Abstract

This study explores the implementation of transition animation techniques in the Toyota “Together Forever” advertisement to represent multi-generational user experiences in Indonesia. Within visual communication design, transitions serve as narrative instruments that bridge collective audience memories with brand identity. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, integrating visual semiotic analysis and micro-level frame-by-frame observations. The investigation focuses on deconstructing technical elements, such as match-cuts and seamless transitions, to reveal how these components construct perceptions of vehicle comfort and reliability chronologically. The central issue addressed is the visual strategy used to communicate product value consistency amidst changing eras. Findings indicate that precise animation methods create a cohesive narrative, positioning brand loyalty as a non-fragmented experience. These techniques act as a temporal bridge, reinforcing Toyota's role within the history of Indonesian families. This study demonstrates that the synergy between animation methods and user psychology is vital for effectively delivering brand messages within today’s digital media ecosystem.

Abstract

This study examines logo design as a strategic instrument for visual identity and institutional promotion within newly established academic programs. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through documentation, visual observation, and semi-structured interviews with the logo designer and program administrators. Analysis was conducted using visual identity theory, design semiotics, and institutional branding frameworks. The findings show that the logo of the Visual Communication Design Study Program at UHN Sugriwa successfully integrates cultural values, academic vision, and local philosophical meanings into its visual elements—shape, color, and typography. The design reflects the institutional narrative inspired by I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa and effectively builds a distinctive, culturally grounded identity. Furthermore, the logo functions as a strategic communication tool that strengthens institutional credibility and enhances promotional efforts aimed at prospective students. This study contributes to the discourse on culturally grounded identity design in higher education and highlights the role of logo design as a strategic component of institutional branding.
