Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of experimental teaching methods on the skills of science process students in class VIII MTs in OKI District. This research uses non-equivalent control group design design with quasi-experiment method. The sample of research is 68 students. Based on the result of research, students' science process skill in the implementation of learning with experimental method is better than learning by demonstration method in control class. Based on the calculation of t test, obtained result 3,218. It shows H0 rejected and Ha accepted. Based on the gain test, the improvement of students' science process skill in the experimental class is 0,53 (mean) while the control class is 0,23 (low). Based on the results of this study can be concluded that the learning by experimental methods affect the improvement of students' science process skills on the plant movement system.Keywords: learning method, plant movement system, scientific process skill

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of generative learning model on theability of student analysis on matter of human nervous system at XI IPA class at Musi Rawas. This research uses quasi experiment method of non-equivalent control groupdesign. The research population is the students of XI IPA class with sampling technique using non probability of purposive sampling. Based on the analysis result, it shows that the mastery in the experimental class is 67,7% higher than the control class that is 55,3%. The improvement of analytical ability can be seen from the value of N-gain with the experimental class has a value of N-gain of 0,53 and the control class is 0,19 with low category. The results of hypothesis testing using t-test obtained by value tarithmetic =3,969 and ttable =1,670 confidence level of 95%, ( = 0,05). The data shows that t arithmetic >t table , then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the generative learning model has an effect on the students' analysis ability at XI IPA class.Keywords: analytical skills, nervous system,generative learning

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model type Group Investigation (GI) against students critical thinking skills on virus subject in X class. Research Method is quasi experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design study . Population on research this composed from six class amount 208 students, Sampling on this research used random technique. The sample of research is 66 students. Technique of data collecting with question tests are pretest and posttest . Based on data use results t test on level real 5% for pretest results t arithmetic = 5,556 and t table = 1.998 , then t arithmetic > ttable . Meanwhile, the results of data using t test at the real level of 5% for posttest results t arithmetic = 3,632 and t table = 1.998, then t arithmetic > ttable . This can be seen from the t-test calculation of students critical thinking skills show as sig tarithmetic 0.000 <0,05, then Ha accepted and H 0 rejected . Results analysis calculation per indicator thinking skills students on pretest control class achieved 13.2% very low category while calculations per indicator of critical thinking skills students on pretest experimental class reach 25,3% very low category. The result of calculation analysis per indicator of students critical thinking skill in posttest of control class reach 62,3% low category, while calculation of student critical thinking skill indicator on experimental class posttest reach 82,6% very high category, that is students critical thinking skills more high after application of learning model cooperative type group investigation (GI) . Then could withdrawn conclusion that there the influence of cooperative learning model of Group Investigation (GI) type of students critical thinking on the Virus material of X class.Keywords : learning model, GI, critical thinking, virus

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning model of Active Learning type of Index Card Match on student's interest in science class VII MTs. This research is a kind of quantitative research. Sampling in this research is done by purposive technique sampling which considering certain criteria based on the value of both classes taught by the same teacher. The sample of research taken by class VII.D and VII.E. This study was conducted during two meetings with the assessment instrument in the form of a questionnaire (posttest). The questionnaire was a questionnaire of students' interest in learning by shaving four indicators of student interest in learning: student interest, student attention, student involvement and feelings of pleasure. The results of this study indicate that students' interest in achievement of student interest indicators obtained 90.27%. In the indicator of student attention for the experimental class obtained 90.10%. Indicator of student involvement in the experimental class was 89.86%. The last indicator of the feeling of pleasure in the experimental class is 91.55%. The result of the research also shows that based on tcount 4,913> ttabel 1,993 and significance value <0.05, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. The average score of students' interest in the control class is 63,205 and the experimental class is 68,805. In the four indicators of interest in learning are interest, attention, involvement, and feelings of pleasure, the percentage of the experimental class is higher than the control class. Therefore it is expected that the active learning model of index card match type can be used as a learning model because with this model the students will be more active in their activities so that their learning interest can grow and be maintained.Keywords: active learning, index card match, learning model

Abstract

Problem based learning model is a learning that is done by confronting students on real problems in everyday life so that students can develop their own knowledge in solving problems and seeking various solutions, which encourages students to think creatively. This study aims to determine the implementation of learning by using problem-based model to determine the effect of model problem based learning on students' creative thinking ability on cell material in the classroom. The design of this research is using Pretest-Posttest Only Control Design design with Quasi-Experimental design method. The sample of the study is 84 students. Based on the results of the analysis, students' creative thinking ability shows that the implementation of learning by using problem-based learning model is better than the control class. The result of this research can be concluded that the problem based learning model influences the students' creative thinking ability. For students, in following the learning with Problem Based Learning model is expected to improve students' creative thinking ability by directly involved in learning in the classroom. For teachers, it is expected to use Problem Based Learning model in learning activities in order to create an active and creative learning process. For schools, it is expected to provide advice and motivate teachers to use appropriate and varied learning models in the learning process. For further research, it is expected to use Problem Based Learning model in other materials, and also can use other learning model. Keywords : cell, creative thinking, learning, PBL

