Abstract

The purpose of this study is to use Halliday’s Systemic Functional Linguistics viewpoint to uncover the interpersonal meanings that are realized in five selected news articles from The Jakarta Post and TEMPO.CO. This study employed a qualitative method. The data source is two articles from The Jakarta Post and three articles from TEMPO.CO, all under the categories of the 2024 presidential election debate. The data were collected through textual analysis and close reading techniques. The results of this research are as follows: (1) The declarative mood is frequently used across all five articles with 97% for TJP and 99% for TC. The sentences are mostly realized by temporal deicticity, while modality appears in small percentages. (2) Both TJP and TC potray Anies Baswedan positively but with different emphases. TJP highlights Baswedan’s personal attributes and political background. TC emphasizes Baswedan’s political expertise and policy proposals. This distinction in focus reflects the different strategies employed by TJP and TC to shape public perception during the election period. TJP and TC employ similar tenor patterns where they position themselves as equals to their readers and conveying a positive tone in their interactions.

Abstract

This study aims to assess customer loyalty toward Abian Tubuh tofu, one of Mataram City's flagship products. Using a descriptive research approach, the study seeks to provide insights into customer loyalty, a key aspect of consumer behavior theory. A sample survey method was employed, selecting several tofu markets in Mataram City as research locations. The population includes all customers who purchase tofu at these markets, with purposive sampling used to select respondents based on the research objectives. Given the unknown total population, a sample of 100 respondents was determined. The analysis utilized the Net Promoter Score (NPS) model to measure and understand customer loyalty levels. This study builds upon previous research focusing on the same product, Abian Tubuh tofu, in Mataram. Customer loyalty, a critical aspect of consumer behavior, needs periodic evaluation to ensure continued purchases and customer retention. Findings indicate that customers are highly loyal to Abian Tubuh tofu, based on various product attributes such as taste, price, aroma, texture, and nutritional content. The strong perception of product quality leads customers to recommend it to friends and colleagues. Marketers should maintain and enhance this level of loyalty to ensure business sustainability in the future.

Abstract

This study evaluates the policy of eliminating zig-zag and figure 8 tests in two-wheeled vehicle practice for Class C Driving License in Indonesia, which is based on the Evidence-Based Policy approach and Theory U. This policy aims to improve the relevance and effectiveness of the test in measuring driving skills on the highway. Empirical data shows that the zig-zag and figure 8 tests are not relevant to real driving situations and often cause failure of test takers who actually have adequate skills. By replacing them with more realistic tests such as evasion simulations and sudden braking, this policy has succeeded in increasing the pass rate of test takers and reducing psychological stress. The application of Theory U in the policy-making process also allows for active participation from the community, academics, and safety experts, so that this policy is more responsive and adaptive to field needs. This study concludes that an evidence-based and collaborative approach can produce policies that are more relevant, fair, and effective in improving road safety.

Abstract

The Compilation of Islamic Law (Kompilasi Hukum Islam/KHI), enacted through Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 1991, serves as a crucial legal foundation for inheritance issues among Muslims in Indonesia. KHI was developed to provide legal certainty and justice in the distribution of inheritance and to unify previously pluralistic inheritance regulations. This article aims to analyze the implementation of inheritance law based on KHI and highlight the challenges faced in its application, particularly from the perspective of justice and legal certainty. This study employs a normative juridical approach and comparative analysis to compare KHI with customary law across various regions. The findings indicate that while KHI has succeeded as a guideline in inheritance law, there are significant challenges in harmonizing it with customary laws and in raising public legal awareness. Religious courts also face dilemmas in enforcing KHI amid differing local traditions. Therefore, further efforts are needed to enhance public understanding and harmonize KHI with customary laws.

