The courtyard existance that has been recommended in some publication may need to be promoted and hence prioritized on every Rumah sederhana Sehat (RsS) development. In order to support the courtyard promotion initiative, evidence based on research into RsS courtyards’ characteristic that inform the maintenance of optimal indoor thermal comfort, needs to be acquired. This paper examines the issue of the RsS courtyard’s position as one of the factors that is effective in both establishing and maintaining each house’s indoor thermal comfort. The research is conducted with Ansys 14.5 Fluid CFD simulation. The unit model itself is a 9 x 9 m2 unit house. A 3 x 3 m2 courtyard, in 9 different placements, is tested for its effectiveness in maintaining the RsS model’s indoor thermal comfort. Based on the results and the discussion, it can be concluded that there are 5 courtyard positions that provide the RsS houses and their residents with comfortable indoor temperatures. Therefore, these five positional options can be proposed as viable courtyard placements, especially the two positions that show superior performance to the other three acceptable courtyard locations.

Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning villages and the existence of regional autonomy, allows Ambon City to revive the States which are characteristic of the life order of the Ambonese people, with the authority to regulate the lives of its people according to customary law. It can be said that the State, which is in Ambon, is a customary law community unit that has territorial boundaries in one complete cosmic order (physical and metaphysical). The Baileo Traditional House is one of the custom symbols which is quite important in the life order of the indigenous peoples in Ambon City. This paper tries to examine the importance of the Baileo Traditional House as a symbol of the existence of the country. The results obtained from this study show that the role of the Baileo Traditional House is not only as a place associated with traditional processions or events. The Baileo Traditional House has a central role in the order of community life, both basic and related to customary values. The Baileo Traditional House is also the center of the democratic life of indigenous peoples

Traditional buildings in Indonesia consist of various types and expressions, with one common thread, namely that each building has the same belief in the big world and the small world. This belief is represented in the building as the head (top), body (center) and feet (bottom) as a part of the building. In the common spatial relationship, the building's central space as the center point, the balance point between the upper and lower rooms as well as the decotomic part around them. This paper aims to describes local wisdom that is manifested in buildings as a form of expression of community trust in responding to situations and conditions of the natural environment and local climate. The content analysis method was carried out to study the influence of different tropical climate types in the western and eastern parts of Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that the influence of tropical humid climate types in the western and eastern parts of Indonesia on buildings is distinguished by the expression of the shape of the roof, walls and floors. Buildings in the western part of Indonesia are affected by a humid tropical climate with more rainfall and higher humidity than in the eastern part of Indonesia.

Kawasan industri tepung tapioka sebagai kawasan perdagangan daerah Pati, merupakan pusat perkembangan karena daerah tersebut merupakan daerah perdagangan yang ramai. Bangunannya menjadi ciri khas di industri tepung tapioka merupakan gabungan bangunan dengan fungsi hunian dan industri , kemudian dikenal dengan sebutan rumah-industri. Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perubahan pola tata ruang pada lingkungan yang terjadi di kawasan industri tepung tapioka desa Ngemplak kidul, dilatar belakangi akibat dampak kegiatan industri tepung tapioka. Pada awalnya, fungsi rumah-industri masih seimbang antara fungsi hunian dan indsutri, namun perkembangan zaman serta meningkatnya aktivitas kegiatan produksi, menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan pola tata ruang pada lingkungan. Menggunakan teori arsitektur tata ruang, hubungan ruang untuk mengetahui perubahan tersebut, maka dilakukan penelitian pada bangunan dan lingkungan rumah-industri di kawasan kampung industri tapioka di Pati yang merupakan daerah sentra industri. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui: 1) pola tata ruang pada lingkungan yang berubah 2) Mencari faktor-faktor kegiatan industri yang diduga menjadi penyebab terjadinya perubahan pola tata ruang pada lingkungan. Hasil dari dua hal tersebut akan dirumuskan suatu tipe atau karakteristik perubahan yang terjadi pada lingkungan indsutri di kawasan industri tapioka Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis kualititatif. Dari keseluruhan proses penelitian diperolah hasil bahwa, karakteristik dari Pengaruh Kegiatan Produksi Terhadap Pola Tata Ruang Pada Lingkungan Desa Industri Tepung Tapioka Di Pati Perubahan ini banyak terjadi pada lingkungan industri.

The quality of the housing must be properly considered in order to function properly. Currently many housing development failures because lack of attention to quality aspects. The number of failures because lack of knowledge on occupant satisfaction aspects. The residential satisfaction is one of the factor that formers the attitudes toward the place which is the result of interaction between human and the environment where they live and contribute to improvement the quality of life. The aim of this study was to find out the dimension of residential satisfaction in the housing environment, the dimension of attitude toward the place, and the relation between public satisfaction and attitude toward the place. Data collection was carried out based on survey using an online questionnaire. The results showed five dimensions of residential satisfaction in the housing environment, namely environmental comfort, environmental facilities, green open space, environmental management, and infrastructure. There are also two dimensions of attitude toward the place, namely participation and adjustment. The result also showed the tendency of the satisfaction dimension to the environmental comfort related to the attitude of participation and adjustment.

