Abstract

The existence of market anomaly patterns in the stock market led to retun the stock is no longer random. This is contrary to the efficient market hypothesis. In the case of mutual fund, a market anomaly attention is january effect where the high returns in January. This market anomaly pattern is one indication of window dressing. In mutual funds, window dressing conducted by fund managers by improving the performance of the portfolio prior to presentation to shareholders. One of the main reasons of window dressing practice on mutual funds are the targets to be achieved each year end. If the target is not reached, there is an attempt to change such that the target is achieved because it affects the increase in managed funds. This study aims to prove whether there is window dressing practise in equity mutual funds in Indonesia. This study was conducted using 22 equity mutual funds in Indonesia from 2008 to 2012. The results of this study indicate that there is a practice of window dressing in the event the period of 20 days compared to 30 days.

Abstract

Madura Island has long been known as a salt island. Alt hough there are many tourist destinat ions in Madura, no one hasutilized and developed salt as an ecotourism potent ial. Throughsalt ecotourism, it is expected to be a solution to some of theproblems associated with salt, especially to improve the welfareof salt farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine theconcept of salt ecotourism development through the triple helixapproach on Madura Island. This type of research is induct iveanalysis by collect ing, compiling and describing various actualdata, documents and informat ion. The data that has beenobtained is then analyzed by descriptive analysis method. Theresults showed that the potential for salt cult ivation in fourdistricts in Madura namely Bangkalan, Sampang, Pamekasanand Sumenep can be used as an opportunit y to develop attractivetourism through the concept of salt ecotourism. This is becauseMadura's land could meet five basic principles of ecotourismdevelopment in Indonesia, namely the principles ofconservation, educat ion, tourism, economy, and participat ion oflocal communit ies. Salt ecotourism requires collaboration fromacademics, businesses represented by groups of salt farmers, andthe government. These three actors, called triple helix, havedifferent roles in order to develop salt ecotourism starting fromplanning, utilizat ion and control.

Abstract

Along with technological developments, the people of today's digital world. Where gadgets and the Internet is a basic requirement of the community that we are familiar with the term generation Z. Generation Z is the generation of all-round internet connection wherever and whenever. They spend more time on various social, economic, political, and lifestyle activities. The existence of social media Instagram into the arena of existence and looking for various ways in determining shopping options. This research uses qualitative method with phenomenology approach. The results of this study found Generation Z Instagram users will easily see a product that is promoted through Instagram in the form of photos or video and remember the product. anytime viewed on the Instagram homepage. The more often seen it will often they remember the product until finally reaching the brand awareness.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article discusses about the effectiveness of mediation as conflict completion effort of the termination of employment.This article aims to know the effectiveness of mediation as conflict completion effort of the termination at CV. Anugrah Jaya Bangkalan. This type of research uses analytical descriptive, in order to describe and analyze disputes that occur at CV. Anugrah Jaya Indicators of the dispute are one of the workers named Ika Oktaviani who has embezzled the company's money. From the results of the study can be concluded, mediation as an effort to resolve disputes on termination of employment at CV. Anugrah Jaya works effectively. Mediation is carried out at the Department Of Industry and Labor Bangkalan, where the role of the mediator is very much needed until finally there is a decision that Ika Oktaviani was laid off by CV. Anugrah Jaya.

Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze organizational commitment to empowerment and contribution to improving the performance members Koperasi Setia Bhakti Wanita in Surabaya. This study uses the free variables i.e. organizational commitment and empowerment, as well as a bound variable performance.This study included in this type of research surveys that are used for the purpose of explanation or confirmatory, or also called research for testing hypotheses to explain the influences between variables or causal relationships between variables through hypothesis testing. A sample of these studies amounted to 150 respondents comprised the members of the Koperasi Setia Bhakti Wanita in Surabaya. Sampling techniques in the study was done by accidental sampling method. The data obtained through the distribution and collection of returned questionnaires and then analyzed using SPSS.A model of the relationships between the variables examined generating organizational commitment and empowerment that have important relationship against the performance members Koperasi Setia Bhakti Wanita in Surabaya. The results of this study also has important meanings especially for members Koperasi Setia Bhakti Wanita to the empowerment as a member of the cooperative organization and commitment Setia Bhakti Wanita to improve the members of Koperasi Setia Bhakti Wanita in Surabaya.

