Abstract

 ABSTRACT Key words: vitamin C, cottonwoods honey, longan honey, HPLC Honey is a natural product that containing several vitamins, including vitamin C, which has an important role to maintain health, among others helps healing wound, increase body resistance fight infection and as antioxidant. This research aimed to determine the levels of vitamin C in the cottonwoods honey and longan honey from beekeepers and honey trade in the city of Semarang using HPLC.Samples consisted of three samples of honey and three cottonwoods honey and longan honey from beekeepers different (Ambarawa, Ngaliyan, Gringsing) and honey trade in the city of Semarang. HPLC (waters ec 2695) operational conditions is equipped stationary phase C18 column (C18 5um sunfire; 4.6 X150 mm), and the mobile phase is a mixture of phosphate buffer pH 3.6 and acetonitrile with the ratio 70: 30, v / v, flow rate of 0.5 ml / min. Detection use UV detector (UV / vis water in 2489) at 260 nm wavelength.Research results show ed that the average levels of vitamin C in the cottonwoods honey from beekeepers and honey cottonwoods trade in the city of Semarang are 0,034% and 0,016%, while for longan honey respectively 0,027% and 0,032%. The average level of the twelve samples of honey contain vitamin C, but there are two samples that does not contain vitamin C. There was no significant difference between the levels of vitamin C and cottonwoods honey and longan honey from beekeepers and honey trade in the City of Semarang.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Key words: cottonwoods honey, longan honey, sucrose, KCKT   Honey is a natural liquid that generally has a sweet taste and produced by the bees. Along with the increase in consumption of honey, honey adulteration grew a way to get the benefits. Sucrose sugar often added because its price is relative cheap. The content of sucrose become a measurement of the authenticity of honey. The spurious honey harm consumers because of different composition so that its benefits are also different.The purpose of this research is to determine the sucrose content and the quantitation of sucrose in longan honey and honey cottonwoods from beekeepers and honey trade in the City of Semarang using HPLC.Honey samples were taken randomized with three sample of cottonwoods and three longan honey from beekeepers area in Ngaliyan, Gringsing dan Ambarawa and honey trade in the City of Semarang. The determination of sucrose using HPLC system (Waters ec 2695) equipped with C18 column (C18 5um Sunfire; 4.6 x150mm) and detector UV (UV/Visible Waters 2489) at wavelength 190 nm. Mobile phase consisted of a mixture of acetonitrile and aquabides (75:25, v/v) with a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min.Research results showed that the average content of sucrose in honey samples cottonwoods and longan honey from beekeepers respectively 4,03% dan 2,98%, while the average level for the sample of cottonwoods and longan honey trade in the City of Semarang respectively 2,11% and 2,59%. The average level of sucrose from twelve samples meet requirements but the there are two samples that does not comply requirement of honey based on SNI-2004. There was no significant difference between the levels of sucrose honey cottonwoods and honey longan from beekeepers and honey trade in the City of Semarang.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Most of Grobogan people use well water facilities to fulfill water requirement every day. This study aim to evaluate well water quality that used as water drinking resourses in Gubug Grobogan and to determine well water meet the requirement as Regulation of Health Minister No. 416/Menkes/Per/IX/1990. This study is non-experimental research with descriptive analysis. Parameter of water quality that investigated comprised physical parameter, chemical parameter and microbiological parameter. Sample have been taken by simple random sampling from three types of well in Gubug, that is well near the garbage disposal, well near the Gubug village river which all along the river there are tofu factory "Bintang Timur" and syrup factory "Kartika", and well which were far from garbage disposal and gubug village river. Samples were determined by atomic absorption spectrofotometry for cadmium parameter dan spectrofotometry for chromium parameter, and double tube multiplied method for microbiologycal parameter. Physical parameter were analysed by colorimetry, termometry, turbidimetry and TDS meter. The results showed that well water quality in Gubug Grobogan based on physical parameter have appropiated with standard but well near the Gubug village river have not appropiated with colour standard. Based on chemical parameter, the three type of well have appropiated with standard for cadmium and chromium concentration. While based on mikrobiologycal parameter Coliform total have not appropiated with standard.Key words : quality study, well water, water drinking