The construction of a low cost apartment owned (Rusunami) aims to further improve the quality of slum neighborhoods in urban areas by paying attention to the preservation of natural resources and creating a complete, harmonious and balanced residential environment. Changes in the form of occupancy from landed housing to slum settlements into a form of low cost apartment owned by the rejuvenation of slums, certainly has an impact on the social and cultural life of its inhabitants. People living in slums have a high sense of belongingness in their daily lives, so that the lifestyle of the village people who are full of togetherness come into the simple flats owned by them. Thus the need to interact socially and socially in accordance with its culture becomes important to be accommodated in simple flats belonging to greetings in the form of communal space. The occurrence of communal space in a low cost apartment owned by Benhil II is inseparable from understanding human interaction with the environment. This study wanted to find out how the communal space was able to push (sociopetal) or inhibit (sociofugal) the occurrence of social interaction in a simple apartment owned by Benhil II. The method used in this study uses a qualitative research approach in grounded theory. Data collection using in-depth interviews and data analysis includes three stages, namely open coding, axial coding and selective coding. The results show that there are several factors that determine the strength and weakness of the occupants' ties with their communal space, namely place parameters, people parameters and activities parameters or a combination of the three parameters.

High-density settlement is frequently associated with a low value of quality of life. While in fact, there are other factors which strongly affecting this quality of life. One of those is liveability. When there is a public space in particular settlement region, the livability of this area will be affected accordingly. Meanwhile, the public space livability itself is constructed by two main factors, which are social factor and physical factor. The aim of this research was to evaluate livability value of public space in a study case settlement region located in RW 08 Kampung Lebak Siliwangi, Bandung. This study has done by carried out observations and interviews. The observation revealed the value of its physical attributes, while the interview revealed the value of its social attributes. This research has successfully met several findings. The case study is showing a relatively good livability value. Compared to the physical factor, social factor is showing a higher impact on increasing the livability value. ‘Facility’ became the most contributing variable among the physical factors, while ‘friendliness’ became the most contributing variable among the social factors.

Rumah tinggal mewadahi aktivitas keluarga dan individu, serta dapat menjadi sumber kebetahan dan kebahagiaan. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk mencari tahu korelasi antara karakteristik tempat dan kegiatan pada kebetahan dan kebahagiaan di rumah tinggal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan survey menggunakan kuesioner online. Data teks penelitian kualitatif dianalisis dengan analisis isi. Data numerik penelitian kuantitatif dianalisis dengan analisis faktor, analisis korelasi, dan analisis regresi. Dari hasil penelitian ini terungkap kecenderungan dimensi Ketenangan dan Suasana Hidup dapat meningkatkan kebetahan dan kebahagiaan. Dimensi Keberadaan Orang lain cenderung mengurangi kebetahan, tetapi meningkatkan kebahagiaan. Dimensi kegiatan Hiburan dapat meningkatkan kebetahan, tetapi tidak mempengaruhi kebahagiaan. Keterlibatan dengan orang lain cenderung dapat meningkatkan kebahagiaan seseorang. Tetapi, belum tentu berpengaruh terhadap kebetahan

Tulisan ini bertujuan memperkenalkan fondasi anti banjir bernama Ark’a Modulam, terutama Tipe Alt.3 Pola Konstruski A – 2.1. Pola konstrusi ini merupakan hasil penelitian tahun pertama dari 3 (tiga) tahun penelitian yang direncanakan (2017 s/d 2019). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya banjir yang semakin melanda rumah-rumah bertiang tinggi yang ada di dataran banjir (floodplain), terutama di Kalimantan, sehingga perlu dikembangkan alternatif baru tentang konstruksi fondasi agar rumah-rumah tersebut tak kebanjiran. Untuk merumuskan alternatif baru tersebut, metode yang digunakan adalah metode perancangan rekayasa. Temuan hasil perancangan rekayasa kemudian di uji coba di suatu dataran banjir di Palangka Raya, dan diketahui : 1). Konstruksi apung mulai terangkat saat air mencapai tinggi 115 cm, 2). Tinggi drum plastik yang tenggelam saat konstruksi apung mengapung adalah : 12 cm dan 3). Konstruski Apung kembali ke posisi semula pada konstruksi landasan saat air kembali surut. Berdasarkan hasil uji coba tersebut, selanjutnya didiskripsikan pembahasan guna mendukung permukiman anti banjir. Diharapkan tulisan dapat bermanfaat dalam mengembangkan rumah anti banjir, terutama dalam permukiman dataran banjir di perkotaan-perkotaan Kalimantan.

Housing and settlement conditions are still things that need to be resolved in Indonesia. Settlements in many cities in Indonesia still have many shortcomings in terms of physical conditions and basic infrastructure. The government has tried a method to overcome this problem through the Kampung Improvement Program (KIP). However, KIP has not been able to solve the problem whose effects are sustainable. There are still many urban poor living in slums urban areas. Given the above understanding, there is an urgency to look into a method to solve the problems. On-site upgrading is a step that can be used as a method for solving Kampung problems in Indonesia. This paper examines what and how the concept of on-site upgrading can provide sustainable effects in Indonesia.
