Abstract

The aim of this research is to measure the effect of price, reputation, service quality, promotion, involuntary switching and recommendation to customer bank switching behavior. Customer switching behavior creates negative impact to market share, decreases profit, loss revenue and investment, and company must spend a lot of money to get new customer. This research based on Theory of Reasoned Action (Fieshbein dan Ajzen, 1980) with two modifications: 1). Critical incident factor that influence bank switching behavior for Asian market is pricing, reputation, promotion, involuntary switching, recommendation and using service quality as evaluation of core service failure, encounter service failure, and inconvenience. Service quality is also an evaluation for attitude toward switching. 2). Subjective norm reject from the model because: a). Attitude is strong predictor for behavior, subjective norm have multikolinearity with attitude. This research is confirmatory study, use survey method with questioners to 323 respondents in Indonesia. Validity for reflective variable use cross loading ≥ 0,7 as discriminant validity and AVE ≥ 0,5 as convergent validity. Reliability use composite reliability ≥ 0,7. Formative variable validity use content and face validity and weight and significantly of weight. The result of this research have Goodness of Fit Model is 0,3949. Pricing and recommendation significant positive influence attitude toward switching with p value of 0,009183. and 1,314E-05. Attitude toward switching is positive significant influence intention to switching with p value 2,7310E-23. Variable past switching behavior influences variable intention to switch directly and mediating by attitude toward switching with p value of 6,9267E-03 and 6,5522E-04. Add path from pricing and recomendation increasing goodness of fit model become 0,4053.

Abstract

A large number of muslim population in Indonesia have an impact on the development of muslim fashion in Indonesia and led to the emergence of muslim communities such as Hijabers Surabaya community. Hijabers Surabaya community also linked himself with sharia, such as cooperation with the islamic banking in which all community members will get free sharia account when joining the community.This research focuses on the behavior and attitude of community members towards the use of sharia account by using the theory of planned behavior perspective. This study used Structural Equation Model. Total participants in this study amounted to 150 members. The results obtained in this study is: (1) Behavior belief affect the attitude toward behavior. (2) Normative belief not effect the subjective norm. (3) Motivation to comply not effect the subjective norm. (4) Control belief affect the perceived behavioral control. (5) Attitude toward behavior affect the intention to use. (6) Subjective norm not affect the intention to use. (7) Perceived behavioral control not affect to the intention to use.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of merger and acquisition strategy for majority and minority shareholders at Indonesia capital market. This research is important since most of company ownership structure in Indonesia is categorized concentrated structure, where its create a conflict between majority and minority shareholders. The population of the research are companies that go public in the Indonesia capital market until the year of 2006. These samples of this research consists of 35 companies, divided two groups : high and low concentrated ownership structure, that are selected based on purposive sampling method. In processes testing the hypothesis, 2 indicators were used, i.e. market indicator and accounting indicator. Event study analysis was used for market indicator, whereas multiple regression analysis was used for accounting indicator. The results show a market reaction negative and statistically significant on merger and acquisition announcement. Effect of merger and acquisition strategy on performance is negative and statistically significant. This is indicated that tunneling by majority shareholder to minority shareholders through merger and acquisition strategy, and acquisition not value added for shareholder minority.

Abstract

Dalam menyediakan tempat untuk mengangkut muatan di atas kapal, maka diperlukan ruang muatan. Ruang muatan tidak selalu mengangkut muatan yang sejenis, tetapi terkadang juga harus berganti muatan lain, apabila terjadi demikian maka ruang muat harus dilakukan pembersihan. Karena sesudah ruang muat sudah dibersihkan tetapi surveyor menyatakan ruang muat kurang bersih maka proses pemuatan tidak boleh dilakukan, sehingga akan terjadi penundaan pemuatan. Dalam penulisan penelitian ini, penulis menjabarkan teori tentang pelaksanaan pembersihan ruang muat di kapal MV. VANA. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis dari objek yang diteliti. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, melalui metode literatur dan data-datayang berhubungan dengan proses pembersihan ruang muat. Pendekatan teori manajemen digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah yang terjadi pada proses pembersihan ruang muat, teori manajemen ini terdiri dari planning, organizing, actuating,dan controlling. Sehingga akan tercapai suatu tujuan yaitu ruang muat yang bersih dan siap untuk dimuati.

