Abstract

The problem of Addition Operation of Functions often emerges in Junior National Science and Math Olympiads at the regional level, provincial level, and national level. Non-routine questions related to the addition of functions tested In the Junior National Science Math Olympiad are more concern on the problem-solving. The questions have complex types and these types cannot directly solved by common routine procedures. Systematic-logical thinking and high level of understanding ability are required to solve the problem. There are some basic strategies which can be implemented to find the right solutions. Blended strategy plays a significant role to solve the problem. This research will discuss about the strategy to simplify equal group problem from another point of view in order to solve the addition of functions problem in the Junior National Science Math Olympiad. The implementation of the strategy is based on the Polya’s Problem-Solving Techniques.

Abstract

This study analyzed the mathematical problem solving strategy that combines a backward step and reasoned logically to answer the High School Olympic level problems related to number theory for the district, national, and provincial level which are often issued from year to year. The mentioned problem is more about the application of number theory problem, which is determine a number and the value of the questioned number. The study began by analyzing some Olympic problems. These problems are answered and resolved by a combination of mathematical problem solving strategies, which are backward step and reasoned logically. Implementation of this solving problem should also be adjusted with Polya step which is consists of four stages. Polya step is used to give better structured problem solving. Compared with trial and error method, this analyze can give an effective combination to determine a number and the value of a number.

Abstract

Di dalam suatu model epidemi dengan waktu tundaan diskrit, jika berubahnya waktu tundaan dapat mengakibatkan perubahan sifat kestabilan dari titik ekuilibrium penyakitnya, maka dikatakan terjadi bifurkasi Hopf di titik ekuilibrium penyakit tersebut. Secara umum bifurkasi membicarakan tentang perubahan struktur orbit dari suatu sistem persamaan diferensial seiring dengan perubahan nilai parameternya. Didalam analisa kestabilan titik ekuilibrium model epidemi dengan waktu tundaan diskrit , waktu tundaan dianggap sebagai parameter bifurkasi. Kemudian bifurkasi yang berkaitan dengan adanya nilai eigen kompleks murni disebut bifurkasi Hopf (Andronov Hopf).Kata kunci : bifurkasi Hopf , waktu tundaan , nilai eigen kompleks murni.

Abstract

In the era of Industry 4.0, the need for more attractive and interactive learning instruments has become increasingly evident, especially considering the declining interest in traditional lecture methods among students. The learning media developed in this study aims to leverage multimedia elements such as text, images, animations, and videos to enhance students' understanding and capture their attention towards abstract mathematical concepts. By utilizing the Blogger platform, this media provides flexible access for both teachers and students, offering a more active, enjoyable, and participatory learning experience. This research focuses on developing interactive learning media for Grade 10 students using a Blogger platform for the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables. The learning media is designed to meet the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing students' learning interest, while also evaluating the levels of these criteria in the media. The Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed in this study, using the ADDIE model which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, student and teacher response questionnaires, model feedback instruments, Pancasila profile instruments, and student learning interest instruments. The trial was conducted in Class X BDP, involving 41 students selected through purposive sampling. Validation results indicate that this learning media has a high level of validity, with an average score of 92.2% from material experts and 83.5% from media experts. The practicality of the media, based on student and teacher responses, model feedback, and the Pancasila profile, showed an average score of 3.4 (good) from students, 3.8 (very good) from teachers, 3.4 (good) from model feedback, and 3.3 (good) from the Pancasila profile. The learning media's effectiveness is evidenced by a 68% improvement in students' learning interest, categorizing it as moderately effective. The study concludes that the interactive learning media based on the Blogger platform for Grade 10 Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables satisfies the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective for classroom use. Moreover, this media provides significant flexibility for teachers in designing and presenting learning materials, while also offering students the chance to learn independently and interactively. Therefore, this learning media not only enhances learning interest but also provides a comprehensive and holistic learning experience.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Di era teknologi 4.0, kebutuhan akan instrumen pembelajaran yang lebih atraktif dan interaktif menjadi semakin jelas, terutama mengingat metode ceramah tradisional yang semakin kurang diminati oleh siswa. Dengan menggunakan teks, gambar, animasi, dan video, penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa serta menarik perhatian mereka terhadap konsep-konsep matematika yang sering kali bersifat abstrak. Dengan menggunakan platform Blogger, media ini tidak hanya memberikan akses yang fleksibel bagi guru dan siswa, tetapi juga menawarkan pengalaman belajar yang lebih aktif, menyenangkan, dan partisipatif. Penelitian ini secara khusus difokuskan pada pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif untuk siswa Kelas X, yang memanfaatkan situs website blogger pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Media ini dirancang agar memenuhi kriteria validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, serta untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan media pembelajaran tersebut. Pendekatan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dengan menerapkan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahap Analisis, Desain, Pengembangan, Implementasi, serta Evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi lembar validasi oleh ahli, angket respon siswa dan guru, instrumen feedback gelar model, profil Pancasila, serta instrumen minat belajar siswa. Uji coba dilakukan pada kelas X BDP dengan melibatkan 41 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran ini memiliki tingkat validitas yang tinggi dengan rata-rata skor 92,2% dari ahli materi dan 83,5% dari ahli media. Kepraktisan media, berdasarkan respon siswa dan guru, feedback gelar model, dan profil Pancasila, menunjukkan skor rata-rata 3,4 (baik) dari siswa, 3,8 (sangat baik) dari guru, 3,4 (baik) dari feedback gelar model, dan 3,3 (baik) dari profil Pancasila. Efektivitas media pembelajaran ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan minat belajar siswa sebesar 68% (cukup efektif). Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis website blogger untuk materi SPLDV kelas X telah memenuhi kriteria sebagai alat yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, pengajar memiliki keleluasaan yang signifikan dalam membuat dan menyampaikan konten pendidikan dengan media ini, serta libatkan diri dalam pembelajaran mandiri dan tingkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran ini tidak hanya meningkatkan minat belajar, tetapi juga memberikan pengalaman belajar yang komprehensif dan menyeluruh.

