Abstract

The research goal is to investigate the influence of preceptorship clinical supervision using Bandura’s social cognitive modeltoward clinical competence improvement of nursing diploma students.  This research was quasi experiment using pre-posttest with control groups design. The subjects of this research were nursing diploma students who performed internship in RSJ Grhasia during 6-25 April 2015. Twenty four students which were divided into 2 groups, each of which consisted of 12 students as experimental and the rest played in control groups. Random sampling technique was used as sampling technique, the data was analyzed using independent sample T test. The results showed that preceptorship clinical supervision using Bandura’s social cognitive model improvedthe students’ clinical competence. The experiment groups’ mean of the gain score was 112 (SD±2,958), while the control group’s was 90,83 (SD±17,0,39). Thus, it can be concluded that preceptorship clinical supervision using Bandura’s social cognitive model can improve student clinical competencies compare to conventional clinical supervision method. This research can be used as a reference in developing guidance services of students through preceptorship guidance to improve clinical competence of nursing diploma students.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the relationship between the counselor’ interpersonal attractiveness and the students' motivation in participating the group guidance. This was a correlational study. The subject of this study was 246 students of the eleventh grade of state senior high schools in Malang city as the respondents. The subject of this study was taken by cluster random sampling technique. This study employed Pearson product-moment correlational test to analyze the data.  The result of this study showed a positive and significant relationship between the counselor’ interpersonal attractiveness and state senior high school students’ motivation in participating group guidance by (r = 0.622) and (p= 0.000 < 0.05). Higher counselor’ interpersonal attractiveness leads to higher students’ motivation in participating group guidance. This study proved the importance of the counselor’ interpersonal attractiveness in providing group guidance so that the students are highly motivated to participate in group guidance service.

Abstract

Eksplorasi karier merupakan upaya untuk memahami karakteristik diri individu dan karakteristik lingkungan karier dalam berbagai setting karier dan budaya di mana karier berada. Tujuan dari eksplorasi karier bagi anak usia SLTP tidak lain adalah untuk memilah dan memilih berbagai informasi tentang diri dan lingkungannya sehingga anak dapat menentukan pilihan yang tepat sesuai dengan karakteritik dirinya yang pada gilirannya ia akan mencapai kemandirian. Dalam eksplorasi karier anak berhadapan dengan berbagai lingkungan karier yang berbeda baik dalam karakteristik maupun jenisnya, sehingga diperlukan kecerdasan emosional disamping kecerdasan kognitif agar anak dapat membangkitkan motivasinya, mengelola emosinya untuk lebih cerdas dalam memilih dan memakai informasi dalam membuat keputusan karier utamanya dalam kelanjutan studi di sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Peran kecerdasan emosional dalam eksplorasi karier berhubungan dengan wilayah kecerdasan emosional, yaitu dalam mengenali emosi diri, mengelola emosi, memotivasi diri, mengenali emosi orang lain (empati), dan membina hubungan dengan orang lain.Kata kunci: kecerdasan emosional, eksplorasi karier.

Abstract

This study aims to determine efetivitas group counseling in improving conflict management students. This type of research used in this research is action research in guidance and counseling (PTBK). The research was conducted at SMK N 5 Yogyakarta, at Jl. Walnuts 71 Rt 21 Rw 07 Muja Muju Umbulharjo Yogyakarta. When the study was conducted in the first semester of the academic year 2014/2015, with research subjects timber A class XI student of SMK N 5 Yogyakarta TA. 2014/2015, amounting to 8 students. Tenik sampling using purposive sampling and data analysis techniques used to examine differences between the mean pretest and posttest after the action using t-test formula. The results of this research that there is an increase conflict management capacity at the student based on the pretest and posttest that shows that before the given action in the form of group counseling services in the medium category with the number 6 frequency by 75% and the high category with a number of second frequency by 25%. Once given the actions that are in the high category with a number of frequency of 4 by 50% and very high category with a frequency of 4 by 50%. Information from this research for teachers BK can be used as a basis for development of group counseling services to help increase conflict management capacity within each student. The results of this study may also be useful for parents, principals, deputy principal of student field, homeroom and subject teachers as information in an effort to improve students' ability of conflict management.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of rational emotive behavioral counseling through imagery technique as an effort to enhance the psychological resilience of the students with low socio-economy status. This research used quantitative-qualitative approach with mixed research method. Quasi experimental design to test the effectiveness of the intervention useing non-equivalentpretest-posttest control group design. It was conducted in Universitas Pendidikan Indonesiain Serang Regional Campus by 160 students as participants who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The data was collected by using Adolescence’s Resilience Scale and Activity Journal. The result indicated that rational emotive behavioral counseling through imagery technique proved empirically effective to enhance the resilience of the students with low socio-economy status. Based on t-test from pretest and posttest experiment group result, it can be seen that H0 was rejected (t count = 8.152 and t table=1.760.) This research can be used as a reference in improving the resilience of students with low socio-economic status by the guidance and counseling sevice unit in universities, lecturers, counselors at the college to improve low economic status students’ resilience.