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of song media against student learning motivation. This research was conducted at Palembang Islamic Junior High School on June 2017. The research method used quasi experimental design of Non - equivalent control group design. The population in this research is the students of class VII consisting of 2 classes with the number of each class on average 30 students, with class VII B as the experimental class and VII A as the control class, sampling is done by saturated sampling technique . Learning media used media song. Data collection is using questionnaire of students learning motivation. The results of the analysis of the number of questionnaires obtained significance value of 0.000 this means the value of significance <0,05 or 0,000 <0,05. This indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha accepted so the hypothesis states that the song media has an effect on learning motivation . Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the relation of learning style (visual, auditorial, kinestechtic) with students’ learning interest at VIII class on photosynthesis material in junior high school. Sampling technique in this research used probability proportional to size (PPS). Data collection used questionnaire. The results showed that there is a positive and significant correlation between learning styles with student learning interest in science subjects class VIII with a value of 0.789 are categorized as high correlation and significant value of 10.352. The result of correlation between the dimension of each learning style and the learning interest was obtained by visual learning style - learning interest with correlation value 0.380, auditorial learning style- interest with correlation value 0.673, kinesthetic learning style - interest with correlation value 0.396. This shows the style of auditorial learning has a higher correlation to student learning interest. The results of the calculation of determination coefficient obtained value 59.1% and the remaining 40.9% influenced by other outside factors and research variables. These results also show that learning can affect the level of student interest in learning during the classroom learning process. Therefore, by understanding the learning process in each student , the teacher can make the students' learning interest increase. Keywords: learning style, learning interest, photosynthesis, science

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Learning Cycle 5E learning model on the mastery of students' concepts on VII class in environmental contents. Variable in this research is Learning Cycle 5E learning model as independent variable and mastery of concept as dependent variable. The sample of this research is VII class 3 as experiment class and VII.4 class as control class. This study is a quasi experiment with Non-equivalent Control Group Design research design, while data collection techniques used are interview, written test (pretest-postest) and documentation. The written test (pretest-postest) is used to see students' mastery skills after applied Learning Cycle 5E learning model. Analysis of test data using t-test with a significant level of 5%. Based on hypothesis test of control class data and experimental class hence obtained sig value 0,000<0,05, significantly different. The overall experimental class posttest score can be said to be excellent, with an average gain of 84.00, while the mean value of the control class is 73.33. Based on this it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the implementation of Learning Cycle 5E learning model on the mastery of students' concepts on environmental VII class. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of audio visual use on students' mastery concepts. The type of research is quasi experiment . The design of this research is Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study are students of class VIII SMP. The sample of this research VIII.A class as experimental class and VIII.B class as control class chosen by purposive sampling. In the learning process, the experimental class is taught by using Audio visual media in the form of video and control class is taught with power point media (PPT). Data retrieval uses conception master test with multiple choice form which has been tested for its validity and reliability. Quantitative data were obtained from the average pretest, posttest, and N-gain values analyzed using t-test. Result of research of hypothesis test of Posttest data shows that value of Sig = 0,037 <0,05. While the value of t-arithmetic = 2, 152> t-table = 1.684. The average value of N-gain Pretest-Posttest experimental class is 0.67 classified, while the average value of N-gain Pretest-Posttest control class is 0.57 including medium category. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the application of audio visual media in the form of video significantly influence the mastery of students' concepts on the material of human digestive system in VIII class. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying Guided Note Taking to the interest of learning on theecosystem material at VII Class. This research design used posttest-only control design with true experimentalmethod. The sample of this research was 35 students. Based on the result, the student interest analysis showedthat the implementation of learning in the experimental class by applying Guided Note Taking is better than thelearning in the control class that was not applying the Guided Note Taking. This can be seen from thecalculation of t-test with a significant level of 5% with tarithmetic˃ ttable or 11,38 ˃ 1,670; Ha is accepted and H0 isrejected. The result of the average score analysis of the students' learning interest in the experimental class is73,17 while the students' interest in the control class is 58.6, which means that the students' learning interest ishigher than the students' interest in the control class. Thus, it can be deduced that the Learning Strategy typeGuided Note Taking influences the students' learning interest on Ecosystem Material in VII Class.
