Abstract

Based on previous studies, elementary school students often experience errors in solving word problems on cube and block material. Confirmed Newman Error Analysis (NEA) can analyze the location of student errors in solving word problems. Hence, the purpose of this study was to analyze the errors made by students in solving word problems based on NEA. The type of research used is qualitative research with case studies. The research subjects were 34 students of grade five elementary students with data collection techniques, including tests, interview sheets, and documentation. Data analysis using NEA consists of five stages: reading, comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding. From the study results, reading errors were 12,74%, comprehension errors were 51,96%, transformation errors were 9,8%, process skills errors were 52,94%, and encoding errors were 67,64% of students. These errors are caused because students do not read and understand the questions, do not know the formulas and arithmetic operations model used, and count errors.

Abstract

Permasalahan di SMP N 3 Purwodadi antara lain belum adanya LKPD yang berbasis Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM). Melihat permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pengembangan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM) pada materi geometri SMP yang memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi numerasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE dengan lima tahapan, yaitu: tahap analisis, tahap desain, tahap pengembangan, tahap implementasi,dan tahap evaluasi. Subjek uji coba pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII D SMP N 3 Purwodadi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar validasi, angket respon peserta didik, dan angket respon guru. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh dari penilaian kevalidan LKPD oleh dosen program studi pendidikan matematika dan guru matematika SMP N 3 Purwodadi memenuhi kriteria sangat valid dengan rata-rata 4,52; dan dengan skor rata-rata 4,55 didapatkan penilaian kepraktisan LKPD berdasarkan respon peserta didik dan respon guru yang memenuhi kriteria sangat praktis. Oleh karena itu, dapat dikatakan bahwa LKPD berbasis AKM valid dan praktis untuk diimplementasikan pada pembelajaran matematika. Problems at SMP N 3 Purwodadi include the absence of LKPD based on Minimum Competency Assessment. Seeing these problems, this study aims to find out how the process of developing Student Worksheets based on Minimum Competency Assessment on junior high school geometry material that meets valid and practical criteria to improve students' numeracy literacy skills. This study uses the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The test subjects in this study were students of class VIII D SMP N 3 Purwodadi. Collecting data using validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and teacher response questionnaires. The results of this study were obtained from the validity of the Student Worksheets by lecturers of the mathematics education study program and mathematics teachers at SMP N 3 Purwodadi meeting the very valid criteria with an average of 4.52; and with an average score of 4.55, the practicality assessment of the Student Worksheet was obtained based on student responses and teacher responses that met the very practical criteria. Therefore, it can be said that the Student Worksheet based on the Minimum Competency Assessment is valid and practical to be implemented in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian tentang implementasi STEM dalam pembelajaran semakin banyak dilakukan, sehingga perlu adanya penelitian yang merangkum hasil – hasil temuan penelitian STEM dalam pembelajaran Matematika khususnya pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang implementasi pendekatan STEM (Sains, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada tingkat SD, SMP, SMA dan Perguruan Tinggi. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) digunakan untuk mensintesis studi yang relevan dengan tujuan penelitian ini. Melalui mesin mencari Google Scholar, Directory Open Access Journal (DOAJ Semantic Scholar, serta Education Resources information Center (ERIC) diperoleh 28 studi primer yang diterbitkan dari tahun 2015 sampai tahun 2022 masuk kriteria inklusi untuk dianalisis lebih lanjut. Hasil penelitian memberikan informasi bahwa pendekatan STEM memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan berpikir kritis matematis siswa/mahasiswa. Project Based Learning dan Problem Based Learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang secara signifikan sesuai untuk diterapkan dalam pendidikan STEM. Beberapa tinjauan karakteristik penelitian seperti ukuran sampel, tingkat pendidikan dan tahun penelitian dapat diteliti lebih lanjut untuk penelitian selanjutnya. Integrasi STEM dengan model pembelajaran dapat digunakan oleh pendidik untuk memfasilitasi siswa dengan berbagai tugas berbasis proyek dan pemecahan masalah. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pengetahuan bagi pendidik dan peneliti tentang bagaimana seharusnya STEM diterapkan dalam pembelajaran matematika terkait dengan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa.Kata kunci: STEM, berpikir kreatif matematis, berpikir kritis matematis Abstract Research on the implementation of STEM in learning has been carried out, but there has been no research that summarizes the findings of STEM research in mathematics learning, especially on critical thinking skills and mathematical creative thinking skills. This study aims to obtain a description of the implementation of the STEM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in improving critical thinking skills and mathematical creative thinking skills at the elementary, junior high, high school and university students. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was used to synthesize studies relevant to the objectives of this study. Through the search engine Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) and Directory Open Access Journal (DOAJ), 28 primary studies published from 2015 to 2022 fitted the inclusion criteria for further analysis. The results of study showed that the STEM approach has a positive effect on increasing students' creative thinking skills and mathematical critical thinking skill. Project Based Learning and Problem Based Learning are learning models that are significantly suitable to be applied in STEM education. Several reviews of research characteristics such as sample size, education level and years of research can be investigated further for further research. The integration of STEM with learning models can be used by educators to facilitate students with various project-based tasks and problem solving. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menghasilkan produk pembelajaran berupa lembar kerja interaktif yang disajikan dengan langkah-langkah pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang valid dan praktis pada proses pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengacu pada model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima langkah pengembangan, yaitu analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Subyek penelitian adalah 6 siswa dalam uji coba lapangan awal dan 24 siswa dalam uji coba dari kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kragilan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa lembar kerja interaktif pada pembelajaran daring untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi dapat digunakan dalam aktivitas pembelajaran karena memenuhi persyaratan validitas dan kepraktisan produk. Validitas lembar kerja siswa yang dikembangkan memperoleh persentase validitas ahli pendidikan sebesar 86,67% dengan kategori yang sangat valid dan persentase validitas ahli media sebesar 85,00% dengan kategori yang cukup valid. Kepraktisan siswa yang mengalami perkembangan sebesar 80,83% dengan kategori yang sangat praktis pada tahap uji coba lapangan dan persentase yang diperoleh pada tahap uji coba lapangan adalah 83,23% dengan kategori yang sangat praktis. Pengembangan lembar kerja ini dapat dijadikan rujukan bagi guru dalam membuat lembar kerja peserta didik yang dapat melatih peserta didik melakukan kegiatan berpikir tingkat tinggi, serta sebagai alternatif dan variasi pembelajaran matematika yang sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi masa kini.This study aims to develop and produce educational products in the form of interactive student worksheets which are presented with problem based learning steps for valid and practical high-level thinking skills of students to support the online learning process. This research is a development research that refers to ADDIE  model which consists of five steps of development, analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation.. The research subjects were 6 students in the initial field trial and 24 students in the trial from class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Kragilan. Based on the results of the study, it was found that student worksheets with problem based learning for higher order thinking skills can be used in learning activities because they meet the requirements of product validity and practicality. The validity of the developed electronic worksheets obtained a percentage of educational expert validity of 86.67% with a very valid category and a me-dia expert validity percentage of 85.00% with a fairly valid category. The practicality of students who de-veloped by 80.83% with a very practical category at the field trial stage and the percentage obtained at the field trial stage was 83.23% with a very practical category. The development of this LKPD can be used as a reference for teachers in creating learner worksheets that can train learners carrying out higher-order thinking activities, as well as as alternatives and variations mathematics learning in accordance with the technological developments of the times now.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahanmasalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa, untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa melalui model pembelajaran problem based learning. Jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Instumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pretest dan posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan angket self-efficacy siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data menggunakan uji Paired Sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika yang diajarkan melalui model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa (P_value < 0,05), Pembelajaran matematika yang diajarkan melalui model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dikategori tinggi (N_gain = 0,73) dan self-efficacy. dikategori sedang (N_gain = 0,62). Hasil ini mengungkapkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning dapat menjadi salah satu solusi dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self-efficacy siswa sehingga pemecahan masalah siswa meningkat, khususnya pembelajaran matematika.The research objective to analyze the effect of problem based learning learning model on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy, to determine the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy through problem based learning learning models. The type of research is quasi-experimental and the research design is One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research instruments used were pretest and posttest of mathematical problem solving abilities and student self-efficacy q questionnaire. Based on the results of data processing using the Paired Sample t-test, it shows that learning mathematics taught through the problem based learning model can have a positive effect on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy (P_value < 0.05). problem based learning can improve mathematical problem solving skills in the high category (N_gain = 0.73) and self-efficacy. categorized as moderate (N_gain = 0.62). These results reveal that the problem based learning model can be a solution in developing students' mathematical problem solving abilities and self-efficacy so that students' problem solving increases, especially in learning mathematics

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan pemecahan masalah siswa Kelas IX SMP/MTs Kota Padangsidimpuan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita bangun ruang sisi lengkung dengan menggunakan prosedur pemecahan masalah Polya. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini ialah metode analisis deskriptif. Teknik stratified proportional random sampling digunakan dalam menentukan sampel penelitian. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 109 siswa kelas IX SMP/MTs Negeri Kota Padangsidimpuan. Instrument penelitian berupa tes soal yang telah divalidasi berbentuk soal cerita. Analisis data dilakukan dengan melihat kesalahan penyelesaian siswa mengerjakan soal dengan prosedur Polya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kesalahan siswa pada memahami masalah sebesar 29%, pada perencanaan strategi 10%, pelaksanaan penyelesaian 18%, dan pemeriksaan kembali 6%. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa kesalahan yang dominan terjadi ialah kesalahan memahami masalah dan kesalahan yang jarang dilakukan ialah pada pemeriksaan kembali.