Abstract

The growing retail industry in Indonesia has two consequences; increase regional income which debatable issue, on the other side potentially decrease the performance of retailers (read: pedagang) in traditional wet market. This study not to conclude why the previous condition emerge, but explore why the performance of retailers in traditional wet market decreased. Using 315 respondents and intercept technique, the study found that there are two problems faced by retailers in traditional wet market today. The first one is their entrepreneurial orientation seems too low, the secondly their market orientation also couldn’t boosting their performance. The findings also shown retailers with higher entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation had a higher performance.

Abstract

This research was intended to verify and analyze the influences of service quality of the customer Argo class train Indonesia. Analysis method is descriptive statistical and Multiple regression with SPSS software. The sampling Technique was purposive sampling; the instrument to collect the data was questionnaire with e-mail of 116 customer of Argo class train. This research result a simultaneous analysis 84.7% of tangible variable (X1), reliability (X2), responsiveness (X3), Assurance (X4) and Empathy (X5) were positive significant and positive influence of train competitive advantage of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Argo Class).

Abstract

High competence human resources can support employee performance improvement and contribute in determining the company's future. The aim of this research is to examine and analyze the simultaneous and partial effects of competence characteristics consisting of knowledge and skills, self-concept, and the motives and traits on the performance of employees in the marketing department PT. X. The samples in this study were employees of the marketing department PT. X as many as 42 people, technical analysis is a technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results found that knowledge and skills, self-concept and motive effect traits Employee Performance in the Marketing Department.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain two empirical proofs, are about the difference of total portfolio risk between internationally diversification and domestically diversification, then, the influence of the number of shares in the portfolio toward the total risk of portfolio. The model analysis  used in this study is the difference t test on average two independent sample groups and for effect estimation, using simple regression equation. There were 21 blue chips stocks( LQ45 Indonesia;DAX30 German;FTSE100 UK;DJA – USA) choosen randomly, and used as sampel for both of internationally diversification and domestically diversification within period beginning January until December 2011. The results show that there are a difference in the total risk of the portfolio which is generated through internationally diversification and domestically diversification .Total  risk of portofolio internationally diversification is smaller than total risk of portfolio  domestically diversification,  and the number of shares in portfolio affect significant negative toward the total risk of  portfolio.

Abstract

Anchoring, in Behavioral Finance terminology, refers to people's tendency to rely too much on the initial piece of information offered (the "anchor"). Anchoring is widely found in decion making processes, where people make estimates about the likelihood of uncertain events or to predict or recall certain values or outcomes by considering the anchor value and adjusting it upwards or downwards to reach a final estimate. Such adjustments are often insufficient, leaving a cognitive bias in the direction of the initial anchor value (Tversky & Kahneman, 1974). This experimental study was performed in order to detect the presence of anchoring bias in Indonesian setting. Following Kudryavtsev and Cohen (2010)’s procedure, we randomly devided participants into two groups, namely: “control group” (where participants did not receive any anchor value) and “anchoring group” (where participants received some anchoring values). Participants in both groups were instructed to provide their best estimations or answers to questions regarding financial and economic issues. Anchors and the questions were presented with the same order and were expressed in the same scale. Using students of Master of Management Program Universitas Gadjah Mada as respondents, this research was aimed to see whether the answers provided by participants in the anchoring group were affected by the anchor values. Further, we would like to test whether the degree of anchoring biases among female respondents were higher than the biases among male respondents; whether questions related to older topics created higher anchoring biases than the newer ones; and finally, whether anchoring bias among non-finance major students were higher than those among finance students. The results show that anchoring biases were identified among all participants. However, we could not identify higher degree of anchoring bias among female participants than those among male participants. Similarly, we did not identify higher biases in answering questions with older topics than the newer ones. Finally, higher degree of anchoring biases were found among non-finance major students than in finance major students, suggesting the  type of knowledge might affect the degree of anchoring bias.

Abstract

Measuring the level of customer satisfaction is one of the important factors to overcome the competition is rapidly increased. By knowing the level of customer satisfaction from services provided, the company could undertake the mapping of improved service quality. By using the integration method servqual, IPA, and QFD, the service provider is able to determine the level of customer satisfaction and straightly can make improvements of service with low levels of satisfaction. This research was conducted at Plasa TELKOM Dinoyo Surabaya’s branch. From the questionnaires showed that all the attributes of service quality in the questionnaire have a negative gap value. In IPA method showed 6 attributes with high importance and low value the fact. The quality improvement to be done such as improving the application of SOP, increasing the number of officers, officials periodically evaluate, reward the best employees every month, the maximization of information technology systems, and implementing 4S culture are really needed.
