Jurnal Arabiyat terbit 2 kali dalam satu tahun (Juni dan Desember) sebagai salah satu wadah pengembangan ilmu pendidikan bahasa Arab yang dinamis dan aktual. Jurnal ini menyajikan artikel berbahasa Arab, Indonesia, dan Inggris fokus pada perkembangan bahasa Arab di dunia pendidikan yang merupakan hasil penelitian atau kajian teoritis yang berkaitan dengan literatur kebahasaaraban, peradaban bahasa Arab, lembaga pendidikan bahasa Arab, kurikulum, dan metode pembelajaran dan lainnya merupakan tema-tema yang tersaji di jurnal ini. Grammar is one of the important components in studying a language. It is related to stimulate language skills includes: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. This article discusses the teaching of grammar in pesantren . The pesantren used salafiyah and modern curriculum. The study is conducted for 22 students in the last class. The method used is a correlational study. The result of the study shows that there is a positive correlation between grammatical mastery and language performance in teaching & learning Arabic. Means that grammatical mastery is one of the important factors to perform a good Arabic language.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1516

The fundamental problem in this research was how relevant the vocabulary in Arabic book Manan al-Aziz is to a higher level in Indonesia. This study amis to: (1) find out the vocabulary in Manan Aziz's book in terms of number, type, position and method, and (2) know the advantages and disadvantages of the book of Manan Aziz. This was a library research employing evaluation analysis method. Data sources were: The Arabic Teaching Book used for grades 10, 11 and 12 in secondary schools in Indonesia, written by Manan Al Aziz in 2009. The results of this study were: new vocabulary in Manan Aziz book after less repetition (53 words) means 693 vocabularies. The number of vocabularies that must be taught to Arabic for speakers of other languages were 1500/2000 words for advanced level, starting with a large number of words in class eleven is 302 words, then in the twelfth line means 242 words

This study aims to explain about the contextualization of the meaning of the Qur'an so that Muslims do not fall into textual understanding even away from the truth. Using Bloomfield's theory of behaviorism linguistics, this research will add to the meaning of the Qur'an's linguistic meaning, especially those related to the description of paradise in the Qur'an which was of great interest to the Arab community at that time, so that many of them converted to Islam. After analyzing the Qur'anic verses describing the state of paradise and its pleasures, the researchers found three major stimuli related to the state of Arab society that gave rise to linguistic responses in the form of descriptions of paradise: geography, agricultural products and plantations, socio-cultural conditions of society.

This study aimed at assessing and analyzing the bases of the standardization of KKNI-based curricular development of Arabic language education. The method used in this study was a qualitative method based on text analysis. Therefore, the analysis that was used to read and interpret qualitative data is content and system analyses. This study concluded that the standardization of Arabic language education curriculum should ideally be developed integratively, holistically and humanistically. Arabic language education curriculum development in the future must be based on philosophical, socio-cultural and linguistic theories, educational, technological and management educational bases; so that the Arabic language learning system developed could run more effectively. The standardization of KKNI and SNPT-based Arabic language curriculum should be developed as a multi-integrated system combined with four language skills plus study skills, theories of Arabic language education that are relevant to the development goals of the department, and the provision of real experience (e. g. live and interact with the Arab community) in a certain period of time in one of the Arab countries, while conducting a research and writing a scientific writing.DOI : 10.15408/a.v3i1.3187

This study aimed at investigating the problems of Arabic teachers’ professional competence in improving the quality of the graduates at MA Al-Musdariyah 2 Cimahi. Phenomenology, scientific approach, and a formal juridical approach were used as the method in this study. This study belonged to a case study. The result of this study showed that the main problems related to the teacher’s professional competence in teaching and learning Arabic were an unsuitable academic qualification, the lack of teachers’ welfare, teachers’ discipline and awareness, tutoring, and training. The implication of this study indicated that teachers’ professional competence to improve the quality of the graduates had been implemented. However, the implementation of teachers’ professional competence was considered less than optimal. It influenced the quality of the graduates. In other words, the objectives of teaching and learning activities were not achieved. Therefore, in this case, teachers as the most important factor in teaching and learning processes should improve their competences as a manifestation to improve the quality of the graduates.