Abstract

The structure of thinking is a representation of the thought process in the form of a problem-solving flow that is carried out by a person when he resolves a problem. many students make mistakes in solving problems. One way that can be done to overcome these errors is to defragment the structure of thought. This study aims to describe the students’ erroneous thinking structure in solving mathematical argument and the defragmenting efforts. The students of 10th Grade of high school in Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia, were involved as research subjects. They were selected based on three criteria, namely low, moderate and high level of procedural error. The activity of ‘think out loud’ was used to observe the errors made by students in solving mathematical argument. The data obtained from this activity were codified and later used as a basis to perform the defragmenting process. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that procedural errors in solving mathematical argument are in the form of error in determining the value of x from an equation, modeling an argument, and proving a valid argument. Defragmenting was done using scaffolding approach to improve students' thinking structure in solving mathematical problems

Abstract

Creative thinking was characterized by the emergence of new ideas which was an important skill for students. Lateral thinking was one way to grow new ideas. Generally, related research was carried out to see the thinking process and its level only with the results of the majority of low levels (especially in geometry problems), so further research was needed to find out what were the obstacles. This study aims to find mathematical lateral thinking barriers  based on brain dominance. This research was a qualitative research with a case study approach. The instruments were a brain dominance test, creativity questions, and geometry questions for lateral thinking. Triangulation of data collection techniques was carried out To ensure data validity. Obtained two main subjects LCS and RCS. Analysis of subjects' answers, interview and observations transcripts were carried out by coding the inhibiting factors then analyzed by Toulmin's arguments analysis. We findings that left-brain dominant student experience ontogenic barriers in finding something new caused bounded by concepts and right-brain dominant student experience epistemological barriers in finding different ways cause bounded by context. Further research was needed with students who have high mathematical abilities and creativity to find out how to overcome lateral thinking obstacles.

Abstract

Mathematics learning achievement is influenced by the determination of minimum completeness criteria or cut scores which are the limits of student learning mastery scores as a measure of the achievement of the specified competencies. The cut score becomes a reference for teachers and students in achieving learning outcomes. This study aims to determine how students' chances of learning achievement are influenced by their self-efficacy and gender differences based on the set cut score. This is qualitative research using statistical analysis of a linear log model. This study describes systematically the analysis of the relationship between self-efficacy and mathematics learning outcomes based on gender differences with the best model offered by the results of the linear log statistical test. The subjects of this study were 192 junior high school students in Majalengka Regency, West Java, Indonesia. The selection of research subjects was carried out using a purposive sampling technique based on the research objectives in the form of the diversity of self-efficacy and student gender. All variables in this study are categorical variables classified based on the variable type and arranged in a contingency table. The results showed that the conditional association model was suitable for use in this research case with two interactions that occurred, namely (1) gender with learning outcomes in mathematics and (2) self-efficacy with learning outcomes in mathematics. Based on the analysis of the model obtained, three probability values can be concluded in general, namely: (1) the chances of female students having mastery in learning mathematics are greater than male students; (2) the chances of students with high self-efficacy are 3.99 times greater in getting mastery in learning mathematics, and (3) the chances of students with moderate self-efficacy are 2.06 times greater in getting mastery in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Kemampuan verbal, kemampuan numerik dan kemampuan literasi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang harus dikuasai siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan numerik terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD Negeri 011 Nongsa yang berjumlah 118 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik Sampling Jenuh. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan alat tes pilihan ganda telah diperiksa validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Untuk tes kemampuan verbal diperoleh 10 item valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,805, tes kemampuan numerik diperoleh 7 item valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,748, dan tes kemampuan literasi matematis diperoleh 7 item valid dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,753. Uji prasyarat meliputi uji normalitas, linieritas, heteroskedastisitas, multikolinearitas dan autokorelasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1)terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan verbal dengan kemampuan literasi matematis terlihat dari nilai signifikansi kemampuan verbal (0,007) < taraf signifikansi (0,05). (2)terdapat pengaruh antara kemampuan numerik dengan kemampuan literasi matematis terlihat dari nilai signifikansi kemampuan numerik (0,002) < taraf signifikansi (0,05). (3)terdapat pengaruh secara bersama–sama antara kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan numerik dengan kemampuan literasi matematis terlihat dari nilai signifikansi (0,000) < taraf signifikansi (0,05).
