Abstract

Self-regulated learning is an effort to manage an individual’s learning. This research aims to 1) determine the strategy of self-regulated learning (SRL) based on problem-solving toward the learners’ learning outcomes and 2) determine the learning outcome improvement of the learners in learning by using the SRL based-problem solving. This research is quantitative research with quasi-experimental type and pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling.  The research population covered all in Senior High School (SMA 5) Yogyakarta. The samples were from the tenth graders of Mathematics and Science Program 3 as the control group and Mathematics and Science Program 1 as the experimental group. The data collection methods consisted of test and non-test. The analysis result were, the hypothesis test showed that the applied strategy influenced the learners’ learning outcomes and the learners’ learning outcomes had improvements with the N-gain average score of 0.590, categorized moderate. Keywords: Problem-Solving, Self-Regulated Learning Strategy, Simple Harmonic MotionDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v9.n1.202106

Abstract

The purpose of thiis research is to develop multimedia with the STEM approach to stimulate HOTS on bioenergy and wind energy materials. The research and development (R&D) method uses the ADDIE design which consists of 5 step, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This article will only report the first two stages namely analysis and design. The instrument used was a product needs analysis questionnaire and a practitioner validation sheet using a Likert scale. The data source of the needs analysis phase is high school students and physics teachers in Lampung Province. Product design validation was carried out by professional physics-teacher teachers with a Masters in Physics Education qualification. Where data is collected via Google Form and analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The results showed that multimeEdia to stimulate HOTS on bioenergy and wind energy was needed in the field. Multimedia which has the potential to stimulate HOTS on bioenergy and wind energy materials consists of videos and simulation of bioenergy and wind energy plants that contain all STEM.Keywords: bioenergy, multimedia, stimulating HOTS, STEM, wind energyDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v8.n2.202001

Abstract

This study aims to develop an instrument for HOTS questions with the help of the Wondershare Quiz Creator application on Momentum and Impulse materials with design and material feasibility, suitable settings for HOTS questions with four types of HOTS questions, namely Multiple Choice, Multiple Responses, Sequence, and Matching. The research method used is Research and Development (R & D). This type of research is used to adapt the research design by Borg & Gall. The product development stages consist of research and data collection, planning, product development, product validation, product revision, and product results. The data collection technique used expert validation in developing HOTS questions based on CBT, then the data were analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The analysis shows that the validity of the design has an average value of 4.21 with very high quality or validity and the validity of the material has an average value of 3.75 with high quality or valid. The highest scores for design and material validity were multiple responses 4.22 and 3.79. At the levels on C4, C5, and C6,  there is no difference in the validity and complexity of thinking caused by different types of questions. Keywords: CBT, HOTS, Momentum and Impulse, Wondershare quiz creator (WQC)DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v9.n1.202110

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of online learning in physics subjects. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods and data obtained by providing evaluation and observation tests. The subject of this study was grade X as many as 18 students. To find out the effectiveness of online physics learning, an evaluation was carried out with an essay test of 5 questions and an observation sheet of 5 types of assessment. Then the results were analyzed by descriptive qualitative.  Based on the results of the analysis, 27.8% got the moderate category, 61.1% got low scores and 11.1% got the very low category. Then for the student activity assessment sheet, there is 14.5% student attendance, 13% of students pay attention to the teacher's explanation, 2.8% of students and do other activities actively during the learning process, and 15% collect assignments. Online learning is ineffective in pandemics. The cause of the low percentage is due to the many obstacles faced by students in participating in online learning, one of which is the lack of supporting facilities for online learning. Keywords: Effectiveness, Physics Learning, Online Learning, PandemicDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v8.n2.202006

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine students' creative thinking abilities after being given a problem-based learning (PBL) model with practicum method on energy conversion material. The Quasi-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design was used in this study. The measurement of the effect of students' creative thinking abilities uses 10 questions of creative thinking abilities with indicators, i.e. elaboration and flexibility. The questions were given to students before and after being treated and the results of the data were analyzed using paired sample T-Test and N-Gain. Hypothesis test results about the effect of students' creative thinking abilities using problem-based learning models with practicum on energy conversion material obtained asymp sig values. (2 tailed) of 0.001 and the value of N-Gain is 0,672. Based on these results, it is known that students experience an increase in the ability to think creatively after being given learning with a problem-based learning model with practicum methods on energy conversion material. Therefore, problem-based learning models with the practicum method affects students' creative thinking abilities on energy conversion material. Keywords: Creative thinking, Practicum method, PBLDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v9.n1.202102

Abstract

This study aims to examine the characteristics of the lift motion based on apparent weight data. This type of research is quantitative research with a survey method. The results showed that the apparent weight change only occurred when the elevator started moving and just before it stopped, acceleration at the beginning of the motion and deceleration at the end of the motion. Elevator has two characteristics of motion; straight motion with constant velocity and straight motion with constant acceleration. Straight motion with constant acceleration consists of accelerated motion that occurs at the beginning of the elevator motion, and straight motion with constant acceleration slowed down at the end of the elevator motion. Meanwhile, straight motion with constant velocity occurs with a longer duration. This study's results have implications for learning physics, one of which can be used as data to develop learning resources for physics in the form of student worksheets. Keywords: Apparent weight, Elevator motion, Newton's lawDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpf.v9.n1.202103