Abstract

This research was purposed to find out the meaning of cost in Sadeka Ponan Tradition. The research was conducted in Poto Village, Moyo Hilir Sub-district, Sumbawa Regency using a qualitative method of ethnographic approach with an interpretive paradigm. Data were collected by interviewing sources or informants and processed using Spradley's ethnographic approach. The Sadeka Ponan tradition is a tradition carried out annually by the people of Poto Village after the planting season (rice) as a form of gratitude and hope that the plants can be fertile and the results are abundant. There are two concepts of the meaning of costs in this tradition, namely the concept of matching non-profit organizations and the concept of matching business. In the concept of matching non-profit, the meaning of costs in this tradition is as a form of sadeka or charity, batompok ke ina kemina or gathering with relatives, conflict resolution, bearer of blessings, reseki or sustenance. While in the concept of business matching, this tradition is expected to be able to become a tourism object that becomes a forum for income for Poto Village residents. This research is expected to be able to provide renewal in interpreting costs in a culture but still with an in-depth view of accounting principles.

Abstract

The continuity of traditional practices remains preserved today, especially in North Lombok Regency, NTB. One such tradition is "memuja," held annually by the indigenous community. This tradition aims to maintain water springs and preserve the environment, particularly in response to climate change impacts. Concerns over seasonal anomalies motivate the community to sustain this practice as an adaptive strategy. Understanding communication network patterns in this tradition is crucial, as similar government programs often lack sustainability, unlike memuja, which is voluntarily maintained. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through FGDs and in-depth interviews. The findings indicate: (1) The communication network pattern in memuja is depicted through a sociogram, identifying roles such as opinion leaders, bridges, and isolated individuals, but no liaison officers or cosmopolites were found; (2) Efforts to enhance community understanding of climate change as an adaptive strategy through memuja include climate literacy, attitudes, self-efficacy, and environmental behaviors. This tradition represents a vital adaptation strategy in addressing climate change challenges.

Abstract

The enforcement of criminal law against environmental violations in Indonesia faces significant challenges, particularly in the effectiveness of the evidence-gathering system. The conventional system, which places the burden of proof entirely on prosecutors, often falls short in addressing complex environmental cases, especially those involving large corporations. Cases like water pollution and illegal logging require complex scientific evidence, such as laboratory analyses and satellite imagery, which are difficult to obtain. This article explores reverse proof systems, where defendants must prove their innocence, although this approach raises concerns about presumption of innocence principles. A risk-based approach is also discussed, prioritizing cases with significant environmental impacts. Technologies like automated sensors and real-time data analysis can enhance evidence collection, but their implementation is limited by infrastructure, budget constraints, and technical skills. The article recommends improving law enforcement capacity, stricter regulations, and leveraging technology to strengthen environmental law enforcemen.

Abstract

This research aims to redesign the accounting model for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that is suitable for banking financing. The population in this research is MSMEs in Mataram City which have the potential to be financed by banking according to the 2023 Bank Indonesia MSMEs profile database. The sample was determined using a judgment sampling method so that MSMEs with the individual business criteria "Nasi Uduq" were selected as the research location. The main subjects in this research are MSMEs business owners. Data collection methods were carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out using descriptive analysis.  The research results show that accounting remodeling is very important in increasing the readiness and ability of MSMEs to obtain financing from banks. The application of the accounting model carried out by MSMEs "Nasi Uduq" in the recording aspect is still at level 1 stage, namely recording transactions which are still done manually, not yet separating recording based on type of transaction, and not yet separating recording between business transactions and personal transactions. In the transaction classification aspect, ledger posting has not been carried out, in the transaction summarization aspect, the trial balance has not been prepared or adjusting journal entries have been carried out and in the financial reporting aspect it has not been carried out comprehensively and does not reflect the actual conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Organizational Commitment on Timeliness of Financial Reporting with the Regional Financial Accounting System as Moderation. This research is a correlational quantitative study with a sample size of 90 respondents at the Regional Apparatus Organization of the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Government. The data analysis method uses moderated regression analysis (MRA). The results stated that organizational commitment affects the timeliness of financial reporting significantly positively. However, the regional financial accounting system does not interact with organizational commitment to affect the timeliness of financial reporting. This is an input for stakeholders in terms of financial reporting both at the provincial and central levels.