Abstract

   National Program for Urban Community Empowerment (PNPM MP) is a development model that is being executed ekononomi people to date in various villages throughout Indonesia. PNPM MP who is expected to become the motor of change in the standard of living of the poor into a society that is more powerful and independent, are still not well understood by the offender PNPM MP. To address the lack of understanding of PNPM MP actors, the strengthening of the training given to LKM and KSM to bring in speakers from both government and academia. Strengthening the training program has been oriented towards a model that is considered more effective training can improve the understanding of the perpetrators of PNPM MP in the village called effective communication models. The problems discussed this research are: 1) How effective communication models made in strengthening the training activities of LKM and KSM in the district Kudu ?, 2) What model of effective communication is done in the reinforcement training can improve the understanding of LKM and KSM in PNPM MP in the district Kudu ?. The purpose of this study is to provide a model of discourse need for effective communication to improve understanding of the perpetrators of PNPM MP in village on the nature of PNPM PM. The method used in this research is a field survey with descriptive qualitative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the model of communications made in strengthening training LKM and KSM have been effective both from the speakers, media, methods, materials and participants as the target audience. Recommendations are given this study is to review the existing training schedule tailored to how materials should be received by LKM and KSM considering training problems is the lack of time allocated

Abstract

ABSTRACTEven though the concept of halal is not a major concern among both Muslim and non-Muslim consumers living in an Islamic country, they are concern about the underlying advantages that come with halal products. Nowadays, Muslim consumers are faced with a broad selection of cosmetic products and services that offer multiple choices with different brands either locally or internationally. Halal cosmetic products are not only suitable for Muslim consumers, but also to non Muslims because of the nature of the products in terms of its ingredients and the methods used to produce these products. Thus this conceptual paper will explore the underlying determinants that are likely to influence non-Muslim and Muslim consumers’ perceptions and attitudes towards halal cosmetic products in Islamic country. Recommendations for future research are also discussed.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze differences performance of Main Board Index (MBX) and Development Board Index (DBX) using a portfolio performance measurement model Risk Adjusted Performance in 2010-2014. Issuers listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange was divided into two boards, namely MBX and DBX, where the placement of issuers and emiten who approved the recording based on the placement requirements on each board recording. The test results using Mann-Whitney test showed the difference in stock index performance between MBX andDBX using 3 methods of performance measurement. Main board has a higher risk on average than Development Board, and resulting a higher return. This is contrary to the theory of market anomalies size effect which says that small sized companies deliver greater return compared with return provided by the big cap. Such as the investments principle of high risk high return, if investors want a high return then will be faced with a high risk anyway. Thus, to get the maximum return, it is better to invest in the shares of Main Board.

Abstract

Globally, the role of travel agents in increasingly gaining importance in today’s travel and tourism industry. A travel industry without travel agents is quite unthinkable as it would result in utter chaos and disorder in the industry. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the 4Ps, namely price, promotion, place and product, and customer decision-making over travel agents in Bangkalan. Travel agents are seriously considered for these 4Ps activities to ensure that they allocate their resources effectively and efficiently. A total of 75 respondents were selected from customers of two travel agents in Bangkalan. The data collected was analyzed using three statistical methods, that is, mean analysis, Pearson correlation and regression analysis. The results revealed that only product and price were associated with customer decision-making over travel agents. Based on the findings, strategic recommendations are proposed for the travel industry in Bangkalan.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial intention among students college still low, this is a challenge for all people including academics. Entrepreneurial education is expected to give positive stimulus to encourage entepreneurial intention among students. The aim of this study is to examine whether Adversity Quotient (AQ), attitude toward entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial education affects entrepreneurial intention. Sample for this research is to students from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia (STIESIA) Surabaya. The linier regression analysis was used to examine the hypothesis and it was in condition supported. The result shows that attitude toward entrepreneurship influences entrepreneurial intention positively (β:0.342, p kurang dari 0.05), while entrepreneurial education has no significant effect on the entrepreneurial intention. One of the dimensions of Adversity Quotient, controls gave significant effect on entrepreneurial intention (β: 0476, p kurang dari 0.05). This indication shows that attitude toward entrepreneurship is appropriate indicators in order to encourage entepreneurial intention among students, positive attitude in entrepreneurship will increasing entrepreneurial behavior.