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Keywords : Cloves’ buds and leaves (Syzygium aromaticum (L) Merr. & Perry.) ethanol extracts, stimulant, locomotoric activity, hole-board, open field, terpenoid, alkaloids  One of the clove properties is as a stimulant. The purposes of this experimental study were to investigate stimulant effect of clove’s buds and leaves ethanol extracts through locomotoric activity studies on male Swiss strain mice and to identify its active compounds. The experiment was performed with pretest and posttest control group design. Thirty two mice ware divided into eight treatment groups. Locomotoric activity study was performed with hole-board and open-field method. Mice in group I (negative control) provide orally CMC-Na 1% 25 mL/kg BW. Mice in group II (caffeine group) provided orally caffeine 25 mg/kg BW. Six other treatment groups provide clove’s buds and leaves ethanol extracts (100, 200, and 400) mg/kg BW respectively. Frequency of mice head-deeping into holes in the floor and duration of movement in 5 minutes were accessed before and after treatment with extract. Data analyzed using paired-sample T test (p: 0.95). The result showed clove’s buds and leaves ethanol extracts to have stimulant properties on male Swiss strain mice through enhancing locomotoric activity in hole-board method (p<0.05). Clove’s buds and leaves ethanol extracts (100, 200 and 400) mg/Kg BW treatment on male Swiss strain mice can significantly increase mice head-deeping frequency into holes in the floor and exploratory behavior (p<0.05). There was no significant different on mice duration movement (p>0.05). Terpenoid and alkaloid active compounds in clove’s buds and leaves ethanol extracts though to play an important role in enhancing male Swiss strain mice locomotoric activities.

Abstract

ABSTRACTImmunostimulatory agent has an important role in the treatment of infectious disease caused bypathogen. Roselle calyx (Hibiscus sabdariffa  immune system. The aims of this research was to know immunostimulatory activity of ethyl acetate fraction ofethanolic extract of roselle calyx on lymphocyte cell proliferation swiss strain mice and to identified thechemical compounds of the fraction.Roselle calyx was ext racted by maceration method using ethanol 96% as a solvent. The ethanolicextract was partitioned gradually by n-hexan and ethyl acetate. Series of ethyl acetate fraction were made toconcentration 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 400 μg/mL and positive control PHA 10 μg/mL for tested to lymphocyte cellculture. Immunostimulatory act ivity test was done according to MTTAssay  Key words : roselle calyx, ethyl acetate fraction, MTTAssay , immunostimulatorymethod. Lymphocyte proliferat ion activity was analyzed statistically to the value of Optical Density (OD) result of the Enzyme LinkedImmunosorbent Assay (ELISA) reader using Kruskal Wallis Test continued by Mann Whitney Test (p&lt;0,05).Identificat ion of the contents phenolic compounds and flavonoids performed by Thin Layer Chromatography(TLC).The result of the research showed that ethyl acetate fraction had lymphocyte cell proliferation activity atthe concentration of 50, 100, 200, and 400 μg/mL. Abstract

 ABSTRACT Keyword : durian seeds amylum, disintegrant, ibuprofen tablets. Amylum is a polysaccharide inside plant that was saved as a food reserves in fruit seed. One of the amylum contents is amylose, essentially insoluble in cold water but can absorb large amount of water and expand, so it can be used as a disintegrant of tablets. The aim of this research is to find out the influence of the used of durian seeds amylum as a disintegrant that be added internally-externally toward the physical and chemical properties of ibuprofen tablets.Ibuprofen tablets were prepared by wet granulation method, with levels of amylum as a disintegrant were 10% which added the intragranular-extragranular with a ratio of FI (100%:0%), FII (75%:25%), FIII (50%:50%), FIV (25%:75%), FV (0%:100%). Dried granules obtained were then tested its physical properties include flow rate, angle of repose, and compressibility. Tablets were tested in terms of physical and chemical tablets properties include weight uniformity, hardness, friability, disintegration time and active substance content of tablets. Data obtained were analyzed with a theoretical approach that is done by comparing the statistical literature and that is one way ANAVA analysis with 95% confidence level, followed by a Tuckey test.The result obtained shows that all formulation complied with the requirement of good physical and chemical properties of tablet. The added of durian seeds amylum as a tablets disintegrant with internally-externally method causes difference the physical properties of disintegration time ibuprofen tablets in significant, while at hardness and friability there is no difference in significant.

