Abstract

Locus of control refers to an individual’s belief about the extent to which internal and external factors influence students’ processes in completing their thesis. Academic resilience, meanwhile, is the ability of students to endure, recover, and rise when faced with challenges and difficulties during thesis writing. The phenomenon in which students struggle to regulate their emotions and manage stress when encountering obstacles can affect their level of academic resilience. The aim of this study is to examine the dynamics between locus of control and academic resilience in students who are currently working on their thesis. The researcher used a simple random sampling technique to select research subjects and obtained 300 students as subjects of this study. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational approach and simple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the correlation test, a significant positive relationship was found between locus of control and academic resilience in students working on their thesis (r = 0.450; p = 0.001). Simple linear regression analysis also showed that locus of control predicts academic resilience in students (r² = 0.202; t = 8.693; p = 0.001).

Abstract

The role of teachers is crucial in shaping children's character and development, especially at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level. However, working as a early childhood teacher often comes with various challenges that can affect their psychological well-being. This decline in psychological well-being can have an impact on motivation, performance, and the quality of teachers' interactions with their students. This study aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction on the psychological well-being of Early childhood teachers in Surakarta. The research method used is quantitative. The sample consisted of 117 active Early childhood teachers in Pasar Kliwon and Serengan districts of Surakarta City. Data collection was conducted using the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) to measure psychological well-being and the Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) Scale Spector to measure job satisfaction. The analysis results showed that the regression model was statistically significant overall, F(1,115)= 142.01, p= .000, with R²= .553. Job satisfaction significantly predict psychological well-being, β= 0.265, p= .000.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health is a critical issue, as this developmental stage is often marked by vulnerability to psychological problems, yet standardized measurement tools remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Student Mental Health Scale (ISKM-R-2) using the Rasch model. A methodological study design was adopted with a cross-sectional method, including 1,045 adolescents aged 15–19 years. The results suggested that the instrument had a multidimensional structure, with a two-factor model showing a better fit than the unidimensional model. Rasch analysis showed acceptable item fit and high reliability across dimensions. However, the instrument items were relatively difficult for the sample, as shown by the Wright Map analysis. The results of this study supported the importance of a multidimensional method in measuring student mental health and provided evidence for further refinement of the instrument.

Abstract

Selecting and preparing for a career is crucial during a teenager's development stage. However, many students failed to complete career development tasks and illustrated lack of career maturity. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of PLANS (advanced study planning) training in enhancing students' career maturity. This experimental research utilized a randomized pretest-posttest control design. Sixteen 11th-grade high school students with low career maturity scores were randomly divided into two groups. The evaluation of research data was conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Mann-Whitney U Test. The study proved that (1) the intervention did not significantly increase the students' career maturity (p= 0,069); (2) there was no significant difference in career maturity levels between the control group and the experimental (p= 0,50). This indicated that the "PLANS" training had not been proven effective in increasing students' career maturity. However, the research data showed a significant impact on the attitude aspect of career maturity after the (p= 0,043). The implications are discussed further.

Abstract

Family health is extremely important because a family is the smallest community in which each member learns about healthy living. Therefore, a valid and reliable family health measurement tool that is cross-cultural is essential for understanding the state of family health worldwide. This study aims to adapt and test the psychometric properties of the Family Health Scale in the Indonesian context. The sampling technique used in this study was incidental sampling, distributed via social media, and completed by 1,843 participants. The validity test results using Average Variance Extracted (AVE) ranged from 0.289 to 0.628, while the Composite Reliability (CR) values ranged from 0.759 to 0.944. The results of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed that the Indonesian Family Health Scale model fit the data, with χ²(319) = 1119, p .001; CFI = 0.972; TLI = 0.966; RMSEA = 0.0369 [90% CI: 0.0345; 0.0392]; SRMR = 0.0369; AIC = 112.974. The tested model shows that the four original dimensions of the instrument can be maintained, and that modifying the model through item reduction yields stronger statistical measures without altering the essence of the original dimensions. Based on these results, the Indonesian version of the Family Health Scale can be used as a family health measurement tool.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) function as educational institutions designed to equip students with practical skills to enter the workforce directly, making them more prepared to face professional challenges. However, reality shows that there are still many unemployed people who come from SMK graduates, students still doubt their abilities, and do not have a clear future direction, which shows a lack of work readiness. This study aims to examine the relationship between internal locus of control and future orientation with work readiness in SMK students. A quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis was employed, involving 100 students from class XI a public vocational high school in Surakarta through simple random sampling. The research instruments included the Work Readiness Scale, the Internal Locus of Control Scale, and the Future Orientation Scale. The results revealed a significant relationship between internal locus of control and future orientation with career readiness, both simultaneously and partially.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out whether there is a role of Parenting Sense of Competence on father involvement in parenting in Banjarbaru City. The research method used was a quantitative correlational survey with a cross-sectional design, using the Parenting Sense of Competence (PSOC) Scale and the Inventory of Father Involvement. The technique used for sampling was nonprobability sampling, specifically purposive sampling, and data collection was conducted offline. The participants in the field data collection consisted of 213 fathers in Banjarbaru City. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using simple linear regression analysis, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was rejected and the null hypothesis (H0) was accepted, which means that there was no role of Parenting Sense of Competence on father involvement in parenting in Banjarbaru City (p=0.108 0.05). These findings indicated that aspects of Parenting Sense of Competence (PSOC), namely satisfaction and self-efficacy, did not directly predict father involvement in parenting.

Abstract

Exposure to environmental issue–related information may enhance moral awareness, encouraging individuals to act in environmentally responsible ways. However, psychological factors such as eco-anxiety are often required to strengthen the intention to engage in pro-environmental behavior. This study examines whether eco-anxiety contributes to pro-environmental behavior among Generation Z in Lampung through the mediating role of environmental risk perception. Using a purposive sampling technique, data were collected from 305 Generation Z respondents (aged 13–28 years). This study employed a quantitative approach and used SEM-PLS for data analysis, with model fit criteria assessed using SRMR and NFI. The results show that: (1) eco-anxiety has a significant effect on environmental risk perception (p = 0,000; t = 12.718), (2) eco-anxiety has a significant effect on pro-environmental behavior (p = 0,000; t = 5.434), (3) environmental risk perception has a significant effect on pro-environmental behavior (p = 0,000; t = 5.994), and (4) environmental risk perception significantly mediates the relationship between eco-anxiety and pro-environmental behavior (p = 0,000; t = 5.117).
