Abstract

Vocational education has a strategic role in preparing competent and work-ready human resources according to the needs of the industrial world. However, the quality of learning in Vocational High Schools (SMK) still faces various challenges, especially in the management of human resources and leadership effectiveness at the level of educational units. This study aims to analyze the role of human resource management and instructional leadership in improving the quality of learning in vocational schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data is obtained from relevant scientific articles through the Sciencedirect database and Google Scholar. The selection process was carried out systematically through the identification, screening, and feasibility stages so that 15 articles were obtained in accordance with the research criteria. Data analysis was carried out descriptively by reviewing and synthesizing findings from various related studies. The results of the study show that human resource management carried out systematically through planning, development, and evaluation of teacher performance has a positive effect on improving the quality of learning. In addition, the instructional leadership of school principals has an important role in directing, fostering, and supervising the learning process through academic supervision, teacher professional development, and the creation of a conducive learning environment. The findings also show that there is a synergistic relationship between HR management and instructional leadership in improving the quality of learning in vocational schools.

Abstract

Perencanaan merupakan bagian penting dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan karena menjadi dasar dalam menentukan arah, tujuan, dan pelaksanaan program pendidikan. Dalam pendidikan nonformal, khususnya Program Kesetaraan Paket C, perencanaan perlu disesuaikan dengan kondisi dan kebutuhan warga belajar yang beragam agar mutu pendidikan dapat meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis proses perencanaan Program Kesetaraan Paket C dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di PKBM Aditya Karawang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dengan melibatkan kepala PKBM, tutor, dan warga belajar sebagai informan penelitian. Analisis data dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan keabsahan data diuji menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan Program Kesetaraan Paket C di PKBM Aditya Karawang dilakukan secara sistematis, partisipatif, dan berbasis kebutuhan masyarakat. Perencanaan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan belajar, identifikasi warga belajar dan tutor, penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, penyiapan sarana dan prasarana, serta penerapan pembelajaran kombinasi daring dan luring yang menyesuaikan kondisi warga belajar. Keterlibatan berbagai pihak dalam proses perencanaan juga mendukung peningkatan kualitas layanan pendidikan. Namun, fleksibilitas pembelajaran masih menghadapi tantangan berupa rendahnya motivasi sebagian warga belajar. Oleh karena itu, perencanaan program perlu disertai strategi peningkatan motivasi belajar agar mutu pendidikan dapat tercapai secara optimal.

Abstract

Bullying is one of the problems that is still often found in the educational environment and has the potential to interfere with the psychological, social, and academic development of students. Bullying prevention efforts require not only a repressive approach through rules and sanctions, but also a preventive approach oriented to character building. This study aims to analyze the role of madrasah heads as educators in preventing bullying behavior at MIS Darul Huda Bandar Lampung. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research informants consisted of 6 people consisting of 1 madrasah head, 3 teachers, and 2 students who were selected purposively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The validity of the data is carried out through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study show that madrasah heads play an active role as educators through four forms of coaching, namely mental, moral, physical, and artistic coaching. Mental coaching is carried out through persuasive approaches, motivation, and religious activities to foster empathy and self-control in students. Moral development is carried out through example, cult, recitation, and habituation of moral values. Physical coaching is realized through regular exercise, discipline, and hygiene activities that encourage cooperation and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, artistic coaching is carried out through marawis, calligraphy, and educational tourism activities that strengthen positive social interaction. The findings of the study show that the multidimensional coaching approach carried out by madrasah heads is able to create a safer, harmonious, and conducive school culture so as to contribute to preventing the emergence of bullying behavior in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Organizational culture is one of the important factors in shaping the professionalism, discipline, responsibility, and commitment of teachers in the educational environment. A positive organizational culture is able to create a work environment that supports cooperation, effective communication, and increases teachers' work motivation. This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture on the work ethic of teachers at SMA Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of correlational research involving 70 teachers as a research sample through a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, while data analysis used Pearson Product Moment correlation test and simple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Research shows that organizational culture has a positive and significant influence on teachers' work ethic. A conducive organizational culture is able to increase discipline, cooperation, professionalism, and commitment of teachers in carrying out educational tasks. In addition, positive organizational values also help create a more harmonious and productive school environment. Strengthening organizational culture is very important in improving teachers' work ethic and the quality of education. The school is expected to be able to develop positive organizational values through effective communication, cooperation, leadership support, and professional development on an ongoing basis. The next study is suggested to examine other variables such as leadership style, job satisfaction, motivation, and work environment in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the factors that affect teachers' work ethic.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions of the application of active learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), its implementation in the learning process, and the various obstacles faced during its implementation. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach by involving Islamic Religious Education teachers as research informants. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that teachers have a positive perception of active learning because they are able to create a more interactive, participatory learning atmosphere and increase student involvement in the learning process. The implementation of active learning is carried out through various strategies such as group discussions, worship practices, role play, simulations, and questions and answers that are considered effective in helping students understand PAI material more contextually. Active learning also has a positive impact on learning motivation, critical thinking skills, courage to express opinions, and students' social interactions. However, the implementation of active learning still faces various obstacles such as time constraints, heterogeneity of student abilities, classroom management, and teachers' readiness to implement appropriate learning strategies. This study confirms that the success of active learning is greatly influenced by perception, pedagogical competence, and the adaptive ability of teachers in adapting learning strategies to the characteristics of the material and the conditions of students. Thus, active learning in PAI needs to be understood as a flexible, contextual, and holistic student engagement oriented approach.

Abstract

The transition period of new students in the pesantren environment is often colored by various adaptation problems, such as homesickness, interpersonal conflicts, social anxiety, and difficulties adjusting to a disciplined and structured dormitory life system. If not managed properly, this condition can hinder the self-adjustment process and affect the psychological well-being of students. This study aims to analyze the conflict mitigation strategies implemented by the management and examine the coping mechanism used by new students in dealing with pressure during the adaptation period at the Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Islamic Boarding School. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through passive participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of six new students, two roommates, one security administrator, and the head of the purposively selected boarding school. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana models through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, and strengthened by triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study showed that the administrators applied five conflict management styles based on the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), namely competition, collaboration, compromise, avoidance, and adaptive accommodation according to the characteristics of the students' problems. Meanwhile, new students use two forms of coping mechanisms, namely emotion-focused coping and problem-focused coping which develop gradually during the adaptation process. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of the Thomas-Kilmann and Lazarus-Folkman perspectives in explaining the relationship between management conflict mitigation, social support, coping mechanisms, and the success of student adaptation. These findings imply that pesantren management needs to integrate discipline, social assistance, and psychological support to create a more adaptive and mentally healthy educational environment.