The article aimed to study the phenomenon of overlapping literary genres in the Arabic literary works by identifying the types of literary genres and providing examples of the premises of Budaiya and Hariri, to draw the distinction made by this artistic phenomenon, and to make the most of it. The research ended with several results. The most important one was that Badi'uz-Zaman al-Hamdani succeeded in inventing a new art in Arabic literature, the art of establishing. This achievement was undoubtedly great and recorded by the scholars. However, the completion of Budaiya did not stop at this limit. It had also succeeded in creating an artistic phenomenon which did not pay attention to the past scholars’ views — i.e., the phenomenon of overlapping literary genres. Moreover, his student, Hariri, developed it. The authors were able to employ it to achieve their artistic, linguistic and social goals.

Developing theme in a text of Arabic reading is the basis in a creative writing. By understanding the pattern of theme development in a text, beginner who wants to write in Arabic is easier in arranging the idea. This article is a research to see a great correlation between thematic progression with the creative writing in Arabic. The book taken as sample was al-Qirâ’ah al-Râsyidah which is used in MAN Karang Anyar and MAN 1 Surakarta. Related to the rheme in developing the theme, the students of both school wrote their daily activity by using thematic progression patterns. The result of the study showed that there is a great correlation between thematic progression pattern with the creative writing in Arabic.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i2.2090

The ability to translate is one of the language skills that involves two languages both source language and the target language. This skill requires a good mastery of both languages, so it takes a lot of practice and adequate exercise. Learning Arabic-Indonesian translation based on a collaborative learning approach is one way that can be taken to improve the students’ ability in translating. This research was conducted to develop an instructional design model of Arabic-Indonesian translation based on the collaborative learning method. The research method applied was the Research and Development. The data collection techniques were observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis of qualitative and quantitative approaches was employed. Based on the results obtained that there is a significant increase students' ability in translating Arabic text into the text of Indonesia based on the significance test the average difference using t-test obtained t-test of 11.02 greater than t-table 2.68, which means that there are significant differences between the average value of the pretest and posttest. Based on the research finding, a conclusion can be drawn that field development constitutes the product of the learning model of Arabic-Indonesian translation for Arabic Department students of Jakarta State University.

This research aims to unravel Chomsky’s statment that generative transformation theory can be implemented in languages including Arabic. The main conclusions of this thesis was that generative transformation theory was carried out by Chomsky can be implemented into Alquran in all patterns. In Arabic grammar, however, especially in Alquran, these patterns were very diverse and varied. For example, there is a change in harakat, caused by the difference in position i'râb, al-ziyâdah which has lots of pattern or way, so did the placement pattern (al-ihlâl) and pattern i'âdat al-tartîb particularly at taqdîm wa ta'khîr and hadhf. However, the accuracy of Alquran sellection and the process of arrangement were truly remarkable, not only because of its i'jâz, but this is reflected in the results of the study and the findings of the theory of generative transformation implemented in Arabic Alquran.

Pedagogic & professional competence at the teacher is needed in the teaching & learning Arabic. Therefore it is needed a good preparation to support bath at competences in the teaching & learning Arabic. objectives of this study is to describe the important role of pedagogic and professional competence of Arabic teachers in Bandung, and their efforts to enhance both competences. The method used in this research is Naturalist Inquiry, by using Pedoman Penilaian Kinerja Guru Kemendiknas tahun 2010 for forty five Arabic teachers in Bandung. The result of the study showed that the degree of professional & pedagogic competence of Arabic teachers are normal (C). A caused by the linearity of their education. To be a Muallim Najih fi al-lughah Al-Arabiyah it needed a good professional and pedagogic competence.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1513