Abstract

 ABSTRACT Red betel leaves (Piper crocotum  Key words: red betel leaves, mucolitic, cow’s mucous Ruiz and Pav.) can cure many kinds of diseases, including cough. The aim of this research is to determine mucolitic activity of methanol fraction from ethanol extract of red betel leaves on cow’s intestine mucous in vitro and to identify its active compound group.  Ethanol extract of red betel leaves was made by maceration method using ethanol 70%. Methanol fraction was made from ethanol extract by partitioned gradually using petroleum eter, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The obtained methanol fraction was made serial concentration started from 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%, 0.9% in 80% cow’s mucous. The mucolitic activity was tested using Viscometer Rion, and 0.1% acethylcystein as positive control. Identification the active compound using thin layer chromatography. The viscosity cow’s mucous analyzed statistically. Normality test using Shapiro Wilk, non parametric statistic test using Kruskal Wallis, and then continued using Mann Whitney Test with degree of trust of 95%.The result shows that methanol fraction has mucolitic activity whether at concentration 0.3% is equivalent to 0.1% acethylcystein. Methanol fraction contains saponin, flavonoid, and polyphenol.

Abstract

KATA PENGANTAR Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang memiliki kekayaan herbal terbesar di dunia. Indonesia menyediakan begitu banyak jenis herbal untuk diteliti, dikembangkan dan tentu saja dimanfaatkan sebagai agen kemopreventif. Penelitian-penelitian sebagian besar dilakukan oleh Perguruan Tinggi yang merupakan institusi yang mengemban misi untuk menghasilkan produk berupa penelitian dan penerapannya, sebagai bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Produk penelitian inilah sebagai solusi dari permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat. Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Wahid Hasyim Semarang (Unwahas) sebagai bagian dari Lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi turut serta dalam memberikan solusi-solusi alternatif bagi permasalahan di bidang sains dan teknologi. Agar masyarakat mengetahui hasil-hasil penelitian dan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut, Unwahas perlu mempublikasikannya secara luas. Untuk itu perlu kiranya diterbitkan sebuah buku sebagai salah satu media publikasi seminar. Alhamdulillah, buku Prosiding Seminar Nasional Perkembangan Terbaru Pemanfaatan Herbal Sebagai Agen Preventif Pada Terapi Kanker telah terbit. Prosiding ini berisi kumpulan makalah hasil penelitian dan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dipresentasikan dalam Seminar Nasional tanggal 06 September 2014. Abstract

ABSTRAKJamu untuk pasien anemia dapat menjadi suatu terobosan dalam menjawab masalah anemia di Indonesia. Sebuah penelitian studi klinik telah dilakukan di Klinik Saintifikasi Jamu “Hortus Medicus” Balai Besar Litbang Tanaman Obat dan Obat Tradisional Tawangmangu untuk menilai kenaikan kadar hemoglobin darah pada pasien anemia yang diterapi formula jamu anti anemia. Sebanyak 35 subjek secara sukarela mengikuti penelitian ini mendapatkan terapi formula jamu selama 1 bulan. Formula jamu merupakan infusa yang terdiri dari 5 gram daun bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L.), 10 gram herba tapak liman (Elephantopus scaber L) dan 15 gram rimpang temulawak(Curcuma xanthorrhiza) diminum 3 kali sehari. Hemoglobin diukur pada awal(hari ke-0), hari ke-14, dan hari ke 28. Menggunakan pengukuran hari ke-0 sebagai pembanding, dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% terdapat peningkatan Hemoglobin pada hari-14 dan hari ke-28 secara signifikan.Kata Kunci: Formula jamu, hemoglobin, anemia.