Abstract

Teachers of MGMP Mathematics SMP/MTs Jatinom Coordinator Area of Klaten have found that many students still fail to complete tasks on algebra material correctly. This clearly shows that students are struggling to learn algebra. On the other hand, we must address the issue of learning mathematics in a play situation, which has become a concern of late. Games are an effective tool for helping students learn and encouraging their participation in an engaging, interactive learning environment. This community service activity will assist teachers in MGMP Mathematics SMP/MTs Jatinom Coordinator Area Klaten in making Card Sorting Games on the topic of algebra. After participating in this activity, teachers will be able to develop learning algebra material in a play situation with the help of card media. Teachers will work in groups to create a Card Sorting Game design on the topic of algebra. They will do this both online and offline. The response of the teachers was positive. They were active participants during the activity.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of Kanoma’s learning media in improving the understanding of mathematical concepts in high school students in class X. This research applied development research design with the PLOMP approach developed by Tjeerd Plomp. The stages of development using the PLOMP approach include preliminary investigation, product design, construction, testing, and implementation. The population in this research were all ten-grade students at a vocational high school. The research sample consisted of 16 students in the experimental class and 14 students in the control class. These students were selected randomly using the cluster random sampling technique. The instruments utilized in the study included assessments by media experts, questionnaires for students and teachers, and pretest and posttest evaluations of mathematical understanding. The instruments given to media experts is used to validate the Kanoma media and its content. The questionnaires for students and teachers were used to test the practicality of the developed Kanoma media. These quistionnaires gathered feedback on how easy and useful the media was in a classroom setting. The pretest and posttest were designed to measure students’ understanding of mathematical concepts related to finding the roots of quadratic equations. The average value given by material experts from the two validators of Kanoma’s media is 0.82. The average value given by media experts from the two validators is 0.90. The results show that the Kanoma media was categorized as “very valid” by both material and media experts. This indicates that media was suitable for use by class X students in senior high school. Kanoma media is also classified as practical based on the average percentage of student and teacher responses. The responses from students scored 73%, categorized as “practice”. The responses from teachers scored 81%, categorized as “very practice.” Kanoma media is effective based on the Mann-Whitney Asyptotic Sig. (0.002) <α (0.05). The results showed a significant improvement in mathematical understanding. Students who used the Kanoma media had a better grasp of the mathematical concepts than those who did not.

