Abstract

The lack of local potential-based teaching resources makes it challenging for students to grasp the Bryophyta subject, necessitating the development of e-booklet materials. The purpose of this study is to describe the types of moss on the banks of the Mawangi Village river and describe the approriateness, feasibility, readability, and effectiveness of the developed e-booklet. The e-booklet was developed adopting the 4D model technique (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), however, is was only developed to the limited distribution stage in this study. Two Biology Education FKIP ULM lecturers and a Biology teacher from SMAN 1 Kandangan participated in the suitability and feasibility tests. Nine students participated in the readability test, while seventeen students participated in the effectiveness test. According to the study’s results, 8 types of Bryophyta were found on the banks of the Mawangi Village River, Hulu Sungai Selatan Regency, including Ectropothecium sp., Fissidens sp., Calymperes sp., Octoblepharum sp., Thuidium sp., Bryum sp., Riccia sp., and Anthoceros sp. The e-booklet had an average approriateness test score of 4.19 (approriate), a feasibility test score of 4.36 (very feasible), a readibility test score of 4.53 (very good), and effectiveness test N-gain score of 0.72 (high). As a result, the e-booklet Types of Bryophyta on the Riverbanks of Mawangi Village is considered suitable for use as additional biology teaching material for high school students in grade X. Kata Kunci:Bahan ajar, bryophyta, e-booklet, pengembangan model 4D, tepian sungai Desa Mawangi

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are essential competencies in 21st-century learning, especially in Biology. However, Indonesian students still demonstrate low abilities in solving scientific problems due to passive, teacher-centered learning approaches. This study aims to examine the effect of the Levels of Inquiry learning model integrated with Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) on students’ problem-solving skills at SMA Negeri 1 Mempawah Hilir and to determine which level of Levels of Inquiry has the most significant impact. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a 3-factor pretest-posttest design, involving three levels: Discovery Learning, Interactive Demonstration, and Inquiry Lesson. A total of 108 students were selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was an essay test on problem-solving skills, and the data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, one-way ANOVA, and Post Hoc Scheffe tests. The results showed improvement across all groups, with the highest N-Gain in the Inquiry Lesson group (0.83), followed by Interactive Demonstration (0.76), and Discovery Learning (0.67). ANOVA indicated significant differences among the groups (p = 0.001). The Post Hoc Scheffe test revealed significant differences between Discovery Learning and Interactive Demonstration (p = 0.036) and between Discovery Learning and Inquiry Lesson (p < 0.001), but no significant difference between Interactive Demonstration and Inquiry Lesson (p = 0.472). These findings suggest that the Inquiry Lesson integrated with SSI is more effective in enhancing students' problem-solving skills.

Abstract

This  article  discusses  the  “Kede”  traditional  ceremony  as  a  form  of  local  wisdom-based  conservation  that  is  still  preserved  by  the  Detupera  indigenous  community,  Ende  Regency.  Through  an  ethnobiological  approach,  this  research  examines  the  symbolism,  ritual  structure,  and  ecological  values  contained  in  the  traditional  practice.  The  “Kede”  ceremony  reflects  the  spiritual  relationship  between  humans,  ancestors  and  nature,  and  contains  customary  rules  that  support  the  sustainable  preservation  of  natural  resources.  The  results  show  that  the  use  of  local  plants  such  as  leke,  denu,  kela  and  lelu  has  symbolic  meanings  that  strengthen  environmental  conservation  and  biodiversity  preservation.  This  ritual  also  functions  as  an  intergenerational  ecological  education  system  within  the  indigenous  community.  Therefore,  the  “Kede”  ceremony  can  be  a  contextual  conservation  model  that  integrates  cultural  values,  spirituality,  and  ecological  ethics  in  maintaining  the  balance  of  nature.Kata  Kunci:  Konservasi,  Upacara  Adat,  Etnobiologi,  Kearifan  Lokal,  Ritual
