli, i.e., Manahij Tajdid and Fannul Qaul. The result of this research concluded that Amin al-Khuli emphasized two important goals of teaching Balaghah, i.e., the practical and artistic goals. He did not consider the importance of religious goals of Balaghah to understand the Qur’an. In terms of contents, he denied the classification of Balaghah into Ma’ani, Bayan, and Badi’; instead, he changed it into kalimat (words), jumal (sentences), fiqrah (paragraph), and shuwar ta’biriyyah (kinds of expressions). The research emphasized the importance of conducting further research to create a better textbook of Balaghah based on Amin Khuli’s ideas.

Abstract

This article discusses how the student inter-organization of Arabic Literature study program in University of Al Azhar Indonesia takes role in enhancing quality of studying four Arabic language skills among students. This paper was focused on student organization mentoring pattern, type of program of activities formed by the organization, and the extent of students’ active participation as organization member in running the program. This paper used qualitative descriptive method. This paper proposed: (1) The concept of kinship became the foundation for managing the organization, especially in the way it is operated. (2) Program of activities in the organization varied in a sense that some programs were in line so to support the purpose of learning Arabic skill, while there were also programs that did not consider Arabic fluency. However, the latter was designed to harness students soft skills, and develop students talent and interest. (3) The extent of students participation seems adequate, although some students did not yet play their expected functional role as member of student organization.

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to examine Arabic reading speed (at word level) for students in Germany, who acquire literacy in German primary schools and who speak Arabic as a mother tongue and German as a second language. This study is the first one in this research field. Acquiring Arabic literacy is challenging, on one hand because of Arabic diglossia and on the other hand very few German schools offer a chance to receive lessons in vernacular language. The finding showed a significant difference between the group (bilingual students who received Arabic lessons at school) and the group (bilingual students who received Arabic lessons at the mosque), indicating that students (groupone) benefit from literacy lessons at German schools. The data indicate that professional teachers and adequate textbooks are a prerequisite for teaching Arabic at mosques.DOI: 10.15408/a.v3i2.4582

Abstract

This study was a descriptive and semantic analysis of the Arabic Prepositions من، إلى، عن، على، في، الباء، اللام translated into Malay language in the novel Masrur & Makrur. Its main aims are to identify the strategies and styles used to translate the prepositions and to analyze their meanings, semantic functions in verbal phrase (collocations and idioms) which were translated into Malay.  This study applied the Dynamic, Semantic and Communicative Theories as well as the Relevance Theory to perform the analysis process. The results showed that the Arabic and Malay (translation) prepositions consisted of grammatical categories which cannot be translated into direct lexical.  Instead, there was a need to look at sentence structure, syntax, grammatical rules, and semantics aspects as the more suitable contexts because these prepositions did not show their meanings unless they were used with other phrases.