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the students’ satisfaction towards the counselor’ performance in the individual counseling service on SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Yogyakarta. This was a descriptive quantitative study. The data of this study were collected through questionnaires. The subjects of this study were thirty-five students. This study employed descriptive statistical analysis to analyze the data. The result of this study showed that the students’ satisfaction towards the school counselor performance covers three aspects of individual counseling service (the beginning, the middle, and the end) in SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Yogyakarta. Six students were categorized as very satisfied (17%), twenty three students were categorized as satisfied (66%), and six students were categorized as not satisfied (17%).  The result of this study can be a reference for school counselor as the evaluation in improving the quality of school counselor’ performance in the individual counseling service.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of  reality counseling in developing students’ career decision making skill.  This study employed quasi-experimental study with non-equivalent control group design. The data were collected by using Career Decision Making Skill scale. The subjects of this study were thirty students of SMAN 1 Karangnongko. This study employed purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using Mann-Whitney statistical formula. The result of this study showed that counseling reality was effective to develop students’ career decision making skill. This study generated a new counseling strategy for counselor in developing career decision making.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran stres yang dialami siswa yang tidak lulus dalam Ujian Nasional dan strategi coping pada siswa yang tidak lulus Ujian Nasional dalam menyikapi kegagalannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan tipe fenomenologi, yang lebih berorientasi pada pengungkapan fenomena yang diteliti berdasarkan persepsi responden yang diteliti. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang siswa laki-laki dan perempuan yang dinyatakan tidak lulus dalam Ujian Nasional tahun ajaran 2009/2010. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara semi terstruktur dan ditambah dengan hasil observasi terhadap responden.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stres yang dialami siswa yang tidak lulus Ujian Nasional adalah karena adanya persepsi ketidaksesuaian antara prestasi belajar dan usaha yang dilakukan dengan hasil Ujian Nasional yang ia terima. Ketidaksesuaian tersebut memunculkan respon stres baik berupa emosi, fisik, ataupun perilaku. Respon stres tersebut memunculkan perilaku coping pada kedua subjek, adanya perbedaan kemampuan kognitif membuat adanya perbedaan dalam menggunakan strategi coping pada masing-masing subjek. Kedua subjek dalam penelitian ini mengkombinasikan emotion focused coping dan problem focused coping, tetapicenderung lebih banyak menggunakan emotion focused coping.Kata Kunci : Ketidaklulusan Ujian Nasional, stres, strategi coping.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomenon hedonistic lifestyle among students, it is possible the student guidance and counseling. This study aims to determine the cause of the lifestyle of hedonism student guidance and counseling class of 2011 at the Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta. This research was conducted using qualitative research case study, which explores in more depth about the problems associated with the lifestyle of hedonism student guidance and counseling class of 2011 at the Ahmad Dahlan University Yogyakarta. A researcher using purposive sampling for the subjects to be studied attention to their special characteristics or properties owned. Researchers get 3 men and 2 women who were subjects in this study. Results of the research have shown that students hedonistic lifestyle guidance and counseling class of 2011 was motivated by external factors, namely family and friends association. Disharmony in the family and lack of attention, affection, regulations both within families and communities create pressure within the individual, and the persuasion of friends, making its difficult escape from the snare lifestyle of hedonism. Research results helpful in providing information for parents who have a child as a student of the hedonistic lifestyle of students, besides the results of research can help parents prevent behavior for a lifestyle of hedonism.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling technique using Malang mask puppets media to enhance the fairness of elementary school students’ character. The research design is true experiment with pretest-posttest one-group designs. The subject of research was ten students of grade VI Elementary School in Malang determined through the random assignment technique. Data collection instruments used questionnaires of character fairness and observation guidelines. Data analysis technique was used to test the effectiveness of the Storytelling technique using Wilcoxon test. The results of data analysis shows significant value (sig) 0.005> 0.05, which means that the hypothesis is accepted. So we can conclude that storytelling technique using a Malang mask media can improve effectively the character of fairness of grade VI elementary school students. The results of this study is useful for elementary school teachers and guidance and counseling teachers as an alternative to an effective technique to develop character fairness of elementary school students.