Abstract

While the cross national comparative analysis of mathematics textbooks is an expanding field of research, a dedicated bibliometric mapping to identify research gaps and provide clear directions for future inquiry is notably absent. Therefore, this study aims to provide a bibliometric analysis that maps publication trends, identifies the most influential authors and documents, and delineates research gaps to offer clear signposts for future research. The methodology involves a qualitative analysis and mapping of data retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 2010–2024. Following a screening process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, a final corpus of 89 papers was selected for synthesis in this study. The analysis software, VOSviewer, was employed for keyword co-occurrence and co-citation mapping, supplemented by distribution diagrams for trend analysis. Four main findings emerged: first, there has been a significant and increasingly multidisciplinary growth in publications. Second, a thematic evolution is observed, shifting from structural reviews towards more complex evaluative approaches focused on cognitive load and learning implications. Third, research gaps were identified concerning the linguistic presentation of mathematical concepts and the inclusion of social values. Finally, the analysis highlights the most influential authors and articles in the field. Implications of this study are expected to serve as a compass for researchers, guiding them toward achieving novelty in future comparative analyses of mathematics textbooks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menilai apakah media pembelajaran berbasis discovery learning berbantuan Articulate Storyline valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa terkait materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan (R&D) yang mengikuti langkah-langkah model pengembangan ADDIE. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII D di SMP Negeri 23 Purworejo. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan perhitungan persentase untuk analisis kevalidan dan kepraktisan, serta uji N-Gain dan Wilcoxon Sign berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai keefektifan produk. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan skor rata-rata 78,33% dari ahli materi dan 80,43% dari ahli media; hasil uji praktikalitas menunjukkan skor rata-rata 84,75% dari penilaian siswa dan 80,56% dari penilaian guru; dan hasil uji tanda Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa skor post-test lebih tinggi dari skor pre-test, dengan rata-rata N-Gain 0,44, yang termasuk dalam kategori peningkatan sedang. Kesimpulannya, media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa terkait materi bangun ruang sisi datar. This study aimed to develop and assess whether the discovery learning-based learning media, supported by Articulate Storyline, is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts related to flat-sided space buildings. This research is a type of development study (R&D) that follows the ADDIE development model steps. The research subjects were students of class VIII D at SMP Negeri 23 Purworejo. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis involved percentage calculations for validity and practicality analysis, as well as N-Gain and Wilcoxon Sign tests based on pre-test and post-test results to assess the effectiveness of the product. The validity test results showed an average score of 78.33% from material experts and 80.43% from media experts; The practicality test results showed an average score of 84.75% from student assessments and 80.56% from teacher assessments; and The Wilcoxon sign test results indicated that the post-test score was higher than the pre-test score, with an average N-Gain of 0.44, which falls under the moderate improvement category. In conclusion, the developed learning media is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts related to flat-sided space buildings.

Abstract

Abstrak Penalaran aljabar menjadi topik hangat dalam dua dekade terakhir, tetapi siswa sekolah menengah mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari hal ini, sebab mengalami transformasi dari pemikiran aritmatika ke pemikiran aljabar yang abstrak. Penelitian ini menganalisis artikel penalaran aljabar dari basis data Scopus berdasarkan tahun penelitian, metode, dan sebaran geografis dalam satu dekade. Penelitian disajikan melalui tinjauan literatur sistematis dengan menggunakan protokol PRISMA meliputi Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analytic. Dari proses seleksi, didapatkan 29 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan lolos tiga tahap penyaringan. Penelitian dengan topik ini cenderung mengalami penurunan, terutama dalam 4 tahun terakhir. Metode yang paling sering digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif karena dianggap peneliti sangat cocok untuk meneliti kemampuan berpikir. Dari 8 wilayah yang melakukan penelitian penalaran aljabar, Indonesia merupakan negara yang paling banyak melakukannya. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya penalaran aljabar siswa. Peluang penelitian pada topik ini masih terbuka lebar dengan menggunakan penelitian ini sebagai rujukan. Abstract Algebraic reasoning has become a hot topic in the last two decades, but high school students have difficulty in learning it, because they experience a transformation from arithmetic thinking to abstract algebraic thinking. This study analyzes algebraic reasoning articles from the Scopus database based on the year of research, methods, and geographical distribution in one decade. The research is presented through a systematic literature review using the PRISMA protocol including the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analytic. From the selection process, 29 articles were obtained that met the inclusion criteria and passed three stages of screening. Research on this topic tends to decline, especially in the last 4 years. The most frequently used method is the qualitative research method because researchers consider it very suitable for researching thinking skills. Of the 8 regions that conduct algebraic reasoning research, Indonesia is the country that does it the most. This is due to the low algebraic reasoning of students. Research opportunities on this topic are still wide open by using this research as a reference.

Abstract

In this paper, a green inventory model has been developed to explain the relationship between a single manufacturer and many retailers in a multiplayer supply chain system. It is assumed that there exist some imperfect items in a quantity lot. In green inventory, one of the important issues is carbon emission with its cost to inventory management. Some troubles in the transportation process yield imperfect quality items. This trouble is the potential to increase the amount of carbon emission and some imperfect quality items. It also affects the cost of the inventory. Therefore, these two aspects will be analyzed under the shortage backorder policy. Due to the complexity of the model, the classical optimization methods cannot be used to determine the optimum values exactly. Therefore, formulation optimization is predominantly conducted using a numerical approach for finding partial derivatives and Newton-Raphson's method for finding the optimal solution. These methods are assisted by the Python programming language, operated within the Google Colab environment and Spyder (Python 3.8) using Anaconda environment.
